Up the hill from secluded Henderson Beach and its beautiful ocean vistas, tucked amongst the coastal old growth forest, is The Lavender House.
With beautiful pine and fir ceilings and bedroom walls, this 2200 sq. ft. newly renovated character home (completely refinished in 2009) on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia is a vacationer's retreat. The house stands proudly in bright lavender, purple and yellow, typical Roberts Creek quirkiness on a 3/4 of an acre.
The Lavender House boasts 20 foot ceilings and numerous skylights that give the home a wonderful open feeling. Tastefully appointed with artwork from BC and international artists, the house is a true vacation retreat.
The master bedroom with en-suite luxury bathroom provides total privacy from the rest of the house. Down the arched hallways, two additional bedrooms include loft sleeping areas that children and those young at heart will love! A pull-out queen bed in the great room brings the sleeping capacity to 10 adults – everyone will enjoy hotel quality sheets and matching duvets.
Old growth fir and cedar trees line the winding driveway and grace the house and large, private lot with privacy and shade. In the back yard, a large open stretch of grass is bordered by a cozy hammock that will beckon you to your first of many afternoon naps in the shade.
French lavender, rhododendrons, flowering vines, blooming ground cover and fresh strawberries are only some of the lush plants that adorn the property. Play horseshoes or bacchii, or spend the afternoon with a book on the shaded balcony.
Visit Fred, our resident frog and his harem of goldfish (they are shy, so best to watch quietly) as you relax on the grass, or wander through the trees as you explore the pathways and try to find the hidden fairy…

We'd been coming to Roberts Creek for years, every since the first time we ate at the Gumboot (their organic Rib Eye Steaks and Super Salad alone are worth the trip). The friendly atmosphere and close proximity to Vancouver make the creek an amazing place to get away.
Why the Owner Chose Roberts Creek
When our daughter was born we decided to take the plunge and create a vacation home that we could enjoy as a family. With large extended families on both sides, it was important to find a place with enough space for several couples and their children. It was the lavender color, huge private lot, and children's lofts that sold us on The Lavender House. We hope you'll enjoy what we've done to the home and property...even Mielle helped plant the strawberries! It was a labor of love, and we're sure you'll come to love the creek as much as we do! We stayed here in the summer of 09. It was perfect for us and our daughter's family. We even had our grandson's birthday party here. The yard is beautiful and the kids played outside for hours. The kitchen is exactly the kitchen I would love to have one day. Hiking trails are very close and the road is very private, so we felt safe walking to the beach with the kids. Time and busy schedules have kept us from going back, but we hope to return when we can.
Recommended for:Age 55+, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.
