My wife and I and our teenage son stayed in La Perla for five nights this past June. It was simply wonderful. The place was so clean, lots of natural light and well equipped to serve our needs. But the best was its location, offering great views of the lake, walking proximity to it and a nearby beach and in a relatively quiet part of the lake but easy to drive to the busier parts. Our son loved the flat screen tv with lots of channels and tivo capability and the flat's internet wireless connection. We enjoyed the welcoming bottle of wine, the well furnished kitchen and comfortable beds.

DEUTSCH Meine Frau, unsere zwei Kinder, und ich waren für zwei Wochen Sommer 2009 in La Perla unterbracht und hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit. Die herrliche Ausblicke von der Wohnung, bzw. vom Balkon, sind einfach wunderbar, und das Haus ist in der Nähe von einem netten Strand, den man schnell zu Fuß erreichen kann -- unsere Kinder fanden das besonders toll. Auch sehr praktisch war die Fähre, die von dem Strand nach Locarno, Ascona, Luino, Cannobio usw. abfährt. Diese Fähre ermöglichte den leichten Zugang zu den vielen kulturellen Veranstaltungen in Locarno und Ascona. Ich bin Professor für Filmwissenschaft in den USA, so hatten wir einen einfachen Zugang zum ganzen Filmprogramm während Locarnos wichtiges Filmfestivals. Die Wohnung ist sauber und schön möbliert, mit Fernseher und Internet, wirklich perfekt für eine Familie. Wir werden diesen Sommer in La Perla sein und freuen uns sehr darauf -- unsere Kinder plaudern schon sehr begeistert darüber. ENGLISH My wife, our two kids and I stayed two weeks in summer 2009 in La Perla and had a wonderful time. The fantastic views from the apartment, especially from the balcony, are breathtaking, and the house is near a lovely beach, which one can easily walk to - our children were especially excited at that prospect. Also very convenient was the ferry that leaves right from the beach to Locarno, Ascona, Luino, Cannobio etc. This ferry allowed us to access the many cultural events in Locarno and Ascona. I am a professor of film studies in the U.S., so we had easy and beautiful means to get to all the films during the Locarno Film Festival. The apartment is clean and nicely furnished, with TV and internet, really perfect for a family. We will be back this summer at La Perla and are very excited - our children already talk nonstop about it.

Ourwounderful stay at La Perla

We have been to La Perla already twice this year and we will be there again in August. What a wonderful and comfortable apartment this is and is in such an excellent location. The views of Lago Maggiore from the apartment are spectacular, day and night and only 20 minutes drive to Locarno or a short ferry ride across the lake. This apartment has everything we need, home from home ! Having WiFi at the apartment makes it so convienient to your local research. We would recommend it to anyone looking to explore this region of Switzerland (and Italy). Mark Adams, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Memorable experience

We just returned back to Amsterdam from a memorable stay at this holiday home and are extremely satisfied. Even before we finalized the rental, we were impressed by Mark's prompt and friendly responses. He provided extensive information about the accommodation, driving directions and things to do. At the apartment there were dozens of flyers with more information and printouts detailing surrounding areas as well as practical tips about the TV/Satellite/Washer operations etc. The apartment has an enviable location looking over the Maggiore lake and served as a good base for day trips to Lugano, Locarno, Ascona, Milano, Mendrisio, Bellinzona and Stresa. The view on to the lake at night was unforgettable and we could sit for hours just soaking it in. It gave us a real good feel for the Swiss life in the Italian Alps. The Apartment is modern and spacious and almost fully equipped. We only missed an ironing board and steam iron. Parking was a small problem but we managed to parallel park right opposite the garage door avoiding the walk downhill to the public parking and we had a relatively big station wagon. For smaller cars, it really should not be an issue. All in all, we highly recommend the place and will be coming back.

We had a fantastic time at the apartment. It was so well-equipped, we wanted for nothing. The location was excellent, allowing us a perfect springboard to places such as Locarno, Lugano, Milan, Luino, Vira, Lake Como, Ascona and Brissago. The changing views of Lake Maggiore were amazing from the sun glistening on the calm surface to whitecaps with the snow coming across it and all contrasted by palm trees and mountains. We loved the bread from the local Crai store, as well as the lasagna we bought there on our first night before we started going to the area restaurants. We took advantage of all the information in the apartment, which turned out to be great advice. The whole experience was truly unforgettable.

A Wonderful Rental Home in Ticino

We completely forgot to write in your guest book and so wanted to take this chance to tell you how much we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your home in Switzerland. We absolutely loved the place - it was perfect for our family and was the centerpiece of our wonderful vacation. It was amazing to go to bed every night gazing at the lights of Locarno and to wake-up every morning to the beauty of the lake & mountains. Thank you for providing us with such a well-kept home. The bottle of wine was a wonderful treat when we arrived (it has been a LONG drive that day ... scenic as we took the route over a couple passes, but much longer than we'd expected with our two small children in tow) ... and we opened it immediately upon putting the kids to bed that night! Thank you too for all of the many local maps/tourist books that you left for our use - they certainly helped us make the most of our week in the area. We highly recommend this beautiful rental home complete with a garden house!
