This is a secluded and very private luxury waterfront home located on an idyllic country lake near Charlotte, NC. The home is set back 120 feet from the road and is surrounded by so many trees, it is only visible from the water.
The lake is a pristine 1600 acres, so clean and natural that it serves as the reservoir for the nearby town. There are no marinas and most days you have the lake to yourselves. Located on a deep water cove off the main body of the lake the undisturbed, glass-like condition of the water makes it perfect for water skiing or any other water sport. Enhancing your water fun is a brick columned two level dock with boat lift, diving board, and swim ladder. Twelve feet above the water is a 200 square foot deck with wrought iron railing and electricity, perfect for sunning or grilling while you boat watch. Brickwork leads from the house to the waterfront so you don't have to get your feet dirty and an outdoor shower will cool you off if swimming is not your thing.
The house is three stories built into a slope descending to the water with water side wrap-around patio and a deck sitting 15 and 25 feet above lake level. The second level deck literally places you in the tree tops that canopy the entire lot. The house is divided into two living quarters: the 1st level of 1600 square feet is newly remodeled with a full kitchen, a primary bedroom, a study, an entertainment room/second bedroom, one bath with a walk in shower, a sauna, two fireplaces, a ground level waterside wrap around patio, all tile floors, washer and dryer, and dish washer. The second level of 3500 square feet is newly remodeled with a full kitchen, a master bedroom, three bedrooms, three baths, three fireplaces, one outside fireplace and grill, a hot tub, a sunroom, two living rooms, a dining room, tile and hardwood floors, washer, dryer and dish washer. Why the Owner Chose Charlotte
We chose our location, in general, because of the proximity to Charlotte and the mountains and our lake, in particular, because it is big enough to do all water sports and small enough to be exquisitely clean and natural. There are days when we practically have the lake to ourselves, a big deal for skiers- particularly "barefooters" and certainly for those looking for peace and quiet.
The Unique Benefits at this Home
Probably the most attractive feature of our place is the combination of seclusion and privacy with the potential for extreme water fun. One minute you're in a hammock with cool lake breezes wafting over you and the next you have 20 people diving off the dock, skiing down the cove and eating off the two grills.

We loved Charlotte as a place to work and play but decided we wanted to raise our three daughters in a small town environment. We found a beautiful 1600 acre country lake with restricted access and built a waterfront paradise for the kids to grow up in. We spent 20 years water skiing, swimming, boating and generally enjoying the water and weather. The mountains are close by so winters were full of trips to Boone to ski and hike and Asheville to recreate. All three of our kids were division one college athletes (tennis and swimming) so access to training facilities while they were growing up was critical and easily met with Charlotte and Greenville being only 45 minutes away. Now that the kids are on their own they tell us they couldn't imagine a better place to grow up.
