Why the Owner Chose Sanddollar
Most Sanibel vacations seem to always lead to a lifetime of recurring vacations. My Husband and I first visited Sanibel with our 4 children over 25 years ago and returned once or twice every year since then. We did eventually purchase a home on Sanibel and now live there 7 months out of each year.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Sanibel is definitely a place to relax and enjoy the beach, sun and beauty of the island. Almost 70% of Sanibel is permanently preserved and will never be built on. The island boast some of the best biking paths anywhere where small children can bike safely. It might rain in Fort Myers but winter rains on Sanibel are quite rare. There are numerous great restaurants and a new shaded children's playground available. Shelling can become addictive so be careful.

My Husband and I stayed here with my elderly mother in Oct 2011, we had a wonderful and relaxing time at Sand Dollar, we brought our tandem kayak with us, there was room to store it under neath the building when we were not using it, the complex only has 34 units so it has a nice private feel about it and is beautifully landscaped , plenty of places to rinse off feet,shells our boat. The Condo was nicely appointed and the kitchen was great to cook in! We ate out on the lanai every night and watched the sunset. The owners were very helpful with supplying any info we needed. The unit is on the first floor but still elevated one level, the view is partially obstructed by palm trees but still beautiful! We would definitely come back to this unit!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our week on Sanibel Island. The condo was clean and well appointed; it was exactly as pictured, and was very spacious. We all loved the gulf-front screened in porch! The kitchen had more utensils, pans, and dishes than I have seen in other condos, and we enjoyed cooking several meals. The pool and grill areas were nice as well. The owners were very quick to reply to my inquiries, and even mailed us something that my daughter left at the condo! I found Sanibel to be very charming. Even though we were there Easter Week, I didn't feel like the island was too crowded. We enjoyed shelling, and I found bike rentals to be easy and reasonably priced, and we loved biking all over the island. We kayaked, did a nature cruise, and rented a fishing boat through Tarpon Bay Explorers. My husband and I brought our children ages 10 and 12, and our parents (70's), and we thought it was a great spot for all ages. We also visited the Edison and Ford homes in Ft. Myers, and that was a great day trip as well. I would definitely recommend this condo and vacation spot to anyone!
