This is a Caribbean style three bedroom, three bathroom house tastefully renovated and refurbished in 1999 and 2009. The villa enjoys a hillside site with spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and Rodney Bay, as well as wonderful breezes from the Atlantic Ocean.
There is an open-plan kitchen, sitting/dining area. The kitchen has louver shutters opening to the view of the Caribbean Sea. The kitchen has granite countertops with all new appliances. The cabinet doors are made of Caribbean cane keeping the Caribbean style of the villa. The living/dining area, with two ceiling fans, has louver doors opening onto a series of patios, all of which are built of natural wood and are situated around and within a flamboyant tree giving the feeling of a 'treehouse' and creating a most attractive and relaxing atmosphere. On the main patio there is a table for six people, a hammock and extra chairs for watching the sunset. There is a cozy built-in area for reading and relaxing. On the 'treehouse" patio there is a table for four people with the flamboyant tree providing shade for afternoon lunches.
The 'treehouse' patio has a bridge that leads to the swimming pool, which is surrounded by colorful bougainvillea and tropical plants.
There are two double bedrooms on the main living level. Bedroom 1 has two single beds that can be made into a king size bed, with louver windows that look out towards the lovely flamboyant tree. There is a shower room off of this bedroom. Bedroom 2 has a four poster queen size bed with an en-suite shower room. This bedroom has a door that leads to the swimming pool and sun deck.
The double master bedroom is at an elevated level. It has a queen size four poster bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. There is also a private patio off of the bedroom which enjoys a fabulous view all of its own. This patio has two tables for eating and each seats two people.
All of the bedrooms have ceiling fans and mosquito nets. Housekeeper - 6 days a week. Entertainment - music center and Cable television.Extensive library for reading material. Games for the whole family. Internet WI-FI access is provided at the villa.
The garden is magical because our gardener, Benis, has made it that way. He has worked on it for 10 years. It is very private, with many different palm, flamboyant and orchid trees. All colors of bougainvillea are throughout the garden. Benis went to the jungle and brought back lovely orchids which have attached themselves to the flamboyant tree on the 'treehouse' deck.
Greta, our housekeeper, is a wonderful cook. If you buy the goods then she will make great Caribbean dishes for you on nights that you prefer to be at the villa to watch the sunset and not drive into the Rodney Bay restaurants.
The villa is 15 minutes from Castries Airport and 90 minutes from Hewanorra International Airport. International acclaimed Le Sport Spa is the closest beach only 5 minutes away. Reduit Beach and Rodney Bay are a 10 minute drive. The golf course is minutes away are the tennis courts.

Hummingbird House is an oasis to which I have returned many times since 2000. Aside from the excellent amenities of the house, the privacy of pool, and the lush, tropical gardens, HH has something which, in my opinion, sets it apart from all other villas I have seen in St Lucia, and that is the amazing view. It literally takes my breath away every time I arrive there. I first came to St Lucia in 1989, and have been a regular visitor to this lovely island since then. I have stayed in many different places, but since 2000, when HH first opened its doors, I have not even considered to spend my vacation anywhere else on the island. My vacation spent at HH, is always a very rejuvenating, restful, and special time for me. I would definitely recommend a stay at HH to anyone, young and old alike! Caribbean Villa

Right around the time that my wife and I were enjoying a couples' massage on the master bedroom veranda overlooking the ocean was when I realized we had made the perfect choice for our first romantic getaway together since the birth of our daughter 2 years prior. Even now, amidst the chaos of our still growing family and snow of upstate New York, my wife and I mentally escape to the views from the multiple balconies, the beautiful and relaxing private pool, all the cozy nooks to enjoy a book and a drink, and the smell of breakfast and coffee being prepared for us as we awoke from an uninterrupted sleep in a gorgeous second floor bedroom - the "fold-away" wall of which allows for a view down to the ocean as you sit up and stretch in the canopied bed. The staff always wore a welcoming smile, had a gift for being readily available when needed, but otherwise never disrupted our peace and privacy. Everything was impeccably maintained and clean. We enjoyed two rounds of golf at the nearby public course, and the town and beaches were easily accessible for several day trips and dinners in Rodney Bay, and a hike up Pigeon Island. For us, however, the best part of our vacation was winding up the road to our private hillside villa and enjoying the perfect setting for a relaxing escape together. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to a friend or relative, and have no doubt that our family will be making a return trip to Hummingbird Villa!

My family and I have been going to St. Lucia almost every year since I was young. We used to stay in Rodney Bay but now choose Hummingbird in Cap Estate because of the amazing feeling of relaxation, tranquility, and warmth it immediately gives you when you walk through the front door. Hummingbird is in a perfect location because it's a short drive from Reduit Beach, one of the nicest beaches on the island, but far enough from the noise of the city. The house also has a private pool hidden in a haven of beautiful tropical flowers right off the back step of the bedroom. For dinner, you can dine on the porch that views the entire length of St.Lucia while Gretta cooks an authentic Caribbean meal for you. If you're looking to grab a drink in town, the Lime or Spinnakers has a wonderful scene of vacationers all looking to mingle and have a good time. There's also a Jump Up every Friday night where you can experience local artwork, cuisine, and music. After hitting the town, a taxi is available at all hours to bring you back to your home away from home. I can't say enough about how much I love Hummingbird and St.Lucia!

The Hummingbird House is a beautiful slice of paradise. Sitting on the deck and taking in the views and beautiful lush landscape couldn't have been more relaxing. The house was perfect for 3 couples to share with plenty of space and privacy. The master suite on the top floor is truly incredible and provides the best view of all from it's private balcony. The Hummingbird house is decorated beautifully and is extremely functional. It's not too far from the nearest beaches but sitting out by the gorgeous pool makes it hard to want to leave. We hope to come back soon.

I have stayed in this lovely villa a few times now and every time is better than the last! You couldn't ask for a more quiet and peaceful place to spend a vacation. The views from the balconies are absolutely breathtaking! The pool is very private and a wonderful way to beat the heat. The housekeeper, Greta, is a very kind woman who keeps the house spotless and also happens to be a great cook. I really enjoy the fact that we can have the peace and quiet at the villa, as well as be down in the center of it all in such a short time.

This house was made for vacations. As soon as you arrive, you feel relaxed. The view from the master bedroom is breathtaking. You can see the ocean while still laying in bed- that is my idea of paradise! The balconies have a constant breeze. The house is equipped with everything you need, which makes the vacation easy. The pool is a little oasis in the back. We loved the open air feel of the house. It really is a true Caribbean house. It's location close to Castries is great for quick trips to the market. In addition, their staff is top notch. We would recommend this place highly, and can't wait to go back for our next vacation!

We absolutely loved Hummingbird House and our visit on Saint Lucia. The home is beautiful in every way, feeling private and nestled in a lovely garden, and it's so close to Rodney Bay and the restaurants there. We thought Buzz was especially good, and we enjoyed Lime as well very much. The view, of course, is extraordinary. Greta, our housekeeper, was cheerful and professional, thorough and accommodating.She did a good job for us and was really a very nice person. We liked our time there so well that we imagined buying a house in Cap Estate and spending all winter a very nice fantasy. Getting back to Virginia's winter weather was a cold shock. We wondered why we hadn't stayed!

...We truly had a wonderful time. I already miss Hummingbird and St. Lucia. It was amazing exploring the island....I can understand why one would not want to leave Hummingbird Villa. It is beautiful, comfortable and very inspiring. I found myself painting in the garden and lush surroundings and enjoyed lounging about soaking up the sun and view.
