This was such a wonderful relaxing stay. Rosemarie the owner has definitely thought of absolutely everything and then some! Our youngest daughter really enjoyed watching the videos and our elder daughter has loved having the extra space (especially the nook!). We felt so comfortable we wish we could have stayed for longer. Truly loved the home, Medford and Boston and hope to return.

Fantastic stay in the Boston Area

Last month, we (three adults) had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful apartment for a week. The location was great - a couple of minutes walk to Medford centre and easy access to public transport into Boston. We had hired a car as we wanted to do some day trips around New England as well and we never had a problem finding parking on the street and were very close to a number of highways and interstates going north, south and west of Boston. The apartment was a real home away from home in every way. It came equipped with everything we could possible need - we were truly amazed as Rose had thought of everything. The beds were very comfortable and the shower had the best power of almost any shower I've experienced - you just didn't want to get out of it! The safety deposit box was a comfort too and it was easily big enough to hold a regular laptop, SLR camera, etc. I found everything in the listing to be accurate and the apartment was very clean and well kept. Having travelled from Ireland we didn't have access to data on our phones due to the expense of roaming and having access to the free wifi whenever we were in the apartment was great. What else can I say but that I would recommend this apartment to family and friends without reservation. My only wish is that we could go back tomorrow. This really was a fantastic option and we couldn't have been happier that we found this place and that we were lucky enough that it was free the week that we were travelling. Lovely Apartment Just Outside Boston

Fantastic, comfortable apartment in Medford just outside Boston. Easy to get to Boston via public transport or car (though parking in downtown Boston we found was prohibitively expensive). The apartment has everything our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 16-year-olds needed). We enjoyed our breakfasts out on the deck at the back of the property. Beds were very comfy. Nice also to have so many towels. The owner Rose supplied lots of little extras -- shampoo, shower stuff, tea, coffee. Plus advice on good things to see in the area. We very much enjoyed our stay in Medford and would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family and will definitely return if we are in the Boston area. It was nice to be able to just walk down the road into Medford to eat in the evening. Rose recommended a lovely Thai restaurant just 5 minutes' walk away.

Appartment has easy access from the airport straight off I93, and public transport to Boston downtown via bus or Medford West train station which is 10 minutes by car. I would strongly recommend this spacious accommodation with use of a deck which is in Medford a relatively affluent suburb. Visiting in August we found it hot and humid so air conditioning was a definite plus. Easy street parking opposite any time of day. This apartment is located in a quiet suburb of Boston. Its is easy to reach the town with public transport. The apartment is very spacious and has all the facilities one would desire. It is very clean. The owner provides good service. We felt very much at home in this apartment. For a visit to Boston we would recommend this apartment!

Our family had a wonderful stay in this Medford home. It was great to have space to move about and to make quick meals. Anything that we needed was available at our fingertips. Apologises to Rosemarie for not submitting this review before, it is not a reflection of how our stay went. Rosemarie was very helpful and professional prior to confirming our booking and throughout the whole process leading up to our arrival and throughout our stay. The apartment was just as described and was ideal for our needs, myself, husband and two adult children. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with plenty of towels, toiletries if you needed them, tin foil, cling film etc in the kitchen, not to mention a bowl of sweets and some soft drinks and milk in the fridge. Good location for visiting Boston city, either drive or got the bus to the local MBTA station and could be in the centre in 40 mins door to door. Also took the bus into Harvard which was an enjoyable trip with a guided tour of the University. We hired a car and parking near the apartment was never a problem. Having a car enabled us to explore further afield, I would recommend a day trip to Rockport and the North shore stopping off at Woodman's of Essex on the way home for some fried clams. The Minute Man Historical Park is also a great day out away from the city. In the city itself follow the Freedom Trail, taking time to explore as you go and we thought a Fenway Park stadium tour was also a must. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Boston which was at least in part to the comfort of this rental which is one of the best we have stayed in.

This place was truly a gem! Well located in a safe neighbourhood with excellent access to transportation. The apartment was clean and well appointed. Special attention paid to small details. My family and I just spent 2 weeks at this lovely home while our home underwent a renovation. It is so beautifully decorated, clean and neat and all the fine details are attended to. Plenty of amenities to use in the cabinets and shower and all eco-friendly! Rose and Guy are so accommodating and kind. Even my kids thought it was a cool place to stay. They are 16 and 13. We walked to Medford Square for breakfast and dinner sometimes because it was so convenient. So happy this property was available to us! Walt & Chris Oneschuk

We had a wonderful time! Rose was so friendly and helpful and hospitable, providing a beautiful place for us to stay with very comfortable beds and extra little touches all over. The decorations are delightful and we felt right at home. We enjoyed walking into town and had an easy drive to the train station, which we took each day, so no driving in downtown Boston was necessary for us. In all the places we have rented, this one was given the most care. You could tell it was important to Rose that we have a wonderful time, and we certainly did. I highly recommend!

