San Felipe is known for it's natural beauty, great outdoor recreation, shops, restaurants, and relaxing environment of Baja Mexico.

We finished Casa Flamingo in mid 2009 and is located in a the 24h secured gated La Ventana Del Mar community with championship golf course, tennis, pools, restaurants, beautiful beach...

We designed it to combine the warm relaxing comfort and style of Baja with all the amenities and comfort expected from a luxury resort villa built to US standards. A great place for 1 or 2 families (sleeps up to 8) to come together and have a great time.

Casa Flamingo provides central Heating/Cooling and offers an upstairs oversized master Suite with Master Bath and private balcony. Additional 2 Bedrooms with shared Bath are on the 1st floor and share a large wrap around partly covered Patio/Lanai.

The 1st floor Living room with the 42" Built-in LCD TV provides additional sleeping on a comfortable fold out sofa. All Bedrooms feature iPOD alarm clock radios, 32" LCD TV and DVD and ceiling fans.

The large upstairs gourmet Kitchen with Stainless Steel Appliances opens to a dining area and living room with gas fireplace. From there you step on to the gorgeous patio with great views and built in Stainless Steel gas BBQ.

From the Master Suite Balcony and upstairs Patio you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise on the Sea of Cortez or a stunning sunset behind the Mountains. The balcony and patios are equipped with comfortable Patio furniture and lounge chairs.

Casa Flamingo is only steps away from the vast white beach, Pools, Restaurants and tennis and the Golf Clubhouse is just a short walk away. The 3 car private garage offers you enough room for car, Quads, Bikes etc.

We have installed a central water treatment system and alarm system for comfort and peace of mind.

  • We have been to San Felipe twice, both times were amazing trips. The first was to check it out in the early stages of development. We loved the El Dorado Ranch, close to but not in town, world-class infrastructure in place or being put in place, unbelievable views from “everywhere”. The property is beachfront and very tidal, which our entire family loved as the tides go way out and the exposed beach was a lot of fun to explore. The second trip was for our 15th Anniversary. We spent the night in San Diego and drove down the next day. It’s a straight shot to the border and then south on a great quiet road. Upon arrival, it was apparent that a lot had been done at the property, including the beautifully designed condos/townhouses. The Golf courses were looking very good. Casa Flamingo is a gem. Top shelf everything. It’s very well located. It’s close to the main pool (that has a lovely little breakfast/burger joint), and the condo's shared private pool, so you can choose where to hang out. Casa Flamingo is easy walking distance to the beach for our boys and protected from the “beach traffic”. The condo itself is brand new, has lots of space for two families, the appliances are first class and the appointments well coordinated and bright. Our favorite spot is the upstairs outside balcony area for sipping margaritas at sunset and/or grilling a nice burger, steak or freshly caught local fish on the built in BBQ. We will be back. Hopefully sooner than later.

  • "Casa Flamingo" is a great place to stay - for a week or two, or even a long weekend! The La Ventana Del Mar resort is an easy 2-hour drive from the border (Mexicali), or only about 3.5 hours from San Diego. The road there has been upgraded significantly and is a 4-lane highway most of the way. La Ventana is on the north side of San Felipe, so it is easy to get to, before the more built up area of the town. We flew into San Diego on a Thursday am and were at Casa Flamingo by 4pm, in time for margaritas at Juanita’s. Casa Flamingo is well situated, easy to find off the main entrance road into the La Ventana resort. It is across the road from the main pool/snack bar/tennis court area and there is another more private pool just out the back. Casa Flamingo is also an easy walk to the beach itself and to Juanita's canteen, a rustic, friendly Mexican restaurant and bar. The accommodations are superb! Beautifully decorated and furnished and well equipped. The accommodation is great for a large family or even two families of four sharing (as we did). The kids will love the "bonus room" under the stairwell - a kid-height pair of rooms that make a great den! The house has an interesting "split level" design, making it easy to house an less mobile person (Eg grandparent), as there are 2 bedrooms, bathroom and lounge accessible from the garage/patio. The design also makes it easy for 2 families to share the place and have some privacy as well as communal areas for dining. The resort is very secure and quiet. It has a great network of paths around the golf course for running/walking and the beach just goes on for miles. Kids of all ages will love the beach area. The hosts/manager for Casa Flamingo made it very easy to book the place and were flexible with our requirements. Surely there are other places to stay in the San Felipe area, but La Ventana del Mar and specifically Casa Flamingo are a great mix of easy access to beach, resort facilities, the town as well as a great place to simply "hang out".
