Best Value on the Lake!

We have rented for a couple of years on Lake Minnetonka and this property was the best one by far! I grew up in the Twin Cities but now live in Northern California but love to expose my kids to the fabulous summer lake culture of Minnesota. The cottage is in a great location - convenient to most of our destinations (We took in a Twins game and were able to get back to the cabin after the game in less than 30 minutes). The cottage has a warmth and charm that is hard to find on the lake - we felt right at home there as soon as we drove up. The house lives larger than it actually is due to the open kitchen and large front porch. One of the best parts of the property is the fire-pit and and chairs out in front of the house. This location sits high enough off the lake so that there always seems to be enough of a breeze to keep you cool and bugs away. We rented a tubing boat from On-Trailor Boat Rentals out of Delano (20 minutes away) so the kids had a great time tubing and skiing while the adults enjoyed touring historic Lake Minnetonka. The kids loved having the hot-tub on site! The owners were very easy to work with and responsive to our calls. In short, this cottage is a gem!!!

Wonderful location for lake activities

I looked at several other places on Lake Minnetonka in a similar price range before ultimately choosing this one, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. It's a great location for lake related activities. I brought my own sailboat along and docked it all week, but the owners provided a canoe and kayak. There are a variety of interesting channels and smaller lakes and inlets accessible by canoe or kayak nearby that were really fun to explore, and the location on the bay is perfect for launching a sailboat. The dock was also a nice place to take a dip and cool off on the hot days, and the hot tub was a wonderful attraction on the cooler days (there were both in the same week in mid September). In addition to being a great location for lake activities, it was also within about a mile's ride of one of the nicest new bicycle trails in the state (the Dakota Trail) which provides wonderful up-to-15-mile (one way) rides in both directions . . . and one one end can be connected to the Luce Line for much longer rides all the way to downtown Twin Cities or out into central Minnesota. The house itself is wonderfully decorated, with a very charming look throughout . . . but then the kitchen has significanty modernized/remodeled and is--quite frankly--nicer than the one in my own home. The lake facing windows on the main living room provide a wonderful view of the yard and the lake...but for a really outstanding view, the adirondack chairs out at the top of the landing provide spectacular sunset lakeviews in the evening. I entertained a couple of small groups during the week and everyone raved at how wonderful the place was. The owners were VERY easy to work with and--as an added bonus--I found my security deposit refund check in the mail practically the day after I arrived home. I would definitely rent this property again if it were available.

Absolutely perfect! Five stars indeed. This property exceeded our expectations for a Minnesota lakeside vacation rental. The house is so charming. We were spoiled with the newly renovated kitchen. The layout of the house is open and great for family /social gatherings. The furnishings are very nice. The bedrooms are spacious, and the beds are decadently comfortable. The property itself is enchanting with many garden areas, an eating terrace, and the most relaxing spot was the Adirondack chairs looking out onto the lake. The property is lined with trees that created a beautiful frame for our view of the lake, and made the property feel very secluded. The views and the sunsets were stunning. The best part for us was the property's private dock and canoe. We really enjoyed hanging out on the dock, and taking a morning paddle around the bay. The hot tub was an added bonus too! Karen is very kind and accommodating. We enjoyed meeting her when we arrived, and we are grateful that she made her beautiful vacation home available to us. It was a very memorable week, and we were sad to leave. Our week at the cottage is now part of our top 5 holidays! Thank you Karen

Summer fun!

What a wonderful place to enjoy quiet solitude and BEAUTIFUL views of the lake. Our son, daughter in law, 41/2 year old granddaughter and a phalanx of friends and relatives celebrated two weeks of summer at this charming and spotlessly clean home. With 3 bedrooms the rotating guest list made it truly a moveable feast of fun and frolic. Upstairs bathroom with tub and shower got a workout. Downstairs bathroom quiet small with sink and toilet (felt like Europe), but hey, who spend time there when there is swimming, canoeing and kayaking. Lawn and gardens very well cared for. Usual breeze off the lake kept most carnivorous bugs at bay until sunset. To top it off, the owners are delightful people, ready to help but absolutely non intrusive. Grandma and Grandpa
