We were really impressed with the guest house. This was the first time we have ever stayed in a guest house as opposed to hotel and loved it. Betty made us feel very at home and provided several items for us to enjoy like coffee, home made muffins and not to mention giving us helpful insights as to what places to visit while we where there. The house was secluded and quite but within minutes from town and restaurants. Betty also provided basic staple items for us to use during our stay there and the grill on the patio was excellent so that we could cook outdoors and enjoy a view of the beautiful mountains from the patio. We would definitely stay at this guest house again on our next vacation to Taos, New Mexico.

The property was everything Betty said, and MORE! Not only was it super clean, updated, comfortable, and offered everything we needed during our stay, it also gave us a sense of security. Reasonable prices!! Betty provided fresh muffins, Starbucks coffee, green chai tea, hot chocolate, popcorn, and other items needed for cooking which I thought was a real perk! We personally loved the fireplace (wood provided which smells amazing) majestic views, comfortable beds, linens/furniture, and beautiful decor, even the ceilings are made of beautiful hardwood and had wooden beams which is not a common look in Florida. Needless to stay, we absolutely fell in love with the casita, and plan on making this an annual trip. We enjoyed hiking out at Pot Creek, Amole Canyon, Rie Grande Gorge and Taos Canyon. We loved all of the souvenier stores, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Taos Java, Taos Mercantile Co., and best place to eat was Alley Cantina!! Betty is just a gem, and we cant wait to visit her in Taos again!!

The casita was every bit as charming as the photos and description. The view from the casita is pretty amazing and the location is just enough off the 'tourist road' for peace and quiet. Betty knows the shops and museums and points of interest. Thanks Betty for making us feel special. This was a really great retreat!

The Highroad Guest House is an attractive and comfortable adobe building, very well equipped, tastefully decorated, with a lovely garden area and patio. The owner is most accommodating and thoughtful, providing extras that help make the guests' stay special. This property has our unqualified recommendation, and we hope to return another time.

I just came back from spending a month at the casita. It is everything it promises to be. The casita itself is very cozy and clean. The decor feels very much like home. The surrounding gardens are gorgeous, Betty cares for them diligently. The views of the mountains, the gardens, and the sunsets are very dramatic. In the summer, you can also enjoy watching the large flock of hummingbirds at the feeder from the porch. Betty is very hospitable, and very helpful. As is her trademark, there were muffins, coffee, and teas for me when I got there. I would highly recommend this casita!

Great location for jaunts in the area, wonderful venue for vistas, cloud watching, and start gazing. Beautiful casita and gardens. Betty is warm, helpful, and gracious. Looking forward to our next visit. Every detail of the photos is accurate for this impeccably maintained property. Will recommend to our friends. A keeper for sure.

This house was the *perfect* romantic getaway and home base for our Taos adventures. We were greeted with fresh flowers on the kitchen table and locally grown coffee. And the pictures really don't do the house justice... it was impeccably decorated in Southwest colors and knick knacks complete with beautiful furniture, bright fresh paint, a super comfortable queen bed and a cozy living room with a scenic view and fire place. And, of course, all the of the amenities were perfect: plush linens, a clean comfortable bathroom, excellent wireless internet, TV & DVD, full kitchen and a patio with a grill. Plus, the house was a short eight-minute drive to the central plaza... but removed enough from the touristy areas to feel like an escape. It was conveniently located near or en route to everything on our itinerary. An extra kudos to the owner for being incredibly friendly, thoughtful and offering fantastic service. She was quick to answer all of our questions and customized the brochures and recommendations to our interests. We will definitely be staying here again when we return in the winter!

This is a wonderful "casita." It is perfect for a couple or couple with up to 2 children. Betty was very helpful in answering questions/concerns and maintains the property in excellent condition. The property is accurately described per the listing. Thanks for your hospitality Betty!

I stayed at the guest house with my 12 year old daughter and never had a better time. We took in the shops and galleries of Taos, visited Taos Pueblo and dipped into the delicious waters at Ojo Cliente. Each evening we returned to our beautiful guest house where every thing was perfect right down to the smallest details ( like fresh flowers, a full bag of Starbucks coffee, and fresh baked muffins to name a few). Everything we needed was right there - even the popcorn! We had so much fun and were so comfortable in this beautifully decorated house. It was definitely our home away from home during our stay in Taos.

I stayed at the Guest House for four weeks this summer and thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. The casita is charming, the view outstanding, and the owner, Betty, gracious and accommodating. For a small additional fee, I had use of a portion of Betty's studio. The space was more than adequate and the light just right. In short, the Guest House is the perfect place to stay in the Taos area for artists, tourists, or those who just want to be far from the madding crowd. Thank you, Betty!

We stayed in the Guest House the night of October 3, 2009. This was on the first leg of our vacation, and I must say it was a real highlight of our trip. The hospitality was unexcelled, and the comfort of the "little house" was great. The view from the living room appeared as though it were a large painting of the nearby mountains, framed by the windowpane. We loved it,what more can we say---look forward to returning sometime in the near future. Highly recommend this beautiful place! Thanks Betty, Karin &Gary

We have been coming to Taos regularly for the past eight years. We had a delightful stay in the Guest House over Labor Day Weekend. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. The Southwestern decor was beautiful inside and out. All essentials were generously added. We truly think this is the best vacation rental we have stayed in and plan on staying there again.
