For a bear like me in a new city, location is of utmost importance. This charming apartment has a great location in the heart of Paris. “Point zero” or “kilometre zero” from where all distances are measured in France is literally 10 minutes walk. You don’t get more central than that. The closest subway station has only yellow line or line #1, but it takes you straight to many sites in Paris, including the Louvre, Champs Elysee and the Eiffel tower.
Before I arrived, I had an idea of how central the apartment is. That is why we were very surprised to see how spacious the apartment is given its location. It can accommodate 4 people easily and even has a separate naturally-lit dining room.
While the apartment is central, it is definitely not touristy. Stepping out the door, you will find yourself surrounded by Parisians grocery shopping, sipping coffee and carrying loaves of baguette. We quickly shopped and ate like Parisians and really enjoyed it.
Our host during the stay, Barbara and Gomez, the owner, helped us settle in quickly and remained extremely helpful during our stay. They were very quick in responding to all of our inquiries and in general very pleasant to work with. The apartment even has a table full of 2012 tour books for Paris. While we came prepared, these little details show that the owners care about travelers and their stays.

This is an excellent apartment to rent in Paris, especially if you have guests during your stay. It is in an excellent location in the Maurais district. It is an easy walk to the metro, which of course will take you anywhere in the city, and to train stations for more distant locations. Many sites you will want to see are also within easy walking distance--the left bank, Notre Dame Cathedral, and numerous museums. Also close by are very good bakeries, restaurants, and grocery stores. About the apartment: the washer and dryer were extremely helpful; the kitchen is well equipped; there is a bath and a half, which is very helpful if you have guests; the apartment is clean and maintained well. The property manager responded very quickly to any problems or questions we had. The owner returned our deposit very quickly after we returned home. I would not hesitate to rent the apartment again, and I would recommend it to my friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Nice, quiet neighborhood close to cafes, grocery, chocolatiers, patissieries, boulangeries, wine shops, etc. 5 min walk to Metro station. Very convenient (esp washer and dryer), spacious, and everything we needed for our 5 days/nights in Paris. Would definitely stay here again. If you need a ride from the airport, just ask for Jacques! He is a peach.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/5

Wonderful space for family of 4 with three distinct speeling areas. Property is close to Place des Voges and Notre Dame and just up the street from St Pauls Cathedral and Metro stop. Great shopping, walking and exploring. Very clean and comfortable beds and baths (1 and 1/2 was just right) all appliances working, etc. Wonderfully and cleverly decorated with good closet space, etc. Owners agent was very helful in getting us settled. Would recommend to family and friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at this lovely apartment for 4 nights and had a great time. I only wish that our stay could have been longer! I absolutely loved the location of this property and found that it was easily accessible to the trains, etc. Restaurants, shopping......It was all at our fingertips. This was our first trip to Paris, but it won't be our last! The owner of this property arranged for us to have someone pick us up at the train station and meet us to take us to the property. The local agent was on hand once we arrived to give us the keys and help us to become acclimated to the area, etc. We enjoyed everything about this place and absolutely can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

6 stars LOL This was our first trip to Paris so our number 1 concern was how our place we were staying was going to be and number 2 would be on how everything was going to be handled once we got there. I will discuss #2 first.I would rate it excellent on both accounts. Barb, who is the point of contact is extremely efficient, cordial, and makes you feel that if there was any problems, she would be on top of it immediately whether the problems were big or small. There were no problems which is obviously a huge plus but if there were, they would be taken care of immediately. Gives me a feeling of security when I deal with people like this. Also I received my security deposit a couple days later back on my paypal account so again, that made me very pleased. We all want to be able to trust people and can not necessarily do that especially when you are an ocean away BUT here....YOU TOTALLY CAN and I will always stay here because of this when I go back to Paris in the future. This place even offers you ideas and guides on what to visit and patronize locally. Admittedly, I am a huge skeptic when people throw around the word customer service as I often feel like that terminology is a " sales pitch " HERE, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BEING EXCELLENT IS A FACT. 100% EXCELLENT, PROFESSIONAL AND IT FEELS LIKE YOU ARE DEALING WITH A PERSON RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD FROM YOU, not someone who is an ocean away from me. The place is exactly what the pictures state it is and nothing less. It is a quaint, charming, clean, and just overall nice place to stay. There is no motel feeling here, more of one like a nice quaint cozy apartment. You can cook here as you would at home. The washer and dryer are efficient { that was not the case when I was in London with another place } but I want to draw attention to this because in another place, it was poor. HERE IT WAS FINE. I am also skeptical about reviews sometimes from other people. Don't be with me. I never post reviews as I am a very busy guy who doesn't generally take the time to write anything. This is only the 2nd time I took the time to write a review and the first one was for my dentist so trust me.....if I am taking the time to do this, it's because this place is worth it. If you go to Paris and you have a smaller family or go as couples...STAY HERE. The Marais is a fun area { where this is located }. All the main attractions are a stone's throw away and you have a Metro near you. EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENTOwner response: Dear Greg, Thank you very much for your commentaries and, most of all, for your honesty. It would have been difficult for me to know that money wasn't yours. You are a six stars guest.

