This cabin was wonderful. From the time you step into the door you feel like your at home. Not only was the layout of the cabin awesome but the decorations inside was beautiful. The beds was comfortable and what I found awesome was the notes the owners left & the journal on the table for people to leave them feed back. Also the basket of things that ppl may have forgotten everything was thought out very well. Will be making a return trip very soon.

This was our second stay in Zip-A-Dee-Doo. Our expectations were fairly high as we had such an enjoyable first visit two years ago, and once again we were very pleased. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool table and watched several movies. We did not try the zip line but we could see and hear the excitement from the deck. The cabin is nicely furnished (comfortable furniture - a must for movie watching!) and well stocked, even complete with toiletry items guests might have forgotten. We can definitely recommend the location but keep in mind that a car is necessary to enjoy local attractions.

This "cabin" (it's hard to think of this as just a cabin) was a great home base for a fall weekend exploring Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains National Park. Great Smokies decor, fully equipped and lots of fun "critter" surprises that I won't spoil by describing here.

Cant Wait To Go Back!

Wow, we had SO much fun and the place was so nice, clean, and comfortable! We had never stayed at a rental home before, and it was great.... It was especially nice getting away and staying in a place so different from home! You walk in to Zip-A-Dee-Doo and you can smell the pine logs; not to mention just stand there and take in all the extras Cheryl and Doug have put inside! I'm wondering if all the log cabins (homes) are this nice? I doubt it..... My husband and I stayed in the upstairs Master Bedroom which had a King bed, private bathroom and great view! There were four of us (two couples) and we played pool and enjoyed the hot tub late into the nights; we just couldn't make ourselves go to bed and miss out on anything. We were close (maybe 5 minutes) to the main strip and went to the Titanic, very nice, not as touristy as some of the other stuff. We shopped at the Tangier Mall, ate at Olive Garden and Red Lobster, all of which were close to the cabin; and even fixed steaks on the grill one night. The kitchen had everything we needed, and then some.... One day we just stayed in the resort, slept in, watched movies (that were provided) and went zip-lining. I had my concerns about zipping, but believe it or not; it was really easy (and the mountain views were beautiful)! That was my favorite activity while we were there, except maybe the hot tub (it was the biggest & deepest one I have been in, plenty of room for the four of us ;-) They did a neat thing for the hot tub cover, it was really easy to use! We are making plans to come back next year! All of us felt so refreshed and ready to tackle our busy days on our return. Thanks Doug & Cheryl for such a wonderful place to call ours for a few days.... You should be proud of your beautiful log home!

Great cabin! Location is perfect, close to everything, yet secluded enough to enjoy getting away from it all, and just relax! Cheryl & Doug have done a nice job with the interior design making it feel just like home, with a little fun thrown in.... We were two couples getting away from work, and we had plenty of room to relax, watch some of the blue rays movies provided, and enjoy ourselves. My wife and I chose to stay in the downstairs Master bedroom which had a jacuzzi; we didn't use it since we enjoyed the hot tub (which has a great view), and the 2-person shower. We all had fun using the Billiard Room with Leather sofa, bar stools (made to hold your pool sticks) and really nice pool table. They spared nothing on the inside; well stocked kitchen and nice accessories throughout the cabin. None of us had stayed in a log cabin or a VRBO property before; so we were a little nervous. They call it a cabin; but it's really a Log home! The pictures on the website don't do this place justice; it's even better when you get there. Flat screen TVs in every room, really nice furniture, the works! We are making plans to make this an annual trip for the four of us we enjoyed it so much! Great value; we will always check VRBO before staying in a hotel when traveling in the future..... Oh, we also did the Zip-line; it was really fun even for the ladies (might need to bring our kids back, although we adults had a blast!)

Nice cabin, but lacking in privacy.

First the good. The cabin was nicely decorated, clean, had a decent view, and had a nice large hot tub. On the flip side, the beds were very firm, the coffee-maker wasn't working, and the ipod connector for the stereo would not work. Those were minor issues compared to the lack of privacy, however. After the first of our three nights there, we received a fairly strongly-worded email from the owner accusing us of throwing a "VERY LOUD party" and instructing us to "take it elsewhere." This was a surprise to us because we are a family of four with two young children and there was no one else in the cabin but us. The only music we played on the deck was from a laptop computer, which hardly puts out booming sounds. My wife is a physician and I am a businessman and we travel extensively. This is the first time we have encountered a situation like this in 13 years of travelling together. I can only think to attribute this to a hyper-sensitive neighbor. It was probably exacerbated by the fact that neighbors on both sides are located a mere few feet away from this cabin, which compromises privacy. I can not fathom how a family of four enjoying time on a deck can be categorized as a "VERY LOUD party." After receiving the email, the rest of our stay was uncomfortable, to say the least. If you want to read quietly, this cabin will suffice. If you plan to enjoy your time on the deck and use the hot tub, you may want to consider other properties.

