Run or Xc Ski 5k or Canoe Lake MacIntosh, Tennis, Rocky Mountain Views
- Minimum stay:5 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This property is especially friendly to families and couples that enjoy a 5K cross country ski or run through open space, two groomed parks, tennis and volleyball courts and a mountain view. All right across the street. A furnished deck, fenced back yard, canoe, picnic wagon and children's outdoor toys make for summer fun. Take a 15-mile bike ride on the Greenway or drive 44 minutes to Rocky Mountain National Park and its 355 miles of hiking trails.
WIFI, cable tv, dvds, table and electronic games, a wood burning fireplace and a fully furnished kitchen with extras make being inside nearly as much fun as being outside. Cooks will enjoy finding tools, appliances and even basic spices available for meal preparation, inside or outside on the charcoal grill. See VRBO.com #252109 for more details.
Just inside, the kitchen has all the appliances, cookware, eating and serving supplies you could need, including a coffee maker, microwave, Kitchen Aid blender and a Kitchen Aid mixer. Basic cooking supplies are available if you need a cup of flour, some salt or a pinch of spices.
From a viewing deck, accessible by sliding and french doors off the master and 2nd bedroom, enjoy a long view of Lake Macintosh, Long's Peak--great light and shadows in early mornings and dusk year round! Play tennis or practice your basketball shots (dribble the short walk to the half court). Put the kids in the big yellow utility wagon with a picnic, soccer ball, roller racers, fishing poles or kites to either of the two parks you pass on your run around the lake where they can play in well-maintained playgrounds and grassy areas--plenty of room for Frisbee tossing or kite flying.
Fishing (catch and release), volleyball courts in each of the two parks, tennis courts across the street and a half-court for basketball pick-up in one of the parks. Owner provides tennis rackets, volleyball, basketball, soccer ball and roller racers for the kids. Oh, yes, and a canoe with nifty trailer, paddles and life jackets for two adults, a teen and a toddler can be pulled across the street for a fun hour or two on the water where you may be the only craft on the lake.
Enjoy evening visits or family game time in the family room. Television with cable, video and board games are available, including a tabletop mini pool table. A computer for checking your email and WIFI is available throughout. Or, if it is chilly outside, a wood fire in the fireplace will warm you up and the firewood is provided. Owner is on property to care for yards, snow and to promptly address your needs and concerns.
Longmont is a surprising community, with an excellent library, interesting downtown with lots of art and antique shops, a beautiful commemorative rose garden with dozens of varieties, bicycle, rollerblading or walking paths, including the St. Vrain and the Left Hand Greenways among others, recreation and athletic facilities including the YMCA and Longmont Recreation Center (both have indoor pools and water slides), lots of restaurants and fast food outlets.
Boulder's ''no growth'' city ordinances have pushed many retail markets to Longmont. In that 1/8 mile from the home, you will find Safeway, Blockbuster, Green Cleaners, Subway, Daylight Donuts, Restaurants and Pizza and in Longmont you will find major restaurants and shopping within short drives or bicycle rides.
Within 2 hours of many ski areas, including some of Colorado's smaller gems, such as El Dora. Estes Park and the infamous Stanley Hotel is just 45 minutes west at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Forest.

Our family enjoyed our stay in Carolina's home. She was very gracious,we were treated like family from the minute that we arrived. The properity was just as described in the listing. If you are looking for a Home Away in th Longmont area, it would be a good choice.Recommended for: Families with young children.
Owner response: Cyndy: Your review is kind. Thank you so much! I do hope to see you again when you may have time for a visit. Sincerely, Carolyna 303-772-1714

Most excellent lodgings. It was our thrid visit in two years. Very comfortable, spacious and commodious home with all the amenities. Extras are the back yard with deck and place to grill outside and dine outside. Downstairs den is cool and spacious for hours of relaxation and visiting. Not airconditioned but an attic fan cools the house nicely at night and closing the house tight during hot days keeps everything comfortable with ceiling and floor fans. The park and lake across the street make outside relaxation easy and convenient and frame an expansive view of the front range, Rocky Mountain National Park and the Twin Peaks. Our home away from home in the Denver area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Our favorite guests return and the Newtons come often to Longmont. Meeting their grand and great grandson and great grandson's mother is a joy and pleasure. We consider them friends. Because the weather was cool during their visit, Frank didn't notice the installation of a new evaporative cooler that will make the home even more comfortable this summer! We thank our returning guests with a discounted rate for their stay.

