This was my first trip to Mexico and I was unsure of what to expect. However when we arrived we had nothing but excellent hospitality from the mexican people and the food was awesome! We finally got to our condo at night and was blown away! The condo was more then we had imagined - beautiful spacious rooms that were clean and well decorated. The view was spectacular from both levels. Beds were very comfortable and the view from our bed at night was breath taking. A short walk downtown on the winding cobblestone streets was a treat. The restaurants were great with excellent service. Tipping is always recommended for these people are well worth it. The beach was beautiful and on windy days watching the waves was a pleasure. There are alot of vendors and we had purchased some really nice items. The owner was good to us and reassured me that my trip to PV Mexico would be memorable and that it was I can't wait to go back. This place is amazing! I have been to Puerto Vallarta many times and love the city, but now I have a new favorite place to call home! The Condo had everything and was very spacious. The views are amazing and for someone who prefers a pool over the beach I spent many hours just relaxing at home. Thank you so much for making my 40th very special. Just looking at the photos again of my new favorite condo in PVR brings a big smile to my face! VRBO.COM is the best thing ever!!!!

Vista Romatica delivers all it claims. The photos are accurate. The descriptions match what we found. Wendy is a knowledgeable and excellent host/owner. PV delivers, as well. It was our first time here and safety was a concern. No more. The penthouse is high in the hills overlooking the city/bay and is among some of the most expensive real estate I've seen anywhere. There are no less than four locked doors to get to the penthouse, including a private elevator/and key. We found Old Town to be safe, mostly clean - hey, it's old - and the residents seem to work at keeping it that way. Tourism is their livelihood and they're not going to ruin it for you or themselves. It's an 18-minute walk down hill (just lean forward) but I don't recommend the return trip. Cabs take you anywhere in Old Town for $5. We went in late February so the water was still too cold to swim but PV is on the same latitutude as Hawaii, nuff said. It's touristy, for sure, but expect that. The cruise ships stop twice weekly. We found a wide variety of excellent food. Wendy Day is an excellent host/owner, who knows the town and is happy to answer any questions. I doubt you'll find better first-class accommodations anywhere in Mexico. I tried and couldn't. One thing. Don't bring small kids. The balcony around the pool makes it too dangerous for a fall if not closely supervised. Enjoy!

It was me , my girlfriend and two small children, The manger Angel let us check in a few hours early, helped us find a cook for breakfast and dinner daily which was awesome, amazing views of the city, beach and mountains. Every night around 930 PM there is a ship that shoots fireworks which you can see very clearly and is really cool sitting in the roof top pool drinking a cold beer. My girlfriend wants me now to buy a place just like it. The lighting in the house is amazing and there has to be at least 50 different lights with dimmer switches. who ever did the electrical did a wonderful job. There was everything we needed at our fingertips. It took on average 2 min for a taxi to arrive, I could not keep my nine year old out of the pool and we kept losing our ten month old because the house is so large and she thought it was funny to keep hiding from us. My girlfriend could not get over the fact she did not have to cook or clean, the cook actually told her to stop helping your on vacation. all of the restaurants, bars, stores, and any thing you could possibly need is a 5 min cab ride. The roads going up to the Pent house are steep but it makes for exercise if you decide to walk. I recommend this place for the price and overall Experience 100%

When we finally picked our jaw off the floor ten minutes into touring the amazing Vista Romantica, I almost burst into tears with joy. We rented Vista Romantica in April 2010 to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. We were able to host an amazing cocktail party coupled with this condo as a backdrop. We hired a local chef and bartender for what was indeed a most special evening. Watching the ocean,sunset and the lights of Vallarta glow everynight was an added bonus. Wendy has thought of everything, I would highly recommend this rental, there is no way you will be dissappointed.

I was lucky enough to stay in this amazing property with my Mom. It was such a wonderful vacation, but the best part was definitely coming "home" at the end of each day, opening a bottle of wine and enjoying the views from our balcony. I will be returning next year and will be booking this penthouse (and recommending it to my friends). It's perfect for 3 couples to enjoy; you are close enough to Old Town to be completely independent of each other, then meet up for happy hour and dinner in the suite! Thanks Wendy for everything, you made this super easy and comfortable to book!

