Maxine and her penthouse condo at Windswept are renowned on Kiawah Island, and with good reason! Maxine is the consummate hostess, making answers available before her guests ever ask their questions and always ready to serve without being intrusive. The property feels like a home and probably exceeds most folks' expectations in the way of comfort and convenience. Although the condo is smaller than the photos led us to believe, my sister and I were easily able to be together without being on top of each other. The beds are luxurious, the views are gorgeous and, important to those of us who love to cook, the kitchen is better-stocked than any other rental we've experienced. Unfortunately, the weather during our stay was mostly rainy and chilly but that allowed us to stay in and relax and enjoy our homey retreat. For the first time, I didn't feel like I needed a vacation after my vacation! If you're the kind who doesn't want to go far from your vacation home, you'll find almost everything you need in the village 10 minutes away, including a high-end grocery store. For those who want to venture further afield there are countless restaurants and stores in Charleston, 30-40 minutes away and some smaller places that have their own local charm in between. Nature and the history of the South are the focal points of this area and the energy is, not unexpectedly, laid back. Maxine, you have a treasure at Windswept and you are a treasure yourself. Our Stay Could Not Have Been Better!

We have stayed at Kiawah many times, in a variety of vacation rental condos. However, we have never stayed in a more beautiful, well-kept and luxurious condo as this one. Kiawah Island is a spectacular destination no matter which property you are staying in. We have never not had wonderful time here! However, our stays have been most memorable when the property was also spectacular, and Maxine's condo certainly is that. It is a penthouse --I don't think you can be up any higher on the Island! And it is ocean-front, so you have the *best* views possible (in fact the pictures online don't do the view or the condo interior justice). The unit has been updated with meticulous attention to detail. The fixtures, fittings, furniture and finishings are contemporary and very upscale. We don't know how old the unit is, but it is very clean, looks very new and is certainly on-par with any five-star hotel room. If you have any problems during your stay, you are only a phone call away from Maxine and her property managers, and they will make 100% sure you are satisfied (we needed a new coffee maker, and it was delivered extremely quickly!) We could go on and on about how incredible the condo and our stay were, but we will simply leave it at this: we couldn't tear ourselves away, in large part because the condo was *so* nice, so we extended our stay by one day, and we are already scouring the calendar to figure out when we can stay here again!
