Year Purchased: 2005
We grew up on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. From childhood both of us were in boats all summer long. For many years we searched for the 'Perfect' Florida waterfront town to settle in. From the Florida Keys north to Fort Pierce. The old fishing captains up on Ocean City, Maryland always talked of Stuart, Florida and several wintered in Manatee Pocket. We were eating lunch in Hobe Sound one weekend, found a realtor and discovered 'Stuart'. That was the end of our quest and the beginning of incredible Offshore and Inshore Fishing adventures.
The Unique Benefits of this Condominium
Mariner Cay Community is gated and guarded. The clubhouse at the Marina has gym and pool table, there are tennis courts and two swimming pools (one is at the marina overlooking Mantee Pocket). It is an established community with waterfront houses and condominiums. Mariner Cay Marina is a large facility that offers fuel and transient boat slips. Naturally, there is incredible inshore and offshore fishing. Offshore - you can stay near shore or run across to the Bahama Corner or West End (60 miles+/-). Inshore you have the St. Lucie River, Indian River and the St. Lucie Inlet is about 10 minutes from your boat slip. There are plenty of restaurants, within walking distance, old town Stuart, and major shopping out on US1. The historic downtown Stuart has a waterfront park, the Lyric Theater and the old district full of quaint shops and dining. Hutchinson Island and the beaches are a 10 minute drive. West Palm Beach International Airport and Stuart Airport are within close proximity. Kayaking, biking and running are always an avenue for exercise. Sandsprit Park and the county boat ramps are within walking distance.
