  My husband and I decided to head to the mountains for a quick couples escape. We have 2 young boys and we felt we needed that we needed some time for just the 2 of us. I cannot say enough great things about this cottage! Upon arrival, we relaxed in the massage chairs and took in the mountain views through the wide cottage windows. We loved the hot tub and the sound of the river below, VERY relaxing! We brought our two dogs and they seemed to enjoy the cabin just as much as we did! The bed is by far, the most comforting bed I have ever slept in! My husband kept saying that we need to get a bed just like that one! We rarely left the property, aside from when we decided to drive "into town" to pick up forgotten items at the store. I have already recommended this place to several people and would definitely go again! Thank you Donna for an awesome getaway! I hope that next time, we will get to stay a little longer. We plan to actually get out and do more mountain activities then. Thank you again!! :)

  We enjoyed our 3 night Valentine's Day Get-Away at Sweet Dreams Cottage. This was our 1st time doing a vacation like this (away from the city) and everything was nice, relaxing and romantic. We appreciate all the special touches like the complimentary bottle of wine, the Valentine's day chocolate and cute decorations. On the 1st day of our arrival, there was an issue with the thermostat/heat. We arrived to find the co-owner, Jim already there working on the problem and he immediately notified us of what was going on. We appreciate the way the owners handled the issue (it could have been a problem, but it turned out not to be). We also appreciate the call we received by Donna the following day. She wanted to check in on us to make sure that everything was ok with the heat and the accommodations. We were glad to let her know that everything was back to working fine. We enjoyed a day trip to Luray Caverns/Luray museums (about 15 mins drive) and another day trip to Massanutten ski resort for snow tubing (about 45 mins drive). We also made a short drive to Walmart for supplies (about 15 mins drive). The fireplace and the large open window was a nice touch, especially for our dog who likes to lounge and look outside. The home is dog friendly which is a plus for dog lovers (There were also dog treats, toys, dog bed etc at the cottage). We also enjoyed the hot tub and cocoa that was provided. And for those wanting to sit back and watch movies, we noticed a decent selection of DVDs at the cottage, although we did not get to watch these since we brought our own. The campfire was also a nice touch. In the evenings we would light a fire outside and make smores while watching the stars. The provided candles, radio/love song CDs and oil fireplace were also nice for use around the hot tub at night. And lastly, we both got some much needed rest and relaxation-lounging and napping on the couch by the fireplace, sitting in the his and her massage chairs (the nature sound machine by the chairs and water fountain were also a soothing touch) and sleeping in the cozy bed (the mattress pad and neck pillow were also comfy). We saved money by cooking romantic meals rather than eating out. The kitchen was very accommodating and we both enjoyed cooking and eating by the window. We appreciated the seasonings and staples like sugar, tea, popcorn, cooking oil etc. All in all we had a great time and would enjoy coming back, especially when it is warm!

  We were looking for a relaxing Thanksgiving weekend outside DC for peace and quiet and that’s exactly what we got at Sweet Dreams. The cabin is so warm and cozy! The owner had left us a complimentary turkey or ham (our choice) since we were checking in on Thanksgiving. The hot tub was so great, especially for the cool nights. We loved the gas fire place. Two wine glasses were displayed on the table for a winery not far. The next day we went to the winery and had a wonderful time and picked up a few bottles of wine. The weekend was very pleasant and quiet. We will definitely be back if we are back in Luray.

  We had a wonderful time relaxing at this perfect get away tucked in the mountains.The pictures depicted the site accurately. The campfire was perfect after a day of visiting various wineries.The bed was extremely comfortable. Everything we could think of needing was provided at the cottage and the wine was a delightful touch! When we visited we were about at the tail end of the fall color change and the surroundings were beautiful. We hope to return again soon.

  Had a lovely time at the Cottage this weekend (10/5-10/8). Very romantic and secluded. Area was absolutely beautiful this time of year. Highly recommend for couples looking for relaxing getaway. I can't think of anything that would have made it better!

  The rental could have been cleaner, but it was a great location.

  Owner response: We provide a guest card to our guests with our phone numbers on them. If you had any problems, you should have called and we would have gladly sent over the housekeeper or the maintenance person. I am somewhat confused, as the housekeeper went over there the morning of your arrival. We are so sorry you were so unhappy with your accommodations, but given the chance, we could have rectified your unhappiness by getting the issues fixed; moving you to another cabin/cottage; or refunding your money.   Me and my wife spent the weekend in Luray and the cottage was beautiful, romantic and comforting. Everything from the decor of the cabbin, the massage chairs, the hot tub, and the comfortable bed was amazing. We were able to sit outside and light a fire in the fire pit and enjoy the montain side atmosphere. I would definitely stay again and I felt it was located conveniently to different places such as the caverns and walmart which were all about a 20 minute ride from the cabin.

  My boyfriend and I were looking for a relaxing place to stay for our active Shenandoah and Luray weekend. Sweet Dreams worked very well. Donna was quite responsive to emails. The price was within range of other similar places in the area. The home was really cozy and had such a great theme. The massage chairs put me to sleep (this is a good thing!) and we very much enjoyed the hot tub. It had everything we needed. Only downsides were that it was hard to find at first, it's out of the way to throw your garbage out at the end of the weekend (have to drive further away from town), and it's a bit of a drive even from the sleepy town of Luray, so even further from Shenandoah. But overall, it was very nice and we would consider staying there again if we went back to the area.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

  Sweet Dreams Cattage was a very, very remote area with the scenic mountains, the river being near & nature blooming everywhere. The huge windows in the front of the house lets you feel like you are up next to the heaven. It seams to have all you need; from the kitchen nook adorned with all the beautiful dishes, the living room with the gas wood burning stone fireplace (so romantic), the hot tub with the fluffy terry clothe robes & the bedroom with the tray, rose petals, champagne & glasses on it completed the night. Thank You both for this time to be with one another on our 21st wedding anniversary!! Y'all are the best!
