Location: Orleans, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA
Accommodations: Cottage Home, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)
This sunny one bedroom cottage on a private road just off Main Street is the perfect romantic getaway for two -- or a quiet retreat for an artist, writer, or anyone seeking solitude.
In the early morning and evening, there is plenty of bird activity to enjoy from the new deck and patio that overlooks the large, park-like back yard. Annuals overflow the window boxes and there are fragrant roses and blue hydrangeas in the perennial gardens that surround the house. Gentle breezes blow through the lace curtains -- all adding to the quintessential Cape ambiance. All this is yours alone to enjoy as this is not an apartment in a house or part of a condo colony but a free-standing home.
This is also not your "basic" Cape cottage. Inside, everything is much more comfortable and upscale than you would normally expect from its stylish Nantucket decor to the recently renovated kitchen with all new appliances (including Bosch dishwasher and gas range).
The cottage is very-well maintained and rooms are of a comfortable size -- about 560 sf in all.
The location is ideal: equidistant to ocean and bay beaches and town or village shops and galleries. Everything you need for the perfect Cape vacation!
The property is appropriate for two persons and is available from June 27th through October 11th on a weekly or biweekly basis OR after Labor Day, for a minimum of four nights.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2000
I grew up on Long Island, NY so the sea has always been a part of my life. For me, the Cape is the quintessential New England coastal experience: quaint villages with sea captain's homes, gorgeous sandy beaches that go on forever, small coves filled with little fishing boats, and a slower, simpler way of life. I still live year-round in Westchester County, north of New York City, but I escape to the Cape as often as possible. Even in winter, it is always beautiful and calming.
Why the Owner Chose Orleans
Orleans on the Cape is the perfect combination of beauty, charm and access. I'm never more than 5-10 minutes from everything: beaches, shopping, galleries, Redbird games, art shows, Farmer's Market, canoeing, tennis, biking, spas, numerous landings where I can park and walk and "take it all in". I just love my little cupcake of a cottage -- it was built in the 1930's so it has all the appeal of an older shingled Cape home but has been modernized for comfortable living.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage Home
I love the serenity of my property. Sitting on my deck with a glass of wine and a book are as delightful a way to spend an afternoon as relaxing on Nauset Beach and listening to the ever-changing sound of the surf. But it really doesn't matter what I do on the Cape, I always find pleasure in it. A rainy day even has its joys!
