Location: West Vancouver, Vancouver Coast & Mountains, British Columbia, Canada (Located Between Cypress and Whistler Mountains) View Map
Accommodations: Duplex, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)
This is the perfect place to hang your hat and experience the West Coast feel. Not only can you explore the mountains, but stroll down to the dock and rent a boat for the day exploring many of the islands that dot the local waters. Feeling more adventurous? At the same dock you can take a Seafari! Get in the raingear provided for you and the souped up zodiacs and go and observe the seals and whales and bald eagles that live around these waters, or try your hand at catching a salmon!
Perhaps you'd like to walk down to the ferry terminal here in Horseshoe Bay and hop on a ferry to funky Bowen Island or picturesque Gibsons for lunch. Like flowers? Hop on board the BC Ferry to Vancouver Island and book a trip for a day or two and take in Buschart Gardens and Victoria.
If it's shopping and nightlife you prefer, catch the express bus from here, and hit Robson St to shop and Yaletown after for upscale clubs and restaurants. Don't miss Granville Island...
you'll want to bring back some of the delectable fresh food back home, but don't forget a little sightseeing on the aqua buses!

Why the Owner Chose West Vancouver
Although Vancouver is a beautiful city, I don't want to live in the middle of it. I feel like here I have all of the amenities of a big city, but live in a small seaside resort.
The Unique Benefits at this Duplex
If you like skiing, Whistler is only 1.5 hour drive, Cypress Mountain is only 20 minutes and Grouse Mountain and the Sky Ride Gondola is 30 minutes. Not only that but you can walk to a 9 hole public golf course, tennis courts, boat rental or have access to numerous hiking trails in the area. There are a variety of public beaches to visit, as well as my favorite walk along the shores of West Vancouver on the seawall. That and some world class restaurants!
Walk to the ferry to Bowen Island (20 minutes), Gibsons and The Sunshine Coast( 45 minutes) or Vancouver Island(including Buschart Gardens and Vitcoria, 1 hr 35min.)
This is one of the Olypmic venues, where the snowboarding will take place
This is the breathtaking stretch of road that will get you to Whistler in 75 minutes
The Nordic Centre will host the ski jumping and the cross country skiing events for 2010
Although not hosting any events,it is always a thrill to ride up the gondola and either ski or just admire the city with such an incredible view.
2 blocks from Argyle Ave, enjoy seaside dining with a variety of fresh seafood and west coast cuisine.
Love greek food and red meat? This is the place for you with generous portions and even pizza for the kids
Known for it's delicious fish and chips, but they also serve hearty breakfasts and dinners
Local pub with lively atmosphere, especially during the hockey season when the Canucks are playing!
Shopping Center as well as a wonderful selection of mid priced restaurants. My favorite is Cactus Club... YUM!
Owner's Map of West Vancouver
Although I grew up here, it still takes my breath away each time I come into Horseshoe Bay and see the view of Howe Sound on the way to Whistler Mountain. I still get goosebumps! There is something special about this place that makes me feel safe and secure nestled by the ocean and mountains. That, and I like the fact that when I don't want to cook there are 6 restaurants within 2 blocks, as well as a Starbucks for my morning java!
