Quiet and relaxing
Quiet and relaxing
Stayed here for four nights in October. Access to this place is a bit hair-raising for flatlanders, but the road is in good condition and we had no problems in or out. Just take it slowly. Master bedroom is on lower level with two bedrooms on main floor. Overall cleanliness was decent, all surfaces and floor good. Bedding was fine and no bugs, mice, or other surprises. Lower level suffered from a mild mustiness, that we cleared by opening the sliding doors and running the ceiling fan daily. All appliances we used worked fine. Bathrooms are a bit dated. No issues with water quality or hot water. Did not run hot tub, and it was empty of water. View is partially blocked by trees, but still some memorable images. Very secluded location, and not much noise other than turkeys calling and bird song. Several other cabins along the access road, but widely spaced and no inadvertent interactions. Good overall location. Bryson City about 30 minutes. Used the place for meditation, reading, rest, with some park exploring and lunch / shopping in Bryson City. Owners are reasonable and honest.

Owner response: The reviewer concluded with . . . "the owners are reasonable and honest." Enough said. The hot tub is a do it yourself amenity - fresh water for each guest.
Beautiful Home and Scenery
Beautiful Home and Scenery
My family and I spent a week here. The home was very comfortable and the property description was very accurate. This was a wonderful location to be close to nature and take day trips. The wildlife that visited us were squirrels, raccoon, flying squirrels and lots of birds. (We kept the feeders full) The animals were fun to watch. I would recommend this house as an excellent choice. We drove through the Smokies, to Knoxville, TN, Sieverville, TN to go to drive-through zoo, Franklin for gem hunting, Bryson City to ride the train. Close enough to the National Park to take advantage of the hiking trails.

Owner response: There is a lot of competition out there for guests to choose from when they plan their vacation. We really appreciate responses from guests and especially when guests find the property is as advertised. Thanks for your input.
We had never rented a house before, so we had a few apprehensions. This experience has totally spoiled us! The house was beautiful and the hot tub was great! Obviously, it is still used by Tom and his family because it has the "feel" of a lived in home. The beds are comfortable and my wife wanted to take the couch home with us! The views were wonderful and the solitude was unbelievable. Yet, we were still minutes away from everything we wanted to do. If you are tired of the commercialism that plagues much of the Smokies, you will love this place.

Very relaxing and cozy!
Very relaxing and cozy!
We stayed for 5 days and it was absolutely wonderful. The house was great - it was nice to cook our own food, but yes to shopping beforehand! It is not a quick run to the store if you forget something! The master suite was amazing. It was very beautiful with all the wood. We slept with both sliding doors open and the gas fireplace on - made for perfect spring nights. The views are gorgeous. It was so neat to just sit on the deck and watch the mountains 'smoke'. All of the touches; the decorations, candles, art, made it feel very homey, without feeling like we were invading your home. It was a lot cozier than the normal sparse vacation home. The 2 things we felt like we missed was having a light out on the deck with the hot tub - it was pretty dark out there at night, and a dvd player in the master suite. The hot tub was a lot of fun. We'd never used a wood tub before and it was cool. Very comfortable and easy to use. The driveway was intimidating the first time, and after that it was no big deal. We explored all over WNC. Having the house to come back to each night was wonderful. Thanks for a wonderful time!

A little piece of Heaven!
A little piece of Heaven!
What a wonderful, peaceful & homie cabin! Entering the cabin I was immediately enveloped in a warmth and relaxation feel. The view was spectacular - great idea to have the large sliding glass doors to view the mountains, trees, and of course the wildlife. The driveway was a tad challenging - g on the Fall-rainy day - with all the leaves on the incline - but I had a master-driver, whom did well. The master suite was 'sweet'. Love the area of the cabin - was close enough to drive to all attractions - away from the 'frantic business' and traffic - very peaceful and calm. Gatlinburg was 1 1/2 hours away - which time was unnoticable - as we were enjoying the beautiful drive through the mountains. Highly recommend Clingman's Dome (fall/winter bring your coats/gloves/hats) - snow and very cold at the top. Clingman's Dome is also on the way to Gatlinburg. Also, highly recommend the Cherokee Indian Nation museums and authentic shops (also on the way to Gatlinburg). Paul's restaurant - authentic Cherokee food - super staff! Would also recommend to shop and bring your groceries with you - the trek to-and-from grocery stores is not convenient (don't forget plenty of fire starter). There are fast-food restaurants in Bryson City - not far - cute town & shops. The 'locals' seemed a little confused about "breakfast" places lol. The 'locals' very friendly and nice. Recommend the FlapJack Pancake House in Gatlinburg - very good food and nice staff. We had such a wonderful time!!! Thank you for the sharing of your wonderful cabin - looking forward to another trip! Wish there was a place to 'share' pictures, for the review. :) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! 5/5 stars!