Unfortunately, someone singled out your group as a concern, and we were required to contact you accordingly. All of our previous guest reviews reflect that they have been absolutley thrilled with the location and privacy of our cabin; as well as the perks afforded in our resort setting such as the swimming pool, and zipline. A quick phone call to our 24 hour maintenance staff would have handled your coffee pot and ipod challenges. Happy travels to you in the future, Cheryl & Doug

Cabin with Style

The cabin was perfect. It was so beautifully decorated and most important it was very clean. Another plus is that it is located so close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We could enjoy all the area had to offer and not have to drive very many miles to get back and relax. We went to Clint's BBQ and enjoyed good food with live music (they don't play every night so make sure to check which days they play if you want the music). We could have stayed in the cabin and been perfectly happy especially with the pool table and big screen tv's not to mention the hot tub and so much more! And yes, we did the zipline. It was so much fun! I was a little scared when the guide told me I could let go and basically hang upside down, but once I did it I wanted to do it again. Thank you so much for allowing others to use your cabin and enjoy its comforts and beauty. We came home with many wonderful memories.

My family and I visit the Smokie's 2-3 times a year and I have always used a cabin rental company. I was very pleased with this cabin. It was clean, well stocked, had a great view, and the location was perfect. It is only 4-5 miles from the parkway. Secluded, yet convenient. There are so many things that I was pleased with. The ease of just going straight to the cabin without having to check in, the hot tub cover, the basket of items in each bathroom, plenty of towels, comfortable furniture and beds, nicely decorated, etc. I like to rent a different cabin each time we visit, but would love to stay here again. I had a wonderful stay in this cabin!! The owners thought of everything! It's so well stocked - from kitchen supplies, to toiletries, to CDs and DVDs to enjoy. They have provided all flat-screen TVs - pool table, surround sound, hot tub, etc! I just can't say enough about the tasteful and darling way it's decorated (love the ziplining squirrel!). Gorgeous view from the deck, which is very private. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at Zip for a family reunion and it was a wonderful experience. I stayed with family and there were 4 of us in the cabin. From the moment I walked into the cabin (the AC was up and it was cool, surround sound music was on, and it had a very inviting atmosphere), I was relaxed. The cabin was so clean that it made it immediately comfortable to settle in. I completely unpacked and hid my suitecase because I felt so at home. The decor was so perfect and detailed. The cabin was very spacious which was nice, as everyone had their own space which was uniquely theirs in decor and comfort. We also utilized the kitchen which was well stocked with utensils, plates, bowls, appliances, etc. Sterling Springs is a beautiful cabin community and we took advantage of the pool and Wahoo Ziplines. Zip is conveniently located a short walk to the pool. The pool was very clean and plenty spacious enough for our reunion group of a dozen. The baby pool is large for a baby pool and has a few waterfalls and fountains for the kids who seemed to love it. I was really excited to zipline and it did not disappoint! It was a blast and ran very efficiently. Each of the 6 ziplines within the course was unique and the guides were great. We always saw the "Country Tonight" show in town and it was very good - a mix of county-western, gospel, and patriotic songs. I would recommend it and it is good for all ages. I would highly recommend Zip to anyone - you will not have a bad stay! We hope to come back again! The cabin is even better in person than it is in the photos!

Great Family Vacation

This was our 2nd stay at Zip-A-Dee-Doo, and again everything was absolutely perfect!!! The location of your cabin is ideal in that it is close to everything yet remote enough to be peaceful & relaxing. The cleanliness & comfort of your home is so inviting. With extra family members going this year, our 26 year old son used the pull out sofa in the loft and said it was also very comfortable. There are so many things to do right within your complex. It was great to be able to just walk to the pool and the Wahoo Zipline (which we would highly recomment to people of all ages!!!) We also enjoyed the Country Tonight Show and had a blast on the boat we rented at Douglas Lake. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful mountain home with us for our 2nd Annual Family Reunion. We would definitely recommend this cabin to our friends and family and consider staying here again ourselves. The location was our main deciding factor, as we wanted to be close to all the attractions, but not in the middle of it. The community is remote, quite and peaceful, yet not too far away from tourist areas. The cabin was very clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The owners obviously take pride in their property, and have done a great job of making their cabin warm, welcoming, and fun.

