This is one of the best locations in the Northeast. We are only 800' from Sachuest Beach, also known as Second Beach, featuring some of the best surfing on the east coast. The more than a mile long beach is perfect for sun bathing and all kinds of fun in the sun including kayaking, fishing and boating. Newport with its fantastic shopping, night life and restaurants is only a five-minute drive or a short bike ride away. We are very close to St. George's School with wonderful tennis courts.

This apartment is located in a large historic carriage house. This two level apartment is private and has just been renovated. There are three bedrooms (2 with a queen size bed in each and one with a trundle bed) and one bath. The apartment features hardwood floors and a beautiful kitchen. This apartment also has a washer and dryer, cable, WiFi and off-street parking. There is an ocean access easement from the property.

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment

This is the best location on the east coast. The beach is just a five minute walk away. Downtown Newport with its shopping, nightlife and fantastic restaurants is just a five minute drive or short bike ride away. So many things to see and do like biking around Newport and hiking around Sachuest point and the Norman bird sanctuary. Of course the beach is right here with all that it has to offer - basking in the sun, surfing in the waves, swimming in the cool water, sailing, windsurfing - you name it. The events that take place here during the summer are too numerous to count - every kind of music festival you can imagine, film festival, tall ships festival, chowder cook-offs to name just a few. Can't think of a better vacation spot in the northeast.

My husband, son and I have lived at this location for many years. Everything you could want is here. The ocean, the excitement of Newport. The changing of the seasons. My son is an avid surfer - just a five minute walk to the surf. We love to bike around Newport and hike around Sachuest point and the Norman bird sanctuary. The events that take place here during the summer are too numerous to count - every kind of music festival you can imagine, film festival, tall ships festival, chowder cook-offs to name just a few. Wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

    • If you are looking for a place near Newport RI this is a perfect choice. The apartment was like being in a small home with up and downstairs. Much better than being in a motel room. The apartment was in a perfect location to the beach and short drive to downtown Newport. We chose this place for six friends (all adults) and we had plenty of room and very comfortable. Trish thought of everything for our needs away from home. Pick this place for a perfect get a way. We will stay again on our next visit to Newport.

    • I am a native of Middletown and knew that the location of Bass Rocks Cottage would be great, but the charm and comfort of the cottage exceeded our expectations. Our family (2 adults, 2 adolescents) was very comfortable during our weekend stay. We would happily return on a future visit.

    • We come to Aquidneck island every year and this was by far the best place we have ever stayed. Second Beach is one of our favorite places in the world and to be in probably the closest possible location was ideal. The cottage is lovely, with a well appointed kitchen, and the owners were fabulous. Would stay again in a heartbeat. If you pass up this listing and rent something else in Middletown, you are making a mistake!

    • The apartment is quiet, clean and comfortable (2 Adults and 3 kids). Second beach just down the road is phenomenal! We had a great time swimming, digging and boogie boarding from sunrise to sunset! Also, had fun kicking around Newport.

    • Location/location/location!! We loved staying in this quaint and quiet apartment. If you love the beach, love to surf,fish,bike into town or cook!This is the place. Great spacious kitchen and a farmers market on the weekends for fresh produce. We'll be back!
