Casita Azul is the little sister of the Mouse Hole The Casita Azul has seafoam blue counters and glass tiles as well as a light blue exterior, thus the inspiration for its name... azul meaning blue in Spanish. The blue glass tiles have people commenting it is like a little jewelbox, especially when they are admiring the shower under the skylight. Casita Azul has has a queen bed with two attractive reading lights. The living area has a comfortable L -shape sofa. This has a high quality functional kitchen. Instead of a built-in oven there is a convection oven handy as well as four gas burners and an outdoor Weber kettle grill.
This cottage is very well insulated and has radiant floor heating throughout with two zones of controls. The Casita offers a small built in desk area for a laptop and has a fax machine and free long distance in the US from a landline phone.
The outdoor living area includes a deck with loungers, a table and four chairs, an outdoor shower with a live bamboo screen and interesting landscaping. For two couples traveling together, this cottage may be rented in tandem with the neighboring Mouse Hole. A sliding wooden gate on the deck allows passage to the other to create shared space for friends or family to visit.
Stinson Beach itself is a pristine sandy white beach which is wonderful for collecting shells and sand dollars and strolling the 3 miles or so of beautiful beach front. The nearby lagoon attracts a wide range of water birds. There is a wonderful microclimate in Stinson that affords more clear and warmer days than would be found only minutes away up or down the coast.
Water temperatures in the Bay Area area are cool and except for hot days most people who surf or engage in water ocean sports wear a wetsuit. The Golden Gate National Recreational Area protects most of the surrounding parklands, including nearby Muir Woods, and affords many wonderful hiking opportunities including the well known Dipsea Trail. Dogs are allowed to run offleash at our end of the beach.

Casita Azul is a perfect getaway for the three of us. Our canine daughter loves the easy access to the beach, and she appreciates the warm floor. The only challenge we encounter is due to inclement weather (thanks to El Nino)... otherwise, we truly enjoy the careful attention you poured into this wonderful cottage. The website does not mislead us. We already told our friends and family about this amazing gem. Thanks for sharing it with us.

What a wonderful place! We were here to celebrate a family wedding weekend. Casita Azul was the perfect home for us. The sun was here all weekend and we were able to enjoy all Stinson had to offer (including the Sand Dollar Mud Pie)! Thank you so much for the memories... We hope to come back soon and stay at the Casita Azul! Now back to Idaho to face reality...

Thank you so much for sharing this amazingly sweet casita with us. We were more than pleased to arrive and see that the description online didn't do the place justice. It was a perfect getaway for us and our golden retriever, Stanley. The details and the use of space make the place feel much larger than it is. It is perfect! We hope to come back soon!

We loved our first stay at Casita Azul! The weather was ferfect all weekend so our 2 goldendoodles got to take full advantage of the beach and backyard! The house has everything you need for a weekend away from the city. We are already figuring out when to plan our next getaway!

We stayed at Casa Azul for three days a week or so ago. Casa Azul is a lovely small cottage that is extremely well decorated and equipped. Everything that we needed was there plus more. We were impressed at what the owners have done and how they have done it. We really had a pleasant stay. Also allowing our golden retriever to come was great. After a rinse in the outdoor shower, she dried off on the deck and then just slept on the floor after a day romping on the beach. We really appreciate being able to take our dog with us and we won't rent anyplace that does not allow pets. Since she is well behaved, we have never had a problem with her staying in vacation rentals.
