Award Winning Romantic Getaway!
Our rustic but chic, private and romantic two room barn is safely grounded near a bluff above the emerald green and azure blue waters of Puget Sound. Beneath the bluff the treasures of this mystical land await you. Majestic and timeless, Mt. Baker stands guard on the distant horizon.
Quiet, cozy and as comfortable as home, the Big Red Barn truly "is" a home away from home. Close the barn doors and close out the rest of the world or swing them wide open as you sit in an overstuffed chair, inviting in the invigorating Northwest breeze and admiring the beautiful meditation pond with it's soothing waterfall.
Our resident Bald Eagles will surely give flight to your fancy and the distant sounds of lapping waves will refresh your mind and spirit.
This charming hideaway really was a barn. Born in the 1890s, and classically renovated by Todd and Carol Eskelin, the barn features open beam ceilings, antique windows and numerous rustic and unique accents. In addition to the luxurious bath with a rain-shower head and jetted tub for two, there are two rooms - one a private bedroom with a cozy sitting room area, the other has a custom designed gourmet kitchenette and an extra comfortable queen sleeper sofa. The Big Red Barn is big enough for the whole family to get away from it all!

Why the Owner Chose Port Townsend
In the beautiful Victorian Seaport of Port Townsend, WA, there's lots to do, no matter what the weather. The Big Red Barn is just a 2 minute drive or a 10 minute walk - by beach or road - from Port Townsend, one of only three historic Victorian seaports on the National Historic Register. Quaint, photogenic, and full of unique shopping opportunities, Port Townsend is a destination not to miss. Fine dining, theaters, art galleries, antique stores, and interesting clubs mesh with a 1960s funkiness which is uniquely Port Townsend.
The Unique Benefits of this
Award Winning Romantic Getaway! World renowned travel guru, Peter Greenberg (featured on NBC's Today Show with Matt Lauer and Katie Couric) picked the Big Red Barn as one of the World's 10 Most Unusual Places to Stay. The Big Red Barn has also been featured in many magazine articles and travel guides (such as "The Best Places to Kiss in the Northwest" and "Treasures of Western Washington",) as a unique, charming and romantic vacation rental. Our rustic but chic, private and romantic two room barn is safely grounded near a bluff above the emerald green and azure blue waters of Puget Sound.