Wow! What a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The owners were awesome to work with from the get go...very cordial, prompt, and efficient. The cabin was magnificent!. It was beautifully decorated, homey, relaxing, clean, spacious, and well stocked with just about everything one could want. We were pleasantly surprised with the baskets in the bathrooms loaded with toiletries, etc...for our use. How thoughtful!!!. You know that it is a success when 6 people, ages 18,23,25,27, 52, and 53, men and women, all agreed that it was an awesome place. What a bargain, especially considering the 1/2 off ziplining right there on the property. We had a blast! Can't say enough good things. Hopefully we can return at a later date. We have just returned from a 5000 mile road trip. This cabin was our second stop and we stayed for four nights. I cant say enough wonderful things about the cabin, it was very comfortable, clean and tastfully decorated. When first entering the cabin we were pleasently surprised it was better than expected ! everything we could possibly need was there. It was our favorite place along our trip !! An Unforgettable Vacation

My family of five stayed at Zip-A-Dee-Doo the week between Christmas and New Year’s. We arrived to a Winter Wonderland, with over six inches of snow on the ground and continuing to fall. Despite the snowy conditions, the cabin was easy to reach and not far from the “Parkway”. Immediately upon arriving, my family felt at home. The cabin was warm and cozy and extremely inviting. The cabin was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. The living room had a wonderful fireplace, and the dining room table was large, seating up to six people. The kitchen was extremely well appointed with all the possible amenities you could ask for. Both bedrooms were large and comfortable. Our kids enjoyed the upstairs loft, and our family had many tournaments around the pool table. Each bedroom had a flat screen TV, as did the loft and the living room. Despite the cold weather (15 degrees) we were still able to enjoy the hot tub and to use the gas barbeque on the back porch. We went skiing in Gatlinburg (a short drive away on the Parkway) and the best part of the trip was the Wahoo Ziplines. Doug and Gary were incredible guides, making even our nine year old feel safe. By staying at Zip-A-Dee-Doo we got a 50% discount on the price! Don’t miss out on this experience! All in all, it was a great vacation, and thanks to Doug and Cheryl sharing their beautiful cabin, one that we will not forget!

My family and I adored this property. The hot tub was large as promised and very private on the back deck. The views were breathtaking. We enjoyed zip lining at a discounted rate which was a big bonus. The pool was enjoyed several days and well as hikes to a few waterfalls in the park. We enjoyed Gatlinburg one night and were glad we were away from the traffic most of the time. We also enjoyed a magic show, mini golf and a wonderful down south dinner. With a family of six using the fully stocked kitchen most days as well as the grill on the deck was a wonderful plus. We played games and ate at a marble table plenty large for six. The surround sound and the ipod dock were used as well. The washer and dryer enabled us to go home with clean clothes. Everyone enjoyed the pool table. It was played hours on end. The beds were very beautiful and comfortable and we used the pull out in the loft which the kids loved. There was so much room it was great. We have used this site before and have always been happy. Reader reviews have been a major way for me to judge where we stay. Trust me, this place will make you very happy! The home was decorated beautifully. We have never stayed in a home that had so many personal touches. The art work and detail made it truly seem a home away from home! Would love to come back when the fireplace would be needed. Also loved the jacuzzi in my room. Very relaxing and romantic. Our boys are 8, 10, 13 and 15 and we all had a fabulous time. I took so many pictures and when I showed them everyone went on about how gorgeous it was. I am very glad to share my opinion on this home and have to say there is nothing I can even suggest to add to it. Thank you so much forgiving us the chance to be able to afford to give our family a truly amazing experience! It was a great place to be after our long ride from Garfield, NJ!

WOW! were the 1st words out of everyone's mouth. I saw all the pictures online of your cabin which are nice but when we opened the door and walked in I was speechless! I have never seen a cabin so well equiped or so nicely decorated! The pictures just don't capture what is acually there! Most people's homes don't look as nice as your cabin!! Thank you for thinking of EVERYTHING. You even provided DVD movies and music CD's. Coffee, spices and every concievable kitchen gadget also were a nice surprise. We took advantage of the discount at Wahoo Zipline and had a blast, swam at the pool, took walks, saw birds, went to Dollywood, Dixie Stampede etc. What a great location and all the comforts of home - only better b/c we were up in the mountains in a LUXURY cabin! Loved cooking out on the grill looking out across the mountains and visiting with family. Thanks for helping us have the best family reunion ever! I will definitely be recommending your place to other friends and family members. And I am already thinking about when we can come back, I want to explore the Smokys and see some Arts and Crafts in the Crafters Village near Gatlinburg.... .....and sit in the hot tub on the deck listening to the birds. :)

