Perfect vacation rental. We could have moved right in. The owners really know how to make people feel right at home. Having the spa to relax in after a long day only made it better. Duck Key is right in the middle of the keys so it was very convenient to head down to Key West or into Islamorada. Owners very helpful with restaurant and activity recommendations. The Green Turtle Inn was especially a great way to celebrate our anniversary. Manager Yoel took very good care of his with on the house champagne and dessert. Terrific dinner! Hope to be back soon!

Fantastic lodging, location, and owners to deal with. Everything was just as advertised, and Mike was very helpful prior to my stay providing guidance and suggestions for both activities and dining. Townhouse was very well equipped, clean, and comfortable. Amenities of Hawk's Cay were easy to access and very enjoyable. The fishing off the dock was very good, and my family was able to catch dinner a couple of nights without much effort. Would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again without question.

We had a wonderful week at Duck Key. The Condo was very clean and better than advertised. Convenient washer and dryer - and good kitchen appliances. The hot tub on the back patio was fabulous and kept very clean. Duck Key is sort of in the middle of the Keys, so you can go north or south easily. We will be sure to try the other rentals that Mike and Lea have in TN and SC since this property was so nice.

My family and I stayed 3 nights at Mike and Lea's house in Hawks Cay from 10-13th January and loved it. It is a beautiful house - not huge - but very well located, beautifully furnished and maintained and thoughtfully designed. A perfect antidote to 6 days in Orlando doing theme parks, before flying home. The only 'fault' we could find was lack of a kettle so we've suggested that Mike and Lea invest in one for us Brits who like our tea! The hot tub on the deck was an added bonus. Perfect location for visiting the rest of the Keys. Mike and Lea were very helpful and accommodating. Will return at some point......

We stayed over Thanksgiving in Mike and Lea's condo and had a great vacation. Great location away from the main roads but still close to everything. The owners of the villa were extremely helpful and easy to get a hold of. The unit was very clean and well equipped. Easy to park in front of the condo. We would stay here again when our travels take us back to the Keys!

We have stayed in many holiday rentals but none better then Mike and Lea's beautiful conch house. The location in Duck Key is well away from the road and there is no traffic noise which was very important to us. It's a great location for visiting the Keys - we had easy day trips to the Everglades and Key West. Tom's Harbour restaurant on site was very good and an easy stroll from the property. There are endless places to eat within easy driving distance. Our absolute favourite was Lazy Days with waterside dining, superb fish, cocktails and great staff. As for the property itself it is perfect. Great dockside location, superbly equipped, beautifully clean, we couldn't fault it. Mike and Lea were great to deal with. Go there without hesitation, you won't regret it. We hope very much to return.

My friends and I stayed at this location for an extended weekend. Everything we needed was here. We all had a fantastic time fishing in the Keys. Every evening we came back to this wonderful unit, relaxed and ate the days catch. We hope to do this trip again in the future. When we do we will use this unit again. The owners of the villa were extremely helpful and easy to get a hold of. The unit was very clean and well equipped.

My family stayed at this condo for 13 nights and it started feeling like our home. The condo and the beds were very comfortable. The island is beautiful for walking and running - the landscaping is gorgeous! My husband and I enjoyed the clean and private jacuzzi on the patio too. A trolley comes by every 10 minutes and stops off at the Sunset Pool, Tom's Harborhouse Restaurant, and the Duck Key Dive shop - the stops we used. Diving in the Keys is wonderful - lots of fish and new coral growth (elkhorn and brain). Go to Key West one day and dive the Vandenberg (500 ft ship) with Subtropic Divers. The water was amazing - 86 degrees all the way to the bottom! Looe Key diving was great also with Innerspace Dive shop. I really liked seeing the 19th century shipwreck pieces at Sombrero Lighthouse Reef too (with Tildens).

My husband & I and two of our friends just spent the week at this beautiful location. Everything was just as described. The accomodations were terrific, so neat and clean. All the comforts of home with plenty of space to enjoy our time in the Keys. We will definately be back! Hawks Cay is a beautiful resort and we did the Dolphin Connection and swam with the dolphins which was one of the greatest things we've ever done! Thanks Mike & Lea for sharing your heavenly spot!

