The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
In all humility, this property has it all and is possibly the cutest cottage in town. When we arrive, we unpack and take off our shoes. You won't need a car unless you plan to go out of town, The Little Whaler is about al fresco living. You can relax, dine and sunbathe on the deck and take a hot tub or outdoor shower at your leisure. The front gate safely locks and there is a sandbox and toys for kids. The flat screen TV is hooked up to an HD DVD and there is a surround sound system for vibrant movie experiences. The wood stove heats up the whole place and the sights and sounds of a burning fire relax you well into the evening.

Owner's Map of Stinson Beach
My wife and I bought the Little Whaler a few years ago as a respite from San Francisco life and because our two kids went absolutely bonkers playing on Stinson Beach. We've spent a lot of time and energy trying to bring a small slice of Cape Cod to the west coast and to make the home feel cozy and inviting. We'd love to share our passion with others who like quality touches executed in a subtle manner.

I knew this property very well before the current owners bought it and transformed it into THE SWEETEST cottage ever. A friend of mine and I rented the old cottage for several years as a beach get-away from the other side of Mt. Tam - nice to watch the crowds leave and be able to stay on weekends. This spring I was planning a girls weekend to celebrate the upcoming marriage of an old friend, and found The Whaler available. I couldn't resist! It was such a treat to experience all the amazing upgrades while re-living fond memories with friends who had each spent time there before. The attention to providing every possible comfort is incredible! Not a single thing to want for. The current owners have made that cottage into what it always dreamed it could be! I'd like to thank them for all the love and affection they've poured into the upgrades and making it so comfortable and well appointed. Many wonderful memories are sure to be made there, by many others in the future. And my little dog loved it there too! She wishes we'd go back 8-)

My sister and her two young girls spent the first night at the cottage. It was great to have the extra detached unit for them to stay. We arrived late the first night so we watched a little T.V. and got a great night sleep. (Very comfortable beds) We spent the day at the beach, walked into town to get lunch and my husband joined us on day two. The family left and my husband and I had a peaceful and romantic weekend. We spent the days at the beach and relaxing on the very large back deck and evenings were spent in the hot tub and visiting local restaurants. What a fabulous community! We did not want to leave and even tried to stay another night... they were booked. :( We will definitely return and would highly recommend it. This cottage is very comfortable, quiet and has everything you could possibly need and more! Love it... Love it... Love it...
Owner response:Dear Amy and Mark, we couldn't be happier that you and your extended family enjoyed your time. You discovered quickly how the place flows: hot tub, beach time, relax on the deck, dinners at the great places in town. You are always welcome back. Sincerely, Paul & Donna

What an intelligent and well-designed home! From the sound design to the lighting design to the kitchen everything is so well thought out. We came here to celebrate 30 years together and 5 years in NorCal. Since Manka’s Inn [note: lovely old school bed & breakfast in Inverness town nearby] burned down we were not sure where to go – now we do! Thank you so much for sharing the magic! Mark & Carolyn P.

What a delightful, cozy refuge! We spent a week during the large storms and loved every minute. The hot tub warmed us up after running from the huge waves on the beach. Every comfort -- especially the wood stove. Very pretty, modern and yet with the quintessential Stinson feeling. We'll be back.

The Little Whaler is perhaps the nicest little compound in west marin. We had the time of our lives! The house and cottage are really charming, fully updated and exudes the warmth and charm of a 20's beach house + a private cottage. You are steps from the beach and town, and the deck and hot tub are protected in case there is wind or any foul weather at the beach. Loved it and will return again and again. Hugh