Wir waren 4 Tage mit meiner 5-köpfigen Familie in Medford. Idealer Ausgangspunkt für einen Boston-Aufenthalt! Die Wohnung ist gross, schön eingerichtet und gut ausgestattet. Im Erdgeschoss wohnen die Vermieter, eine nette hilfreiche Familie. Alles in allem ein sehr empfehlenswerte "Location". Me, my husband and two teenage children stayed in this lovely property. We were so impressed with all of the details in the apartment. It is meticulously clean and full of bright and colorful decorations. There is even some original art hanging on the walls. As stated, Boston is a short subway ride away. We had a car so we would drive for about 5 minutes to the subway station jump on the train and 10 minutes later we were in Boston. We didn't have to worry about the traffic or high parking costs in the city. Overall, we highly recommend this property and will be back. Thank you Rose for your hospitality.

Medford Apartment Review

I stayed at the Medford apartment for three nights with my husband, my son and his girlfriend. Rose was very welcoming, and there were lots of little treats in the cupboards that we discovered. Everything was beautifully decorated and very clean. We were so comfortable there - able to spread out and watch television or a movie on the cozy living room furniture. it was nice to be able to walk into Medford Square for lunch and the convenience store. We took the T into Boston a few times from the Alewife Station, and it was less than 15 minutes away. All in all, a very enjoyable and relaxing experience. Everyone loved it!

We were 2 couples and found this a perfect sanctuary after busy tourist days in Boston. Direct public transport into the centre of Boston was literally at the end of the street and was only $3.50 pp. Also at the end of the street were convenience stores, wine shops etc. Full supermarket within walking distance but about 20 mins. The accommodation itself was clean, very comfortable and the hosts provided many extras which were much appreciated especially as we were from overseas. Great tourist information at the house. Would certainly recommend this accommodation to people wanting to visit Boston without having to stay in a city hotel. This really is a home away from home.

Great Stay in Boston

I was impressed with how clean the apartment was and how much space we had. We easily fit four adults and one two year old. The apartment was filled with a lot of extra touches that made the stay enjoyable. Some toys, books, a high chair and crib for my two year old. Extra toiletries in case we forgot something. There was even some food and drinks in the fridge so we didn't have to rush right out and get stuff. Medford square was a quick walk away if you wanted to go out and get food or ice cream. The parking wasn't a problem at all, we easily found a close space every time we needed to park. The twin beds are a bit hard. If you have adults sleeping on them I would recommend bringing an egg crate if you're used to a softer mattress. The queen is the other room I found to be very comfortable. Overall a great place to stay. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

From the first email I knew we'd found a gem - both home, location and "Rose". The photos show the home exactly, modern, clean, spaciousand very secure. Rose, you have made us feel so special, so at home and welcome. We cannot thank you enough for all those "extra touches" and numerous clean towels. We've had the most amazing 3 weeks here - packed in so much and spent precious time catching up with family. The apartment is so convenient for Boston . Thanks for all the bed changes! Life without the "T", maple syrup, and Dunkin Donuts "Boston Creme" will be sad! Back to a healthy diet! I'll be recommending "An Extra Bed" to everyone! Thanks again. I had a great time for 12 days in "An Extra Bed"! It was simply amazing and I rather felt like it as 1200 sq.ft. hotel suite. Rose and her familiy provided outstanding service. The nicely furnished and decorated apartment is beautiful and made me feel like home. I will definitely come back and look forward to it!

Thank you for sharing your home with us. We can only echo your previous guests' comments about your wonderful hospitality. The standard of accommodation was exceptional. We have loved visiting Boston and have traveled as far as Newburyport and Martha's Vineyard. Our favorite place has been Rockport, and our biggest disappointment was Salem. For future guests, the little Thai restaurant down the road is absolutely excellent!

Thank you for making our stay in Boston so memorable. I know that you think that we were crazy to cram in as much as we did, but that is our way and seeing the NH trees was an integral part of our agenda. Everything in the home was perfect and finding the plug adapter a life saver. We will not hesitate to recommend your home to any of our friends heading in this direction. This is a perfect place for a family vacation in the Boston area. It is clean, spacious, and incredibly well-equipped. A twenty-minute ride on the 326 express bus will deposit you in the heart of downtown Boston (thanks for the advice, Rose). Rose and her family were very gracious and welcoming, but also completely unobtrusive. Highly recommended.

