Why the Owner Chose Nashville
Our Home is in the perfect location for those who want to enjoy: the "Gatlinburg Cabin" feeling without driving all the way to East Tennessee, being close enough to participate in Nashville's BIG-CITY "sights and Sounds" and, enjoy local festivals and visiting wonderful historic sites and activities just minutes from our Home.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
When we first pulled into the driveway and saw this home it felt to us like we had just arrived at a "vacation destination". The setting, the trees, the lake, the cabin and the scent of pine trees were welcoming and familiar. Our home offers a relaxing atmosphere, beautiful lake, the freedom of "doing nothing" (and not feeling guilty about it) and plenty of things to see in the area. Forget about your "rushed life", the job, tons of "appointments" to keep. Come and reconnect with your family and friends, enjoy the awesome sunrises/sunsets and feel the "pressures" just melt away.Rent both cabins for your large "family gathering" needs. Both homes will "sleep" 10 people.

Owner's Map of Nashville
We have traveled all over and enjoy hosting other travelers at our "Home Away From Home". When we first saw this home...all we wanted to do was stay and never return to the stresses of life. Alas, we couldn't escape to the Cabin as often as we planned, so the next best thing was to make it available to those discerning Vacation Home Rental travelers that know the secret of comfortable hospitality and surroundings at prices and an environment superior to city-centered Hotel Suites. ENJOY!

Thank you so much for sharing your place with us. All weekend we kept saying what a great find this was and how fortunate for us it was available. It made our visit to Nashville that much more rewarding. We really appreciate the care that you give your home and the concern you share for us in making sure we made it okay, making yourself available during our stay if there was a need and giving such wonderful directions so that our trip there went smooth and was enjoyable. We slept so well in your comfortable beds and it sure was nice to have a place to be able to relax without being stuck in a one bedroom hotel room. You could not wipe the smiles from our faces the whole time we were there. And you must have requested gorgeous weather from the man upstairs because while it was winter in Missouri it was Spring at your place--which made even that much nicer. Thanks Jack and Lenore for contributing to such a memorable "Girls Weekend of Relaxation." We all said that we will have to do this again and only at your place!!! Thanks Again!! Owner response:My wife and I enjoy staying at the Cabin and are very happy when others remark about its relaxing environment and convenient features. We are especially pleased to hear others brag about our comfortable beds and the amenities and space we offer that hotels do not. Please let us know if we can be of service to you and your family. We look forward to serving you.

This home is absolutely lovely and presents exactly as described. The photos do not do it justice. The owners obviously care about their home. It was perfectly maintained, extremely clean and well stocked with supplies, kitchen utensils and towels. The owners were readily available to help in case we had problems or questions. We actually had a chance to meet the couple and decided we could be friends if we lived in the area. They are extremely caring people. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone traveling to the area. There are many things to see and do we kept very busy. Restaurants abound in Gallatin and the surrounding area. Despite the hype, we would not return to the Loveless Cafe. All in all, it was a fantastic trip.

We had a reunion and just enjoyed staying mostly inside because of the weather. The lake was beautiful and we enoyed a short walk down by the water. Having a fire in the fireplace really was a highlight. The accomodations were great, we cooked in every meal and loved the homey-ness of the kitchen. We saw deer a couple times and enjoyed the quiet and peaceful environment. This rental went above our expectations; everything that we were told would be available was there and more. The owners went beyone our expections and answered all quesitons before we arrived.

Five of us gals who hadn't been all together for 13 years converged on this beautiful property that has it all. There's plenty of room for a variety of activities (we scrapbooked perfectly.) The views were wonderful and the kitchen felt like we were home - cooking was easy as it had all the basic utensils. The lake was gorgeous!!! The owners were warm and have prepared the property for the perfect getaway. Again, thank you SOOO much!!!

My husband and I along with another couple stayed at this cabin on 11/19 - 11/22. The cabin was perfect for 2 couples (offering privacy with BR's & bath) but common living areas. The beds were very comfortable, the deck was perfect for sharing morning tea/coffee (most favorite part of the trip), reading a good book & playing games at night. We saw lots of deer & had a beautiful view of the lake. The property was exceptionally clean, offering all the "things" one needed for a home away from home for a few days. In addition, it is an easy 30-40 minute drive into downtown Nashville or to the other surrounding towns. Lastly, the husbands enjoyed playing horseshoes but didn't get a chance to do any fishing. We would highly recommend this property to friends and would most certainly stay there again - it was truly awesome and the owners (Jack & Lenore) were fabulous people to deal with. We traveled from NC to meet friends from Miss and this was a great place to meet and enjoy the sites of Nashville. The pictures do not do this lake home justice. The scenery was fantastic, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. We felt very much at home. There was plenty of seating outside as the weather was wonderful so we could visit indoors and out. We were close enough to enjoy all the sites of Nashville. Everyone we encountered during our visit to Nashville and around town was very friendly and helpful. We had a great time!

Our Softball gang stayed at this beautiful place from 9-16-2010 to 9-20-2010. We had a bonfire in the front on one of the cooler evenings. You could see the lake and the moon from all our positions around the fire. In the early mornings, we could all meet on the lower level patio to discuss the day and our upcoming games. The inside was pristine. Everything fresh and clean. This is where we want to stay the next time we have games in that area. Some of us did a little exploring in the huge yard. I found a tourtise shell that I have already cleaned up and have on my table.

Our stay at Old Hickory Lake Cabin

We were so pleased to arrive and find that this home was so clean with top shelf bedding and a well equipped kitchen. We drove form Austin to celebrate my brother's 40th birthday. The directions were great because we came in at night so thankfully the owner was detail oriented which was perfect. My brother's family drove up to visit us at the cabin during the days and with a total of 5 adults and 3 children we had plenty of room to cook and eat together. There is a near by marina where we rented a pontoon boat and toured the lake. The pontoon boat did not go fast so be prepared. We tied it up at the cabin and were able to go out from there as well. The owner, Jack came to take trash away and he was a wonderful person. We had to call him a few times to ask questions and he was always available. This is a shared property so you may have someone renting out the other home that is attached but they have separate entrances and although it is a duplex type of set up the cabins are fairly separated. There are plenty of areas outside for sitting that are easily shared. We had a blow up pool and the kids splashed around for hours while we grilled out. Beautiful setting with nice privacy. The outdoor living areas have ceiling fans and there is a gas grill, picnic tables and patio furniture to enjoy the outdoor setting. Very well furnished and clean. I will recommend this to my friends.

My family spent a short weekend at this property, and it was every bit as lovely as its description. The owners were very helpful in working with me when I had to change my plans a couple of times, and they continued being helpful after we arrived and needed help with directions for a wedding. The property is beautifully decorated, clean, and well-maintained. The view of the lake across the road is stunning, and it was hard to leave this peaceful place after such a short visit. My family has decided that we want to return, and in the meantime, I would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet, lovely home away from home.