We had a great time in staying at Vista Romantica, you won't be disappointed! The place has spectacular views, and plenty of room. Most of the house opens toward town, the doors never closed our entire week there. I was a little concerned about being a taxi ride from town, but it was no problem at all. Taxis are plentiful and inexpensive, and we ended up walking more times than taking cabs once we discovered the route. I'd definitely recommend staying here, and plan to again if our vacation plans take us to PV. Thanks for a great vacation Wendy we really enjoyed it.

My partner & I have celebrated our anniversary in PV on New Year's week for the past 5 years and have rented condos each visit. Vista Romantica, the Penthouse at 139 Hortensia Street, equaled or surpassed our previous condo rentals in PV in almost every category. We were the first clients to rent the place since Wendy bought it, so there could have been things that weren't ready or needed to be completed, but that wasn't the case. Having previously rented on the same hillside, we already knew it was advisable to take a taxi up to the condo, though it's an easy 5-10 minute walk down to the beach. The view is spectacular! Some of our other PV condos have had great vistas, too, but the view here was superior because it looked directly down on the old city and bay. It's possible to soak in the plunge pool with that backdrop behind you or look out on it from the bedroom windows of two of the three suites. This was the first of our rentals (all of which have been advertised as "three bedrooms") to REALLY have three full bedrooms, each with king-size bed, separate bathroom, individual TV, free Vonage phone calls to the US & Canada, and Wi-Fi access, to boot. Usually, you get a master suite, a decent second bedroom, and a den with convertible sofa for the third bedroom (and a guest bath across the hall). The place is spacious and lacks for nothing. The kitchen was perfect for our needs. We were able to have a nice dinner party for our group and some guests with no inconvenience whatsoever. My only minor quibble with Vista Romantica concerned the style: the condo was constructed in a traditional Mexican motif (e.g. thatched sloped roof), which is more florid than the contemporary look I favor. But, the furnishings were modern & comfortable, so I forgot about that after we settled in. Finally, Wendy was so warm & engaging that we arranged the rental by e-mail & phone without any assurance that things were as advertised. Our instincts were rewarded when we arrived at Vista Romantica & it was nicer than the photos on the website (Wendy: you may want to use mine to show it off to better advantage!:-). The rate was reasonable and we rented it during the most expensive week of the year. If we return to PV again this year, we do hope to return to Vista Romantica.

A great condo! I stayed there the last week of Feb. 2010 and it was hard to leave! I've rented several condos in PV over the past 10 years and this one is by far the nicest. The previous person's comment is correct, the pictures don't do it justice. It was hard to leave the house because the balcony and plunge pool were so lovely. The indoor/outdoor layout of the condo is fantastic. We never closed the doors to the balconies all week. We just sat and watched the boats come and go. This is a perfect rental for a group. It is HUGE! There are three master suites offering alot of privacy so it would be great for three couples. Be sure to be the first to arrive so you can claim the upstairs bedroom. You can lie in bed and have a view of old town including the cathedral. (You also have that view from your shower!) The furnishings are very modern and comfortable. Having a US phone number ended up being very useful too. One warning, this condo is pretty far up a hill. It's great for the view but the hike up is a killer and even going down was no fun for my mother. But cabs are cheap (50 pesos) and plentiful. You can call for a cab from the condo (using English) and they're usually there before you can get downstairs. I would stay here again... tonight if I could be there!

One word for Vista Romantica - SPECTACULAR! When my friends and I walked in, we were blown away. The pictures don't even do it justice. It was so easy working with the owner and the property managers - very nice all around. The place is so open to the outside to look out to the amazing views of the city and the ocean. The pool was fantastic. We sat in it and lounged for hours at a time! My friends had rented a private home there last year and said that this beat it. The price was very reasonable too. We cannot wait to go back!!
