Casa Quinde is a home constructed in the traditional local style with thick rustic stucco walls and heavy wood beamed ceilings throughout. Up to six people can easily be accommodated in over 2000 square feet of comfortable, tastefully furnished and fully-appointed living space comprised of:
*a living room with fireplace;
*a fully equipped kitchen;
*dining room;
*two extra large bedrooms (one with queen bed and one with two double beds)
- both with wood-burning fireplaces, and each with bathroom facilities en suite.
*porches and a private patio for your use.
All rooms and areas are furnished and decorated to a high standard and ready for your arrival.
Secure parking is available for one vehicle.
If accommodation is needed for more than 6 persons - family gatherings, group reunions, etc., please contact us - we can help you out with arrangements for additional accommodation nearby.
Our pricing includes up to three hours daily of support (six days a week) from our own housekeeper/cook who will provide maid service and weekly change of bed and bath linens. She could also use some of this time to prepare a meal for you, or perhaps assist you in shopping for your own meal preparation, do your personal laundry and ironing, and generally assist in making your stay more comfortable.
Additionally included is the use of: Wireless Internet Access (WiFi); A Prepaid Cell Phone with local contact numbers; A DVD Player with a Flat-Panel TV; A Washing Machine, Iron and Ironing board; And to help you through your first day or two, we provide a Basics Basket with a starter supply of juice, coffee, tea, milk, sugar, spices, paper products, etc. (With sufficient advance notice, and for additional charge, we will also stock the refrigerator and the pantry with requested food and beverages.)
There are no extra charges, i.e. cleaning fees, or an additional tax on the home rental fee.
Located in the Rural Northern Highlands of Ecuador at San Pablo del Lago, Casa Quinde is ideal for short holiday vacations or longer term rental, and provides an excellent opportunity for you to participate in the life of this wonderful area of Ecuador. Just two hours from Quito and only 90 minutes from Ecuador's International Airport there, Casa Quinde is the perfect base for all of your Ecuadorian explorations.
We can help arrange private transportation to and from Quito or for daytrips and excursions. Buses and taxis are available within a short (5 minutes), easy walking distance.
Casa Quinde is a privately owned home situated on the grounds of El Monasterio de Cusín, part of the well-known Hacienda Cusín. All of the facilities of Hacienda Cusín and El Monasterio de Cusín are at your disposal - e.g. their restaurants, gardens and public areas.
At Casa Quinde you will enjoy all the benefits of a resort way of life in a year-round perfect climate (daytime temps of 65 - 75 F / 18.3 - 23.9 C - cooler nights). Each day you will be surrounded by tranquility with an abundance of birds, flowers, trees and fountains around the casa and throughout the grounds.
And, with your everyday needs tended to by Casa Quinde's own housekeeper/cook and by the Hacienda's capable staff, you will be able to experience pure relaxation!

- Lanai: but here we call it a "corredor"... a place to sit in the afternoons, watching the resident hummingbirds and sipping the beverage of your choice while admiring the magnificent sunsets;

- Mountain View: Volcán Cotacachi and the Mojandas from the front "corredor"; from the back patio, Volcán Imbabura and Cera Cusín - The house is located in a peaceful back corner of El Monasterio de Cusín, part of the Hacienda Cusín complex which is criss-crossed with paths and walkways that take you through gardens and past fountains and pools; There are birds to be counted and plants, flowers and trees to be marveled at; There are courtyards to be discovered, works of art to be admired - or created... bring your blank canvases, easel, paints and palette, your sketch pad, pencils and charcoals... certainly your camera, as photo opportunities abound;

- Handicapped Accessible (may have limitations): Approaches to the casa are cobble-stoned paths; the second bedroom has a very large step-in shower for easy access;
- Wheelchair Accessible (may have limitations): over cobble-stoned paths; There are two steps up from the ground to the front corredors but the back patio and the entrance to the casa from the front corredors are all at interior floor level and have wide doorways.
- Kid Friendly: The children of attentive parents are always welcome. That said, we do not have any cribs or other types of bedding one usually associates with the needs of very young children. The backyard and patio are safely enclosed and provide ample room with grass for play (though the plantings are not "childproofed").
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters: Each reservation request is considered on its own merits; Casa Quinde is not a "party house"; most of our guests are either families or mature adults;
- Smoking Not Allowed: EXCEPT on the porches or patio; Smoking inside Casa Quinde is cause for the forfeiture of the security deposit.
