The Unique Benefits at this House
To vacation on a mountain lake gives one so many options. The most obvious is the lake for boating, fishing, swimming, etc. Then we have miles of hiking and riding trails. Whitewater sports are nearby. Trout fishing is at it's best. Several good restaurants are within a 45 minute drive. The lake is surrounded by mountains that tower to over 5000' and the vistas are spectacular.

We have had a home in the beautiful Smokey Mountains of North Carolina for many years and believe that Lake Santeetlah is the most beautiful mountain lake east of the Mississippi. In '05 I decided to build on the lake; found this spectacular lot; and designed and built the home that we now have on VRBO. Lake Santeetlah is about 2800 acres in size with about 80 miles of shoreline. 80% of the shoreline is a part of the Nantahala National Forest, and the northern boundary for the county is the Great Smokey Mountain Park. Clean air and clean water. A great summer vacation spot. 1.5 hours west of Asheville; 2.5 hours north of Atlanta; 1 hour south of Knoxville on US 129.
