Great location

This condo is a mixed bag. It's in a great location, just blocks from a major shopping center with grocery store and the world famous Johns Hopkins hospital in Panama City. However, even though it's on the 18th floor of a very nice building, there is a lot of street noise. I suspect that most places in this area are very noisy unless they have double-pane windows. Panamanians never signal a turn but honk their horns every 2-3 seconds for no apparent reason! For whatever reason I was never able to get onto the WiFi and calls to the manager went unanswered until my last night and even with the pass code I was unable to get logged in. The TV was excellent and had channels in Spanish, English, Chinese, German, and French. The kitchen was small but had all needed appliances including washer/dryer. The apartment was clean and tidy and nicely decorated, except for the pile of WiFi cables and modems on the master bedroom floor. There is plenty of closet space for longer stays. One thing I found odd was the lack of shampoo, soap, or any type of personal hygiene items I normally find in vacation rentals. Fortunately I'd brought my own, in case. Again, the Riba Smith grocer was just down the street in the mall so any hygiene items you need can be found there, as well as coffee, sugar, tea, etc. The owner charges a damage deposit but is very quick to refund it following check out. Their needs to be a good information packet to send prior to arrival as well as a guest information packet for the condo. I had to ask around for information about restaurants, shopping, directions, etc. Be sure you get everything you need well prior to your departure as well as printing out Google maps of the area. There are no good maps available of the city and it's incredibly confusing to drive there, if you plan to. Be sure to ask for a check-out list, as well. I had a great trip down there and this condo is in an excellent location for most things. Plan to leave well in advance if you're going to the west side of town (canal, beach cities, Amador, or Casco Viejo) any time around rush hour, even if taking a taxi. Lots of traffic and constant road work will slow you down.

This condo truly represents the pictures as shown. It was spacious, exceptionally clean, functional and bed in Master Bedroom was very comfortable with firm mattress lots of closet space too. Our daughter who is 5'6" said her room also was very comfortable in spite of the bed being "short". Her feet hung over the bed. The security is very good though the neighborhood seemed safe, and the guard was always helpful in getting us a taxi. We walked to MultiPlaza and Punta Pacifica Hospital and to Jimmy's restaurant (delicious seafood!). The check-out process was quick and we promptly were credited our deposit within couple of weeks. Our only complaints are 2: 1) the gym and the pool were not available for us to use since it seemed there was maintenance being done. 2) If you are a light sleeper, the traffic was bothersome with the trucks who would engage their gears to "brake". Other than that, we would return there and stay again.

First, I want to thank you for making your condo available to us during our visit to Panama. We had a wonderful time, enjoyed your home immensely, and absolutely fell in love with Panama. I am certain that I'd like to make Panama my permanent residence at some point in the future. Tony was wonderful, so knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We couldn't have asked for a more hospitable and enjoyable experience...so we thank you for everything. Well, thank you again, and maybe we'll do business again at some point in the future.
