If you're visiting Missoula, we'd love for you to consider staying in our guest house. It's charming, quaint, and cozy... nothing fancy... just a sweet little cottage in the Rattlesnake!
This classic bungalow Cottage is quintessential Missoula. Located in the Lower Rattlesnake, one of Missoula’s most desirable and popular neighborhoods, the Cottage is just 2 ½ blocks to both Greenough Park and Mt. Jumbo. A lovely ten to fifteen minute stroll will get you to the University of Montana, (walk to the GRIZ GAMES!!!), Downtown Missoula, the Missoula Farmers Market, and the Clark Fork River. Hiking, biking, fishing, skiing, kayaking... plus, great shops, restaurants, museums, and parks... are all within walking distance of our cottage!
Less expensive than a hotel and with loads more personality, the cottage is the perfect home base for those wanting to explore Missoula. The cottage is basic (nothing luxurious here... no landline, limited television, teeny tiny little bathroom) but it DOES have wireless internet access and is clean, cute, and comfortable... and close to everything.

Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1992
Owners of the cottage are Jim and Jen Nave. We live in the main house in front with our son Joe, dog Greta, and cat Eliza. Jim bought the house and cottage in 1992 while a student at the University of Montana and I moved in in 1998. How we met? In 1997, a good friend of mine was living in the cottage and while visiting one day, my future husband came in to fix the shower. The rest is history!
I love the little cottage and have always kind of wished that I could have lived there (back in my "single" days!). I do manage to enjoy a glass of wine or two back there when it's unoccupied by guests... it's just a pleasant little get-a-way.
Why the Owner Chose Missoula
We just flat out love Montana. We love everything about it. We're so close to fishing, hiking, skiing, and biking.... it's awesome. If you like the outdoors, this is the place to be.
We chose the Lower Rattlesnake because of it's proximity to downtown and Greenough Park.

Stayed here in the early fall and it was a "step back in time" visit to Missoula. The clean and cozy cottage was a refreshing change from motel monotony. About three blocks away is a great little park with an easy hiking trail and a stony brook. Will definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for a few weeks during the summer and could not have had a better experience! The location is truly perfect, and the cottage is very charming with a high ceiling, which makes it feel very open. The owners are wonderful. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Missoula!
