Sweet Dreams Cattage was a very, very remote area with the scenic mountains, the river being near & nature blooming everywhere. The huge windows in the front of the house lets you feel like you are up next to the heaven. It seams to have all you need; from the kitchen nook adorned with all the beautiful dishes, the living room with the gas wood burning stone fireplace (so romantic), the hot tub with the fluffy terry clothe robes & the bedroom with the tray, rose petals, champagne & glasses on it completed the night. Thank You both for this time to be with one another on our 21st wedding anniversary!! Y'all are the best!

The cottage was perfect for the weekend getaway we needed. We got very lucky with beautiful weather and the big windows let in so much light. With the warmer weather, we were able to eat our meals in the screened in porch and enjoy walks by the river next to the cottage. The hot tub was amazing and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. Highly recommended for any couple who wants to get away and enjoy a secluded, relaxing, and enjoyable getaway.

We had such a wonderful stay at Sweet Dreams Cottage over our Christmas trip 2011! From the moment we arrived we felt right at home. The hot tub, fireplace, mountain views, and town of Luray were all amazing. I saw my husband relax for the 1st time in months and months! Thanks for the much needed quiet weekend away. We’ll be back again soon!

Great Romantic Couples Cabin!!!

This cabin is great! The owners take extra care to make sure your stay is exactly what you want it to be. We stayed for our anniversary and everything was set just so. The amenities such as hot tub with terry cloth bathrobes; fireplace with adjustable temperature; dishes, glasses, and pots and pans, made the stay wonderful. The view of the Shenandoah River is beautiful. There is many things to do even in the winter. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this property to anyone who has difficulty walking up and down stairs.

Really relaxing place to stay

My boyfriend and I were looking for a relaxing place to stay for our active Shenandoah and Luray weekend. Sweet Dreams worked very well. Donna was quite responsive to emails. The price was within range of other similar places in the area. The home was really cozy and had such a great theme. The massage chairs put me to sleep (this is a good thing!) and we very much enjoyed the hot tub. It had everything we needed. Only downsides were that it was hard to find at first, it's out of the way to throw your garbage out at the end of the weekend (have to drive further away from town), and it's a bit of a drive even from the sleepy town of Luray, so even further from Shenandoah. But overall, it was very nice and we would consider staying there again if we went back to the area.

Recommended for:Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We had a wonderful time during our stay at your cottage. Donna and Jim, you really put a lot of love into this place and it shows. We really liked the masssage chairs, the screened in porch - although with the heat wave we have been having, we skipped the hot tub. Anyway we are packing up this morning to head back to the Jersey Shore. We want to thank you from the heart for sharing your cottage.

Thanks for providing us a place to celebrate the holiday peacefully away from the hustle and bustle of the DC area. The cottage is charming and the quiet setting was just what we needed to relax and refuel. All of the little touches - spa robes, massage chairs, and a CD of romantic music - made this an incredible mini-vacation and of course we can't rave enough about the hot tub. We loved Luray and having such a wonderful retreat waiting after visiting the caverns and other attractions was the best part. We will definitely tell other couples we know about "Sweet Dreams". Thank you!

Thanks so much for sharing "Sweet Dreams" cottage with us. We have had a wonderful week. It is so peaceful and serene. You can't help but relax and enjoy it. The cottage is lovely and the hot tub and massage chairs are great. Yes Donna, the best seat in the hot tub is under the kitchen window!!! The ducky adds a neat touch too! We spent one day at the Park and a few evenings at Luray - love walking on the Hawksbill Greenway - but the best part was simply relaxing at the cottage. Hope to see you soon!

Thank you so much for letting us experience your beautiful cabin! I just graduated college, Freddy works for Wall Street, and we just moved into an apartment in the NYC area. We needed a relaxing weekend. The couples massage, jacuzzi, massage chairs, comfy bed and a visit to Luray Caverns were just what we needed! Wish we had more time to spend here! Our honeymoon has been so relaxing this past week! We enjoyed the massage chairs, hot tub, movies every night, the wine, the grill, campfire and dining on the porch. Everything was very romantic and comfortable. We also enjoyed the Skyline Drive, hiking to a waterfall, dining and a movie in the town of Luray. We kayaked on the Shenandoah river with the Shenandoah Outfitters, going to a waterpark in Massanutten, and cooking out at Lake Arrowhead. The weather this past week has been perfect and this morning we woke up to the sound of rain hitting the roof, which was so relaxing and peaceful. This trip has been what we both needed; for me, a break from college, and for him, a vacation from work. It is a nice change of pace from living in the city and it is so refreshing to breathe in the clean air. Also, people down here are so friendly. I think every person we passed on the road waved to us as we went by. We also saw a bald eagle, deer, turtles, chipmonks, squirrels, a snake and birds during our trip. It has been amazing and will not be a forgotten memory! Thank you so much for providing a place for us to stay and experience all of this!

We celebrated 29 years of marriage on 4/2/11. This retreat was our gift to each other. Vacation has always been an all inclusive beach resort for us, however we wanted to do and see something new and different this year. The cottage is so charming and peaceful! Our first night there was a terrific thunder storm. It was awesome!! With those great big windows over looking the area, the lightning lit the entire sky. Hearing the rain beat on the roof was so soothing. I got a chance to jog those extremely challenging hills. Received an excellent work out every day. The town of Luray has alot to do. We visited the Welcome Center in town which proved to be very helpful. The people of Luray are so sweet and friendly. Wineries and Luray Caverns are a must if you are visiting here. Thank you for sharing your cabin. We had a wonderful time this week. Beautiful country! Forgot to mention - the best part - the hot tub is awesome!

Your cottage exceeded our expectations. It truely provided a haven of rest for us. We felt so at home here and have fallen in love with the Shenandoah. We came here to celebrate our 25th anniversary and your charming little cottage was the perfect place to do it. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and comfy bed. The kitchen went unused, as Billy will not let me cook when we go away from home since he says I cook all the time and deserve a break. Our favorite restaurant was the "Artisans Grill" in Luray. We also enjoyed the "Skyline Drive". Thank you for all of the personal touches, especially the welcome gift and personal handwritten cards.

The man in my life is turning the big "50" and we chose a trip to the mountains in celebration. We couldn't have asked for a more welcome cabin to stay in. The special touches made everything perfect!!! There were little surprises, previously worked out with the owner, that made the whole trip extra special. Aug 27 - Sept 6 - My bride and I celebrated our 21st anniversary here. We enjoyed hiking and kayaking, flying and ATVing and lots more. However, we mostly enjoyed time together at your cottage. We saw bear, foxes, deer, ground hogs, vultures and hawks. For us the time here provided an opportunity to re-connect on many levels and realize what is really important.
