Our house, Casa Charly 3, is one of 6 bungalows surrounding a beautiful pool and garden. It is a five minute walk to the beach through a green zone. Ocean waves can be heard with occasional howler monkeys in nearby trees.
The beach is totally unspoiled since it is in a national park which protects leatherback turtles. Walking along the beach you feel you are in a wilderness since no hotels or houses can be seen except at a distance on a nearby beach. At night the beach is totally dark except for the stars and moon.
So you can walk on the beach, swim or surf and then walk to our house and cool off in the pool before you do what ever comes next. And there is a great restaurant, the Great Waltini's, a block away that is reasonably priced by US standards (like Fridays or Applebees). It is a great place to meet other friendly tourists and locals.
If you have a bigger group, you can rent out one or more of the other 5 bungalows for a memorable trip.