Stayed at Harvard House for about six weeks. The area was great! MacIntosh Lake was the highlight of each day. The Longmont area had many good places to eat. The bedrooms were just fine. The lower level was my tv place. Comfortable to watch tv. Carolyna went the extra mile to ensure the cable tv had exactly the stations I had requested. We were able to park in the driveway, off street. Convenient and safe. Sat down to share a treat with Carolyna. Enjoyable time as Carolyna is a very interesting woman.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Live by a lake, have use of a canoe, bikes, and tennis rackets and live in beauty--Carolyna is a superb hostess. She provides a home that has everything--3 levels of living space, internet, computer, cable tv, lovely enclosed back yard, grill and a large parking area right beside the house. She allowed us to keep two cars and motorcycle there. She welcomed us with a well-stocked kitchen, spotless home, all top-quality appliances. In addition, Carolyna provided us with a wealth of information about the place, coupons for icecream and stays at Breckinridge. She had a supply of toys for children and gave our daughter a gift when we left. She was helpful in all regards. Right across the street is lovely Lake MacIntosh, about 3.5 miles around with park land, volleyball courts, prairie dogs, bunnies and farmland. We ran and biked around it most days. Unlike some other vrbo hosts, Carolyna is accommodating and kind. She told us that she "had our back," should anything go wrong. The first day I broke a plate and she said it was fine. We have stayed at other places with airbnb where the host quibbles about every little thing we did (cigarette butt on the patio) and we have also experienced one host who accused us of breaking everything she could think of after we left in an attempt to gouge more money out of us. Because you never can tell with vrbo hosts, we want you to know that Carolyna is pure gold and worth every penny you spend on her place. I highly recommend her place for any vrbo traveler who knows what I'm talking about! On top of the high quality of the home, Longmont is gorgeous. I had no idea what beauty lay in the shadow of Mt. Longmont. We were treated to sunrises and sunsets day after day, moon rises over the mountain range, silvery evening lake runs and easy access to the mountains.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

There is a man renting the basement & he DOES have access to the home. You are renting 1/3 of house that is shared w/owner & tenant & partial use of yard. Street parking only! Drive reserved for owner. NO AIR CONDITIONING! Inside home temp was 89- 90 deg (w/windows open). At midnight, several nights it was 87 deg trying to sleep. Attic fan has 60 min timer, rendering it useless @ night. Basement was cooler where most of us slept, leaving 2 BR’s empty. (owner does have AC in her part of the house.) Must keep all windows open for air. Most unsafe we’ve ever felt in a rental. Front BR’s only have doors (no windows), had to leave open during night for air. Very busy/noisy St., 5am birds & owner in yard @ 6am. Park Const. mess across the street. BR#3 Beds are AIR mattresses w/tshirt sheets awful to sleep on. Extensive cleaning rules. Must strip all beds, clean baths & kitchen, sweep & vac ALL floors, empty trashes. Softball families stay away…. Checkout is 10am, try getting her list done, packing & getting to the ball field. Make complaints after you get deposit back. If she were in TX we’d be in small claims court. Must use her products for your laundry. Owner threatens huge washer/dryer cleaning fee if you don’t. Left home on 2nd day & returned to find our laundry supplies empty? How did that happen? Washing machine is full of mold/mildew & has a foul odor. On the 1st day, told owner of our safety concerns about a man living in basement w/access to home & her clever disclosure of air mattresses. Her response to our complaints, “ I could have rented this property for twice what you are paying & not got yelled at.” This set the tone for the entire week. Owner entered home to replace deflated air mattress & initiated conversation w/our daughter about her disappointment that we would question her disclosures of the property description & her integrity. My daughter was very upset at being put in that position. Owner changed our rental agreement after departure & even though we provided her w/written confirmation from both parties of our changes prior to our arrival, she used our cleaning deposit as additional rental fee. We left home in immaculate condition. I would never rent from this woman again. The home in itself was not bad, but having to deal with no A/C and all of her issues & demands was a nightmare. Very unsafe & unprofessional & we highly recommend you look elsewhere for your Longmont Rental Needs. Rent at your own risk! You must stroke Owner’s ego.Did you find this review helpful? This is the perfect house for ANYONE. Besides being beautiful, immaculate, comfortable, and centrally located, the house is inviting as is the wonderful owner, Carolyna. The lake directly across the street is fun with tennis, volleyball, running, biking, canoeing....you name it. I cannot recommend this home highly enough.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Dear Karen: Thank you for the kind words. I am so glad to have had you and your two marvelous children, Eleanor and Sam, enjoy my vacation home and so much more delighted that you will be returning in 2011! Sincerely, Carolyna

This was a great choice. The property is better even than the pictures - quite spacious and impeccably clean. The lake across the street has a 5k path around it that is definitely worth doing even if you have to make time for it - really, we did and we were very glad we did. Carolyna is incredibly gracious. She made us feel right at home. We were in town for the CU graduation. The distance (15 or so miles) was not a problem. We would definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
