Keywords: Cabin
Precious cottage with an Angel's View.
Overlooking the first Salmon Pool of the Cheticamp River, bordering the Highland National Park, and minutes away from the Acadian French village of Cheticamp, this jewel will please your soul.
Appearing to be remote, the active village is just 2 minutes away with drug store, grocery, beauty shops, gift shops, bakeries, museums, whale tours etc. But at the cabin you are surrounded by privacy of trees, mountains, and the Cheticamp River. Two blocks away is the Gulf of Saint Lawrence where the Cheticamp River spills into the salty beach.
The cabin is small but the view is large. A 12 foot bay window frames the mountains and river. We watch moose, bear, deer, coyotes, chipmunks, squirrels, and eagles as they cross the river and forage the flora.
Fishing is fly reel only from the pool up. It is a scheduled river so "catch and release". You can trout fish also.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2001
My husband Lee and I have 3 children and 3 grand children. We run a restaurant in Myrtle Beach, SC and enjoy a couple of rental properties. We love golf, oceans, rivers, beaches and mountains.
Why the Owner Chose Cheticamp
We fell in love with the cool summers, moose, mountains, whales and rocks found in Cape Breton. When your view and property border is the Highland National Park, you know there will never be a commercial sign or neighbor in your front yard..Just nature at it's Glorious best.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
By far seeing wildlife cross the river is a highlight. The cottage sits up on a ridge 20 feet above the river. This allows you to view wildlife as they go about their normal life. This ranges from moose, bear, deer, coyote, muskrat, beaver and the majestic bald head eagles. Canoeing the river and fishing is a calming past time. Then hiking the trails or just driving through the mountains is spectacular! The friendly French village is charming and unique.

My husband and I stayed at Angel's View for a week in early June of 2010. This was really getting away from it all, and we loved it! The view is absolutely gorgeous, and we saw moose nearly every day at the river and even a mother moose with her new baby. We also saw lots of birds, deer, and a bald eagle! We could not take our eyes off of the view! The cottage caretaker, who lives in town, was also very helpful and nice! He made sure all of our needs were taken care of, and also filled the bird feeders where we had squirrels, chipmunks, hummingbirds, and much more! There are many things to do in the area - hiking in the national park, walking on the beach, and driving the Cape Breton Scenic Drive, all of which were fantastic. We had fresh seafood (mostly the lobster which was in season) several times during the week, and it was wonderful. The house was on the smaller side, but was very clean and well taken care of. We will definitely come back in the future.