Just to say thank you for the very comfortable accommodation. We have stayed in many rented properties and never had all the things you provided. It was a real pleasure to arrive and be able to make tea and coffee without having to go shopping first! The thoughtfulness of all the "small" things was fantastic. The description of the property on line was was very accurate. The property was immaculate and booking the apartment was made very easy by Rosemarie's prompt response. Excellent Town House in Boston/ Medford

We had a lovely stay at the Cerundolos' House. It was absolutely stunning and nicely decorated. The house is situated in Medford, a suburb of Boston, MA. The local transport, supermarket, gas station and small shops are nearby. The streets are safe, clean and the hood is friendly. We loved the paintings. The Air condition was essential due to the hot summer 2010! We can recommend this house for a Boston-trip, it is a good base for trips and sighseeing in Boston. Dr. T., Oral Surgeon, Germany

Great location. Clean, comfortable, spacious, well furnished and equipped apartment. Could not have asked for more. Thank you Rose for making our stay in the Boston area such a pleasurable one. Will definitely recommend.

My daughter, teenage grand-daughters and myself stayed here for a weekend for my aunt's 80th birthday. We all loved our home away from home....the girls loved the vibrant colors of the decor, paintings, and my daughter and I loved all the little amenities as in the cream for the coffee!! No running out in the early a.m. The bathroom was equally well-equipped and Rose is a charming and helpful owner. We will definitely be back to stay here instead of a hotel room whenever we have occasion to visit our relatives.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We travelled from England on the 31st December to spend a week in this lovely apartment. It provides a great base for exploring Boston and the surrounding country. Beds were really comfortable, kitchen extremely well equipped, and Rosemary and Guy such thoughtful and supportive hosts. I am recommending this apartment to everyone! Coming from England it was a real privilege to spend a week in the community of Medford: we enjoyed visiting the local restaurants - we would particularly recommend Bistro 5 in West Medford which is a destination full of character but also enjoyed visiting Colleen's for breakfast just a short walk away. Even in the depth of winter with lots of snow driving to Concord and Salem was really straight forward. Louisa May Alcott's house was worth a 3000 mile trip in itself. We quickly became expert at riding the T into town. Harvard was magical in the snow and very accessible from Alewife station. As a holiday this exceeded our expectations by a long way. The apartment was very thoughtfully equipped and Rosemary and Guy the perfect hosts.

Our family had such a wonderful stay at "An Extra Bed"...we felt so lucky to have found it! The apartment was both beautifully decorated and completely family friendly...not an easy combination to achieve. We especially appreciated the extra touches...the terrific smelling soaps and lotions; little chocolates in the cabinet; spices, oil, and condiments; movies galore; sharp knives and plentiful cooking utensils; extra fluffy towels; great kids books...I could go on and on. When we travel we always stay at vacation rental homes, and this is the only one where we kept saying "Wow!" at every turn. The location of the home couldn't be beat either. It was a short walking distance to Medford's little downtown, with coffee, stores, and restaurants, and only a 15 minute drive downtown. Rosemarie was the quintessential host, incredibly gracious and accommodating. We highly recommend "An Extra Bed" to other travelers. We just hope this doesn't box us out for our visit to Boston next year!

As I told you during our departure, we've used HomeAway on a few occasions but "An Extra Bed" has far surpassed anything else we've rented. You've spoiled us and made it very difficult for anyone else to meet your standards. Everything was perfect. It was a pleasure to meet you and your family and to share your home. My family and I have been renting vacation properties for 5 years. Never before have I been compelled to write a review. The pictures of this home do not do it justice. We felt like we were on a page from House Beautiful magazine. Everything was immaculate, comfortable, and artfully decorated. There was an overabundance of high quality cookware, dinnerware, entertaining pieces, towels, and linens, not to mention a variety of shampoo, conditioner, body washes, and dish and hand soaps, both bar and liquid!. The kids loved having a VCR in their bedroom along with an entire library of movies to choose from. My husband and I, on the other hand, enjoyed watching a DVD (from the same library) in peace in the living room. My husband was in heaven with wireless internet and a Dunkin Donuts half a block away. I was in heaven with the variety of take-out menus that delivered (great pizza!). The location is ideal, a very short ride to the train/bus station where we left our car each day and the kids had fun taking the T on all our travels in and out of the Boston area. This home and the owners exceeded our expectations based on our past experiences with rental properties. We are grateful that they allowed us to use their beautiful home and we will be going back.

This was my first time using Home Away & BELIEVE me I’m a very skeptical person. The pictures are EXACTLY what you get. UNBELIEVABLE in every sense of the word.., First class in hospitality, Very courteous, impeccable cleanliness, beautiful decorated & Rosemarie & Guy make you feel so welcomed. Take my advice… stay away from the hotels… & stay here… you will not be disappointed!!!

Rose and Guy could not have been any more attentive. This apartment was meticulously clean, well appointed( all included updated kitchen with eating area, beautiful dining room and living room, 2 lovely comfortable bedrooms, outside deck, t.v.with cable, wi-fi, dvds, vhs, games,and with luxury linens.). It is only a short walk to restaurants, post office & bakery in a very safe gorgeous neighborhood.Only a short train or bus ride to downtown Boston. Free on street parking! We highly recommend this rental and would return.
