Keywords: Self catering private house
This 2800 sq ft home sits on a spacious half acre lot amidst palms, bountiful azaleas and towering Carolina pines overlooking a scenic lagoon, and with easy proximity to the BEACH and GOLF inside the plantation either on a bike or by car. At the house, there is ample space for different activities for different people - cooking, reading, sunning, biking, watching movies, bird watching, listening to music - you may find you explore the area less because of this home's well designed comforts, elegance, and serenity.
Here escape the traffic, crowds, and noise that so often accompany beach destinations. Instead bike on one of the 4 bikes we've left for you, or walk on level pathways through forests past manicured golf courses, and fountains, or drive or bike within the plantation to the quietest beach on the island that the public cannot access. Bring the beach chairs we provide, your happy hour drinks for sunset, wiggle your toes in the sand, and breathe in the fresh sea air. Later sample some of the locals' favorite waterfront restaurants close by. (We have left our suggestions for you). No neon signs, no casinos, no motorcycles, no bright night lights, but instead a respect for natural beauty, peacefulness, and recreation.
Of course, outside the plantation is a vast array of other seaside experiences - dolphin watching, golfing, (discount golf information is at the house), imaginative mini-putt, salt marsh kayaking , outlet mall shopping, museums, beach biking, or beach tanning/reading, Tuesday fireworks nights, tennis, water sports, boating - not to mention side trips to historic Charleston, and Savannah.
Hilton Head is renowned for tremendous restaurant quality, and value: there are so many competitors, you are ensured what you want is available at a reasonable price. Naturally, some nights you will enjoy dinner at home cooked in the fully equipped kitchen, and served outside on the patio, or in the formal dining room for a special meal shared with friends.
Will a week really be sufficient to do all this? We will discount your second consecutive week to help you solve that problem.
Where else can you experience the fun, and variety of a prime beach destination with all these house comforts, and the COMPLIMENTARY use of 4 bikes, a car bike rack, PLUS beach equipment - chairs, cooler, umbrella, and the cart to haul it all in? We want to guarantee you comfort, pleasure, and recessionary SAVINGS with no extra charges for cleaning or linens.
Come, experience Hilton Head Island. Rest, relax, recharge - reserve! You're going to love it here.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
Life in Hilton Head Plantation is more relaxed and less busy than other areas since cars are not admitted through to sightsee the area. Many people live here year round, so it is not so transient, or seasonal. People here smile, and say hi even when they don't know you. It's friendly, scenic, comfortable, and readily accessible to amenities, many of which are here right inside the gates.
The Unique Benefits at this House
This house has spacious rooms which in addition to the outside views seen through the many windows, and skylights, seem to meld the outdoors with the indoors. We don't feel confined here, and part of that is a temperate climate that has a resort-like feel to it, so no matter the season, the outdoors can be enjoyed. The tropical palms swaying outside the screened porch, the Carolina swing under the portico, all contribute to relaxation. What else do we like here? The sunshine's sparkle on the lagoon, the birds' song at the feeder, quick bike trips to the beach, or fine restaurants, and the factory outlets just off the Island!
Owner's Map of Private Homes
We are a recently retired couple who have for years shivered through winter, but no more! In our search for a warmer climate second home, Hilton Head's attractions outnumbered our other possibilities. Here was a controlled world, where long ago, planners envisioned an environment that respected nature's beauty, not destroyed it. Stringent controls have prevented neon signs; permits are necessary to remove trees; noise, and speed laws are enforced; lighting has to meet specific standards - this is a world of scenic beauty, and recreation. In addition, where else can you bike ride on the beach, for miles, your roses don't die over the winter, palms and azaleas thrive, plus you can drive from home?

This was our 3rd visit to HH, and by far our most enjoyable and relaxing due to using your home. You two have a beautiful place here. This is one of our favorite vacation spots due to the "laid back" atmosphere and the efforts the town of HH has made to prevent over commercialization. "Roasted Fish and Cornbread" was a good restaurant find, quaint with excellent seafood. Thank you for sharing your home with us. May God bless you.

Thank you for the loan of your home. Each day was full of walks, golf, eating and relaxing. We appreciated the bikes and loved the pools. Your list of tips was extremely helpful. Our restaurant recommendation is the Boathouse on the water at the edge of your neighbourhood- great food and atmosphere. Is the weather always perfect?

Stayed in this beautiful property for 3 months---the time "flew by". Very peaceful, residential area. Extremely comfortable home, tastefully furnished in a great location. Close to nature, deer, exotic birds and had one sighting of Al, the little alligator in the lagoon. Dolphin Head beach and walkway along the water front in Hilton Head Plantation is the best location on the island. Close to Barnes & Noble, grocery stores and the best restaurants. Additionally the owners are a very nice, considerate couple. Most enjoyable, relaxing time. Thank You
Owner response:Hi Gerry and Christine, We are so glad you enjoyed our house and Hilton Head so much. It seems that exactly what attracted us to this location on the island - natural beauty, serenity, the private beach at Dolphin Head away from crowds and noise, plus easy access on bikes or car to golf, tennis, groceries, pools and restaurants without having even to leave the neighbourhood- a little dream world tucked away in a forest by the ocean - is exactly what you enjoyed also. We look forward to your return. Colleen and Don

We had a marvelous time at your home, and what a beautiful place it is! It is hard to believe that there is a thriving community surrounding your home on Hilton Head. Your home is so quite and peaceful. While there, a doe and her two fawns strolled in for breakfast on your grass just outside the Carolina room. We have quite a photograph of them. We noticed that one of the groups that have stayed at your home named the alligator, Al. In keeping with the name, Al made his appearance on the morning after the deer. It was a good thing that he showed up because our granddaughter, Jackie, had decided that all lagoons were linked, and there was only one alligator that everyone was seeing. Even though we have visited the Whooping Crane sanctuary at Aransas Pass Texas, we have never seen one. We managed to see four on one trip to the private beach in The Plantation. Our granddaughters thought that it was "AWESOME", that they saw something in 14 and 12 years of life that their grandparents had not seen in 67 years of life. While at one of the public beaches on Hilton Head, two young boys, 15 and 14, took up with our granddaughters and showed them how to find the live Sand dollars out in the water. Again, I have only seen the skeletons on the beaches of Texas, another first for all of us to see live ones. Hilton Head is absolutely beautiful, and we have already recommended your home to others. Feel free to use this email as an endorsement because we left in such a rush, I forgot to sign your guest book.

We recently visited Hilton Head and immensely enjoyed our stay there and highly recommend this property. The home is beautifully furnished and provides a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere after a long day of shopping, sightseeing, or lounging on the beach. The property itself is serene and peaceful with beautiful landscaping, trees, and a lagoon. The quiet, picturesque ambience allows you to escape from your daily routine and relax and enjoy your stay on the island. It is very spacious and quite convenient if you have pets. We took our two chihuahas Max and Daisy and they enjoyed it as well.