I would HIGHLY recommend this unit to anyone looking for a GREAT place to stay with responsive, considerate, and attentive owners. They were so helpful as we prepared for our visit, and answered any questions that we had regarding the unit or the area. Although the pictures of the unit are certainly accurate, the unit really seems more spacious than the pictures can show. We have 3 children (11, 13, and 16), and we were very comfortable throughout our entire stay. The unit is furnished and maintained with care and comfort in mind! We thoroughly enjoyed the patio with the hot-tub. The ceiling fan on the patio kept us cool on the hot days, and it has just enough privacy fencing without blocking the breeze! My 2 boys shared the twin bedroom, and my daughter stayed on the pull out couch in the living area. We enjoyed the master suite with the king bed and private bath. All of the appliances and electronics are modern and easy to use. There is even an ipod player in the living area that we really enjoyed using! We had no problem using the pools in the resort area. There is a tram that goes through the resort, but we were also able to walk to the pool in about 5 minutes. Our experience was 100% positive, and again, I would recommend this unit to anyone wanting to stay in the Keys. Duck Key is the perfect location for so many reasons, and we really enjoyed the ability to visit the upper and lower keys while we were there. We snorkeled at the John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo (pretty good experience, but we were in some rough waters). Our children participated in the Dolphin Encounter at the Dophin Research Center on Grassy Key - a FABULOUS experience! (We looked at several places that offered the dolphin experience, and we are certain that we chose the right one!) We also visited Key West for 2 days. We rode the "Old Town Trolley" and visited the Hemmingway house (and enjoyed both) on the first day we were there. On our second day, we signed up for the "ultimate adventure" on the Fury (out of Key West). If you have kids that would like to snorkel the reef area, parasail, and jet ski all in one day, I highly recommend this company. They did a fantastic job from start to finish - the food was even good! Our vacation was such a great experience, and this unit was the perfect home away from home. I have already recommended the unit to our friends, and I hope that we will have the opportunity to return one day!

Mike and Lea were great hosts and now I consider them to be good friends as well. The condo was immaculate and well stocked, including a beautiful welcome basket with fruit, chocolate and all kinds of goodies. The resort is beautifully maintained with lovely pools and lush landscaping and very friendly staff. Mike also gave me several tips about good places to eat and visit which greatly added to the enjoyment of our trip. I'll be calling them the next time I'm ready to visit the Keys!

My husband and 3 boys stayed at The Makers at Hawks Cay. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed their lovely condo. The condo was clean and beautifully decorated. Our boys enjoyed the fishing and all the activities at the resort. We had full use of the main pool during spring break and always were able to find a chair. We had great meals at many of the local eateries. Went fishing with Capt Doug at the charter company right on the Key. Fabulous time.

We just got home from a wonderful week on Duck Key - and this condo was the perfect location for us! Mike and Lea are great hosts - Mike sent us so much information about dolphin swims, boat rentals, restaurants, beaches, etc. The condo is perfect - updated bathrooms, nice furnishings, quality bedding, and a great kitchen! There was plenty of room for our three boys to relax and have fun - especially on the back deck with the jacuzzi! Duck Key is so pretty and quiet - very relaxing. I loved that there was a tram to take you around the Key, so convenient! We were about 10 minutes from all of the shops, marinas and restaurants on Marathon, so plenty to do! Sombrero Beach and the Island Grille were our favorites!! I highly recommend this condo and loved working with Mike and Lea! We are planning a family reunion on Duck Key for next year!!

My husband, myself and our 2 year old daughter stayed here earlier this month. We had a great time. The condo is very clean and everything was how Mike and Lea had described. Mike was very helpful in answering all my questions and had many suggestions regarding places to eat and things to do. It is just a few minutes from restaurants, grocery stores and Sombrero Beach on Marathon Key. The patio is comfortable and we spent many nights relaxing in the spa. This is much better than staying at a hotel, I highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again.

The villa was exactly as pictured and described. It's in a quiet, beautiful area and really couldn't be nicer. It's tastefully decorated and very comfortable. It has all the amenities you need, and it's so much better than staying in a hotel. It's just a short drive from Marathon, so restaurants and grocery stores are only a few minutes away. The owners were fantastic to work with. I'd absolutely stay again!

