Unique townhouse community with only 7 units to share private bay beach. Watch sunset from 3rd floor deck and walk to the ocean. Dewey is an old-fashion beach town, with just the beach and small shops and some restaurants. Rehoboth Beach is right next door, which has the boardwalk and an old-time amusement park. Dewey has book stores, cafes, restaurants nearby and the famous Bottle and Cork and Rusty Rudder have music (almost) year round. Have a dog? Dewey is pooch heaven. For a $15.00 dog license, you can take your dog to the beach after 5:30 in-season or all day between Sep15-May 1. Dewey is host for the annual "Greyhounds Reach the Beach" in October, when 3,000 dogs and owners come to town. "DoodlesinDewey," a fundraiser for Food and Friends, happens every April. Other special events can be found if you google "Dewey Beach."

- Minimum Age Limit for Renters : No high school graduates for beach week. The older the better. Our condo association would rather we don't have young groups.

Why the Owner Chose Dewey Beach
As singles, we loved Dewey Beach. 20 years and 3 kids later, we still love it. We've watched Dewey turn from a partying place for young folk to a great place for families and couples. We continue to love the diversity of the people here and the easy way of life. We walk everywhere, the beach is never overcrowded. We can choose to go to restaurants and stores nearby or just keep to ourselves and stay by the beach. It really feels like we have the best of everything.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Since Dewey is small, we're right on the bay and can walk to the ocean, too. It's quite amazing. Our townhouse is big enough to accommodate a group and still have privacy. The 3 full baths are a huge benefit.
****Due to extensive damage during beach week in 2010, we do not want to rent for beach week next year! Sorry that one group ruined it for others.....

I have been fortunate to spend many weekends at the Bay Strand beach house. The location is perfect! you have the bay in the back yard and 2 blocks to be on the beach. We have walked into Rehobeth Beach for shopping and dinner. The house is very comfortable and the photos on the website are accurate. The rooms are large and well decorated. We especially enjoyed the fire place during a winter visit. Another feature we enjoy is the quiet! I have only been there in the "off season" but many weekends have passed without seeing even one neighbor. it is definitely a perfect get away!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.
