Bay St. Louis house description
The home in Bay St Louis, MS is approximately 50 miles east of New Orleans, LA and 25 miles west of the Gulfport/Biloxi International Airport. Old Lazy River Road is a dead end with water on three sides. It ends at the bayou that connects to the Jordan River. The river flows into the Bay of Bay St Louis. The neighboring city to the east of the bay is Pass Christian. The bay is off the Mississippi Sound which has barrier Islands between it and the Gulf of Mexico. The area has good fishing for bass, red fish, speckled trout, shrimp, blue crab, etc. I have seen big tarpon in the lakes off the river about 2 miles (by water) north of the house off the Jordan River, just south of I10. These lakes are great for water sking.
The home is about 4 miles south of I-10 and 4 miles north of the beaches on the sound and the Gulf of Mexico. The golf course at the Hollywood Casino is within 4 miles of 4040 Old Lazy River Rd. It is the Bridges Golf Course. It is an Arnold Palmer designed course. A very challenging golf course.
Shopping at Wal-mart and K-mart as well as antique shopping is within 2 miles. Many good restaurants are in the area.

Owner response: Thank you Melissa for your review.
Everything from the very comfy beds to the hot showers to the well equipped kitchen met all of our expectations & more. Very clean and well maintained. Hubby wanted a rental where he could walk out the door to fish - some days of fishing were better than others. We also drove to the bay & fished there as well. We highly recommend this rental!

This was such a nice place to rest and get away from pressures of daily life. It was very clean and beautifully decorated, which added to the serenity. Everything we needed was already there. The dock was where we spent most of our time. Very peaceful and quiet. Thank you!

We stayed at the Kozy Kottage over the 4th of July, 4 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 small children. The house was very clean and well furnished. We enjoyed grilling out on the 4th with the gas grill on site. The covered carport area had a nice breeze despite the coastal heat and humidity. The kids enjoyed being on the water and did some fishing with poles and a cast net from the dock. The neighborhood was quiet and we had easy access to Highway 90 and 603. We enjoyed going to the Crab Festival, Clawzillas, and Lookout Steakhouse and Seafood (Gulfport) and spent one day at Ship Island. We would definitely stay here again.

Owner response: We enjoy the quiet setting and good fishing! Bay St louis is becoming a Meca for those who like a laid-back lifestyle. It is just that, at the Kozy Cottage on Old Lazy River Road. The shopping in Old Town is great too. Antiques and history are there to explore. You-all come back now!
We have stayed TWICE. It is the perfect location and the house is even better than the pictures!!!!! We will certainly be back

My family and I stayed here during spring break. We found the home to be very comfortable, clean, and nicley furnished. The location was in a very quiet residential area and was very easy to get over to New Orleans, and then to the Gulf to Biloxi. We even had the pleasure of having an alligator in the channel one moring. I would highly recommend this home to anyone and would stay again if in the area. I would also say that the pictures do not do this house justice, much nicer in person.

Owner response: We appreciate this positive review! Also, across the channel is a 200 acre wildlife Bird Sanctuary for the nature enthusiast. The fishing and crabbing can be very good off the dock. Come and relax in the quiet & peaceful Kozy Cottage.
A Great Experience!
A Great Experience!
This vacation rental was quiet and comfortable for the entire month we stayed there while moving into our new home. It has all the amenities of home, yet looks and feels like a five-star hotel room. The interior decorating is simply gorgeous. The neighborhood is sparsely populated but with homeowners who are quiet and respectable. The online photos are very accurate and represent what you see when you arrive. We would definitely stay here again.

A Great Retreat!!!
A Great Retreat!!!
We had a lovely stay at this cozy cottage over the Memorial Day Weekend. The house is even cuter than pictured and extremely comfortable. It is located on a quiet, peaceful little street. The neighbors were all very nice and extremely hospitable, as were the homeowners. The home was immaculately clean and well-maintained. We do a great deal of traveling and this was one of the most comfortable, peaceful places that we have stayed. It is great for fishing. We were able to launch our boat right down from the house and dock it right behind the house. We even caught freshwater catfish right off the pier at night!!! It is convienant to the Bay, Jourdan River, and the Gulf of Mexico. There is a Marina nearby so getting bait is no problem. The house is located just a very short distance from Waveland and is convienant to shopping and supplies. We definitely plan on staying here in the future. Hopefully within the next few weeks!!! We have already recommended this listing to our friends back home.

Year Purchased: 1999
About the owner: I like the water. We purchased the home to have a place to go boating, and to moor a 34' sailboat which is docked next door to the house. There is a private dock at the home itself with a 14' row boat available or bring your own boat or jet ski and have fun!
Why the Owner Chose Bay St. Louis:
This area is tranquil and still close to amenities. The home is on a canal which is good shelter for a boat in case of a storm. This dock can accommodate vessels up to 50' with a draft of up to 7' and has access to the Gulf of Mexico with height restrictions under 1 fixed bridge of 55' in height. This is suitable for sailboats, even at extreme low tide there is plenty of water depth. The back porch has views for miles over an ajacent ranch (green space).
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We enjoy the peace and quite of the neighborhood. Its relative seclusion yet close proximity to shopping, dinning and marine environment. The New Orleans Aquairium of the Americas, its shoping, Jaz and night life just an hour drive away. The Water park in Gulfport 20 minutes to the east. The Wolf River Canoe Adventures also within 15 minute drive. And downtown Bay St Louis has Antique Shops, Art dealers, dinning and quaint small town feel-good environment.