I went with my son (21) and daughter (16) to the Keys and stayed in this villa July, 2010. The location and amenities were everything we expected. The villa was in great condition and everything worked (I've rented others over the years and many times appliances were old or didn't work - this was a refreshing change!) The owners (not an agency which is also nice) were very attentive and responsive to any questions. This villa location is perfect for families or folks interested in being in the Keys but maintaining a calmer stay versus the more active atmosphere in Key West. We did take advantage of some of the Hawk's Cay resort activities which were very close by. It's nice having kayaking, jet ski rentals, parasailing, sunset cruise and snorkeling/diving opportunities within walking distance. The prices are moderate, but the location convenience is the true value! It was disappointing that we couldn't order drinks or food poolside though because they now have a room charge only policy - no cash payments accepted. Here's hoping this policy changes the next time we stay here! I'd definitely recommend this rental (along with the owners) and look forward to renting this property again in the future. The owners of this property have a couple of others, so if this one isn't available - ask about different units.

Mike and Lea's Villa was even nicer than we expected. The pictures and description were very nice, which made us comfortable booking but it was actually our communication with the owners that sold us on renting with them. Everything that they told us was true. The entire villa from top to bottom was outfitted to meet and surpass our needs. It was clean, updated and absolutely everything was functioning perfectly. The water was always hot for our showers. The fridge and ice maker were awesome. The coffee pot was just like ours from home. The view on the canal was gorgeous and calming. The little patio was perfect for sitting out and having your morning coffee or having cocktails in the evening. There were plenty of linens and towels which were all 5 star and they were clean! Even though we had stopped at the store in town we would have not wanted for anything had we gone straight to the Villa. It was stocked with toliet paper, garbage bags and some more of the other necessaties just to get you through until you could get the items yourself. The washer and dryer were right there for your convenience. Mike and Lea even provided washing powder, dryer sheets, an iron and an ironing board! You could walk or take the tram to all the activities at the resort. This villa was great for families or just couples wanting to get away. There was something for everyone! The little grocery mart (where you can get most things but it is costly!) is within walking distance! Or, if you wanted to run into town it was only 10 or so minutes away. Some of the best restaurants are very close, like Mike's Hideaway, Key's Fisheries, Ziggy's, Herbies and Loralie. Checca Lodge is not far away either and it is very well known for it's upscale cuisine, elegance and charm. Personal fav's are Mike's and Key's. The People at Tom's Harbor are nice but you might want to take the little trek into town for eating out, go to the main resort or take the kiddies to the Pirate ship. If this Villa is available you would be nuts not to book it! I am recommending it to all of my family and friends. We were on Duck Key for a wedding with family from all over the world (some came in from Scotland). All that visited the Villa said it was the nicest they had seen at the resort. Everything is right there at your fingertips! If you need anything Mike and Lea are just a phone call away!

We just rented from Mike and Lea for the second time and have experienced both of their villas. We stay in Hawk's Cay every year and have not seen any other villa that compares to theirs. Our friends rented a villa from another owner this trip and after seeing it, we were very grateful we went with Mike and Lea again. Villa is clean, everything functions as it should, and furniture is excellent quality, not cheap rental furniture. We loved the Tommy Bahama couch, very comfy. See you again next year Mike and Lea, maybe sooner!

This condo was VERY clean and nice! Brand new TV's to watch the basketball playoffs, great patio out back with hot tub and comfortable amenities!! It is exactly as described in the ad. The Indies Club and pool were great facilities to work out and play at, with iguanas and little lizards walking around the sidewalks. Our favorite restaurant was The Island Fish Co. in Marathon with outdoor seating right on the ocean and the public beach we liked was Sombrero beach again in Marathon. Be sure to go snorkeling! I just couldn't get enough of the beautiful blue water, palm trees and scenery! We'll be back. Thanks Lea and Mike!

We spent the most romantic, relaxing week in the Florida Keys from our home base in Duck Key! The villa was the perfect size for a couple or small family. The two beds/bathrooms allowed us to spread out and enjoy his and hers closets and showers! The unit was beautifully maintained and appointed with new furniture, beds, etc. We made wonderful memories enjoying the outdoor spa and back patio overlooking the crystal blue water canals behind the villa! The location of Duck Key is perfect for exploring the Keys without being in the central bustle of Key West.

We just arrived back from our month at Mike and Lea's gorgeous condo. What a great month, the condo is beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds and cozy couches and chairs. The kitchen was very well stocked, with cooking pots and pans, The spa was a nice treat and having coctails on the patio in the evening watching the huge tarpon swim around the lights in the canal was so relaxing. Enjoyed it immensely, we would highly recommend to friends and family! Dave and Sandy Harpswell, Maine