Doug & Cheryl, Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful mountain home with our family for what I know will become an annual event. From the moment we walked in the front door, we were awe struck; your listing photos do not do it justice. Every inch of your home is so tastefully decorated, very clean and well maintained. The location is excellent and very convenient to many attractions. We were within walking distance of the Wahoo Zipline and clubhouse pool. We would absolutely recommend the Zipline for people of all ages. We saw little ones as young as 4 years old and other family members in their 60's zip above the trees to see the breath taking views of the Smokey Mountains. We also enjoyed Dollywood and the Dixie Stampede dinner show, all within minutes of your beautiful home. We will definately recommend your cabin to other family members and friends. It is a wonderful place to retreat any season of the year. Would love to return in the fall and even in the winter to relax in front of the fireplace in the living room and the indoor jacuzzi in the bedroom. This cabin was everything we had hoped it would be. Had everything we needed to have a relaxing weekend. Went whitewater rafting, zip lining and hiking so relaxing back at the cabin in the whirlpool was just what we needed. Had heard about the cabin from a friend and will share it with others. Thank you for sharing your lovely mountain cabin with us. Your description of the cabin was very accurate. We felt right at home the minute we walked in. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the deck overlooking the mountain and listening to the birds chirping. My son enjoyed playing pool in the game room upstairs and the community pool was an added plus for us. My son loves to play in the water. Your location is so close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. It was a very easy drive. The mountain view from the deck is awesome and we enjoyed watching the folks riding down the zipline! We had a great time riding the zipline as well. It was an awesome experience!! We look forward to visiting again.

The cabin was far better than pictures or words could really describe. The cabin was the best cabin we have stayed in, in all of our years visiting the mountains. We have stayed at many cabins in Eagle's Ridge but this is far better than any of those. We spent a lot of time at the cabin because it was so comfortable. We relaxed in the hot tub every night!!! I actually received hug after hug from my boys as a thank you for making such a wonderful choice in cabins. The cabin was very clean and far better than I had imagined. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Zip a dee doo was more beautiful than the pics show. The house is very tastefully decorated in and out. First class all the way. The owners thought of everything you could possibly need. The view of the mountains from the back porch was beautiful. We enjoyed the grill and the furniture on the back porch was very comfortable. It was secluded but yet in very close proximity to the Parkway where everything is. Our GPS took us on all different scenic routes and brought us out right near where we wanted to be with out all the traffic. When going home avoid 441 we saved an hour in traffic by taking the back roads to Knoxville to Interstate 40 about a 20 minute ride. The beds are very comfortable, and the rain shower in the master bath was a very nice touch. We enjoyed the Jacuzzi tub except right when you start falling asleep the dang thing cleans it self very loudly. The upstairs bedroom was very roomy and the loft is very nice also our daughter lived up there. Wireless WiFi was an added bonus for me to keep up with work.. We would definitely stay there again!! Also the Zipline in the resort is half price for guests staying. The resort does have a pool and spa services that come to your cabin. Since I can't put brand names in this review there is a major pizza chain that delivers out there believe it or not, and begins with a D.

Our advice to you if you rent this cabin,is to buy your groceries on the way.Once you arrive,you won't want to leave.The owners have thought of every detail.We did all of our own cooking while we were there.They even had an extra tank of gas for the grill.I had a hard time getting my wife out of the whirlpool bath,and the surround sound stereo was even upstairs while we played pool.Sitting on the comfortable deck chairs every morning,listening to the birds,was our favorite time.I could go on and on about the cabin,but suffice to say that it was everything that was promised,and a lot more.We can't wait to get back there.

There's something magical about mountains. It seems impossible to be anything but relaxed and peaceful while sitting on the front porch drinking coffee (my favorite activity). My wife and I spend as much time as possible in the moutains and we do like to be comfortable. This place manages to be rustic and at the same time incredibly comfortable from the super comfortable beds to the well supplied kitchen. Interior is gorgeous! It was obviously decorated by talented experts. And what hot tub with a mountain view can do to stress. Other family members wanted more stimulation - Dollywood and Pigeon forge as well as the zip line supplied plenty of that. Can't think of a better place for vacation. Highly recommended!

Doug & Cheryl, When I first set foot in this cabin, the beauty of it took my breath away. I believe it may have taken at least (3) minutes before I moved from the doorway. My trance was broken when my five year old son asked, "Mommie, is this our new home?" This is truly a beautiful, serence and much needed vacation. Thank you both so much for blessing me with your beautiful home. I LOVE the jacuzzi tub in the master and the majestic view of the mountains. Doug & Cheryl, Our family feels very blessed, or "spoiled" as our kids said, to have been able to enjoy your cabin. We loved being secluded, yet close to everthing. Wow, we love your place! Our family had sucah a wonderful restful time here ...... and can't wait to return. Everything I wanted or needed was here to enjoy.
