The Rock House is nestled comfortably in the heart of Carmel Valley Village, a small sleepy, history rich little town where time seems to go by unnoticed. The owners, Kristen and Joseph De Maria, lifelong residents of Carmel Valley, chose the site to build the Rock House because of it's unusual privacy, yet within walking distance to The Village.
When you first enter The Rock House you can feel the warmth and majesty of the European style architecture. The twenty foot high ceilings, opposed by the french limestone floors, create an atmosphere that soothes the body and encourages the mind and soul to soar. Relax around the stone pool with serenading waterfalls, or let your stiff muscles melt in the stone hot tub which is filled with fresh mineral water from our own 560 foot deep well for every new guest.
The Rock House is a simple 15 minute drive to Carmel By The Sea with it's beautiful white sand beaches, art galleries, and many shops and restaurants. You can enter Pebble Beach from Carmel and play golf at several of the best golf courses in the world. Pacific Grove and Monterey are just over the hill from Carmel and are home to the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf or any number of fine restaurants. The summer weather in Carmel is typically 58 to 65 degrees and foggy. Carmel Valley weather is usually 70 to 85 degrees with sun and a slight breeze. Play golf in the mornings at Pebble Beach then spend the afternoon at The Rock House pool and hot tub with on sight massage available upon request.
We think The Village has the best restaurants in the area and coupled with the many wineries and relaxed pace, makes The Village area a destination of it's own.
The Rock House is perfect for small intimate weddings around the pool with it's beautiful gardens and views of The Santa Lucia Mountains. Owners live in the guest house on the property and are available to assist guests with any thing they may need.
The Rock House is not just a place to stay...It is a place to be, to relax, to rest.
