Empire Rose is one of Empire's centennial homes nestled in the heart of town on Front Street within one block of the library, antique and gift shops, grocery store, restaurant and ice cream parlor. It's only a few blocks from the wonderful Lake Michigan sandy beach and a new styled playground. There is also an adjacent sandy beach on South Bar Lake for the little ones.
This warm and cozy home boasts two living area with comfy furniture to help you relax during your summer escape. There is a newly remodeled bathroom with an extra large walk-in shower. There are new appliances and new carpeting. There is a nice private deck with table and chairs to enjoy your summer evenings and barbeques.
Empire is centrally located within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore which provides a plethora of outdoor activities including great hiking, biking, swimming and scenic drives. The famous Dune Climb and the awe inspiring Pierce Stocking scenic drive are only five miles north.
Glen Arbor, Leland and Frankfort are all only a short scenic drive from Empire and all offer great shopping and restaurants. The new Frankfort to Sleeping Bear Dunes scenic Lake Michigan boat tours are now up an running!
Other Area attractions include 6 golf courses within 25 miles, 15 national Lakeshore hiking trails, miles and miles of unspoiled public beaches, canoeing/kayaking rivers, and several wineries in the Leelanau Peninsula.
Our house has been offered for vacation rentals for just two years but we already have many returning guests. They tell us the convenience and comfort of this home is perfect for their families. The classic memory for almost all of them is walking across the street on a warm summer's evening and getting an ice cream and then taking a short stroll to the beach for another magnificent Lake Michigan sunset. Make sure you ask the locals about the famous "green flash"!
There is so much to do here in Empire and Leelanau County that you won't have time for it all in just one week!
