Amazing Vacation!

Nina, Thank you so much my family and I had a wonderful time! The apartment was clean and equipped with everything a family would need. The rooms were spacious and well air conditioned. The view was spectacular and the ocean breezes were just what you would expect on a tropical vacation. We went zip lining, snorkeling and scuba diving, we spent a day at Luquillo Beach, hiking in the rain forest and spent a day in Old San Juan all which were in close proximity to the apartment. My daughters enjoyed the boogie boards and the beach right outside the apartment. We had a wonderful week! Thanks again! Tsenes Family

Disappointing

The location of this property was lovely, by Luquillo Beach, near El Yunque and a short drive to Old San Juan. Other than the location, this property turned out to be a disappointment. Let's start with the mattresses on the three beds which were hard as concrete. After several sleepless nights, I ended up sleeping on the couch for the rest of my vacation. My husband and son suffered through it since there was nothing else they could do. The night I gave up and moved to the couch, I slipped on a pool of water in the living room. The airconditioner had "frozen up" and was dripping water onto the floor, a significant amount which I had to mop up in the middle of the night. Then there were the bath towels. After my first shower, I reached for a bath towel and proceeded to dry myself with what felt like sandpaper. I held up the towel to take a good look at it, and there were three round bleach stains on it! I threw it on the floor and grabbed another towel; it had a hole in it. The crank to the kitchen window was broken, which kept the window from being closed completely, allowing a steady stream of heat and humidity into the condo. Other smaller issues such as bad water pressure and a toilet that stopped up a couple of times just added to the frustration. Overall, the condo and its furnishings looked dated and in need of a facelift. In conclusion, we did not allow the condo itself to ruin our vacation. We enjoyed our days at the beach, the rainforest, Old San Juan, and fishing off of Fajardo. But for the money we paid, I would not recommend this particular property...unless you like sleeping on concrete slabs and drying yourself with sandpaper.

Owner response:Sorry our apartment did not meet up to your standards Beds all have bedboards under the mattresses to insure a firm sleep enviornment . Cabinet with new , good quality towels were added this year in master bedroom. Have told management to add extra softener when doing sheets and towels. New ceiling air conditioner in living room has been checked out - found nothing wrong - possibly run too long in humid tropical weather. Building's water pressure and toilet bowls are being checked and hopefully being cared for at this time As for being dated , we have had the living room furniture refinished and reupholstered this year. We,ve also added added a 42" flatscreen TV srceen in the living room and put a TV in the master bed room. We spend our winters in this apartment and have done our best to make it a comfortable home for us and our children Glad our apartment didn't completely ruin your vacation. Dear Nina, I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your apartment/condo. We've rented condos/apartments in Puerto Rico for the past 4 years and yours was the best by far. It was clean and well taken care of. And you provide all the amenities we could have needed and then some. Having a full size clothes washer & drier and a dishwasher was an added bonus that most rentals don't provide. The whole family enjoyed it! If I knew when my kids' spring break was scheduled , I would book it for next year right now. I hope your rental becomes a permanent part of our annual trip to Puerto Rico. Thank you so much!!

The views from the balcony and every window were enjoyed. Experiencing an earthquake on Christmas Eve was a new experience for some of us. The only disappointment was the 6 days of cloudy weather, which no one can control. At least the air was warm and the water was warm. We also enjoyed our hike in the rain forest. It was raining hard while we hiked, but that gave us the true sense of the rain forest. Again, it was a warm rain. .We also went to the old city of San Juan. The high surf kept us from snorkeling, but two of our daughters took a surfing lesson instead. Everyone made the best of it, and we enjoyed time as a family. Thanks again, Jan

Located in Luquillo - right on the beach. Wonderful view and close to amenities. The grocery store is within view of the apartment. There are several restaurants nearby (Subway across the street, Several near the square in Luquillo, and the Kiosks are a short drive down the road - our favorite was "La Parilla"). Fajardo (for charters) and El Yunque rainforest are a short trip away. The apartment was clean and well-maintained and as described. The owner was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to my friends and family who are headed to the island for a visit. Can't wait to visit again!

Excellent Vacation

Nina, thanks for everything. The apartment was excellent; it had everything we needed. You should have seen my sons' faces when they found the boogie boards and the basketball in their room. They were sooo happy! We went to El Yunque, Culebra Island, Fajardo, Luquillo Beach, and even went kayaking in the lagoon in Fajardo at night. The apartment's location was very convenient to get to all the places. We might go back in a couple of years and will give you a call to rent the apartment again. Thanks for making everything very easy for us and for helping us have an awesome vacation. Take care!

Wonderful vacation at Playa Azul

The apartment was neat, clean, well equipped and maintained. The conditions of the apartment are actually better than the pictures and descriptions. The only minor problem we had at the beginning of our stay, was solved within 10 minutes of a call, to the apartment owners local representative. That is what I call good service. I was impressed by how well kept the common areas are (lobby, basketball courts, tennis courts, pools, etc...). I was equally impressed and delighted by the friendliness of the security guards and maintenance people on the premises. The beach was incredible, soft sand, with warm clear water, perfect for swimming, body surfing, and snorkeling. My sons had a blast building sandcastles and collecting treasures (seashells). The sounds of the crashing waves, the cool breezes and views from the balcony are worth a million. We went to El Yunque rainforest, did night kayaking in the Bio-Bay and visited Icacos Island via catamaran for a day of incredible snorkeling, all these attractions and activities are just a short drive away. We even ventured west and visited The Parque de las Cavernas del Rio camuy, and the Arecibo observatory. Old San Juan with it's spanish colonial architecture and castles is also a must see. We enjoyed dinners at Sandy's, Lolitas and Pasta y Pueblo, all good restaurants at reasonable prices. The luquillo Kiosks were ok. I would definitively recommend this apartment and this type of vacation experience to close friends and family. This was an experience that we will definitively repeat in the future. Dear Frank & Nina We had a great time in Luquillo. We bought a Ficus tree (artificial) And left it for your family. We decorated it with lights and other trimmings which we left for you to enjoy. It was our Christmas tree since we couldn't find one anywhere. We had to make sure Santa came for our grandchildren. Thank you. Aida and family