Our family of 4 stayed here in June 2012. everything was as described. The location in the Marais was perfect. Easy walking distance to Metro, bakery, restaurants, fruit stand. The phone in the unit to call the US worked great and the wireless was super speedy. The washer dryer are great and the kitchen was just enough for us.The only drawback was just 2 rolls of toilet paper provided and the place needs a new shower curtain. It was generally quiet--church bells start at 8am. A walk to Notre Dame was just 15 minutes. We arrived early and the manager was there to let us in and explain the apartment. We are picky travelers who have traveled a lot so i have no reservations about recommending this place.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/5

My husband and I and our two daughters, ages 10 and 12, stayed in this lovely apartment for 8 nights in June 2011. The apartment has a lot of character as it is in an old building, but it is very nicely appointed and has interesting decor with lots of mirrors that make it seem spacious. My husband and I were comfortable in the upper level master suite, and our daughters slept on twin cots in the lower level room. It was dark, quiet and cool there, and that was wonderful as the temperatures reached over 90 degrees Fahrenheit during our visit to Paris, but we all slept well. The full bath on the upper level had an excellent shower, and it was nice to have a "powder room" on the main level so that we were not all sharing one bathroom all the time. The location was even better than we had expected! We walked to Notre Dame as well as the Pompidou Center and the Louvre, and we really enjoyed exploring Le Marais. We loved the convenient bakeries and shopping, as well as several nice parks for the children. The property manager was perfectly prompt and reliable, and also very pleasant. We enjoyed the place so much that we ate quite a few meals at home; there is no dishwasher, but that is a minor point and did not bother us at all. It was very convenient to have a washer and dryer. I also appreciate that the owner, Isabel, is easily reachable by email and pleasant and prompt in all of her communications. I hope you enjoy your stay at this apartment!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My family of five (3 children older than 15) very much enjoyed our stay at this address. It had ample room for all of us, and since it is on three levels we even had some privacy. The WC in the front hall is handy, too. The creative use of skylights and mirrors ensured plenty of light, even though the apartment faced an inner courtyard--and because we were not facing a street, it was quiet. And did I mention clean and comfortable? The location was very good, within easy walking distance to Notre Dame and many other sights. And it was only two blocks from the Metro, so anywhere in the city was within reach! The area is full of shops and restaurants and two very good boulangeries. The owner and the caretaker have also provided recommendations for interesting sights in the arrondissement, plus good restaurants. Barbara was also very helpful with transportation accommodations. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to anyone!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers.

We enjoyed our stay in this apartment for 6 days. It is in a convenient location, perhaps a 10 minute walk from Notre Dame. The metro station is about 5 minutes away. The Marais neighborhood has wonderful old historical buildings and great shopping (especially on Sundays, when most shops are closed in the other areas of Paris.) The apartment is quite attractive, with interesting art and a glassed in dining room. The use of mirrors makes the apartment look larger and there is also the illusion of windows. (It is an interior apartment, so basically one may not actually look outside.) It is very quiet, no street noise or noise from adjacent apartments. The apartment is on 3 levels. There is a bedroom with a king size bed and a full bathroom upstairs. The other 2 sleeping areas were a pull out bed in the living room and a pull out bed in the den/office on the basement level. We appreciated having a washer and dryer. The stairs going up to the bedroom and down to the den are steep, so my sister, who has mobility issues, slept in the living room. This is a great apartment for people who need 3 separate sleeping areas.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Three of us stayed for 9 nights in this apartment. Communicating with the owner was friendly and easy. The apartment is large and would be great for a family. The location was fantastic! So much nearby and so easy to get around from the St. Paul Metro stop. The street itself is very quaint with some great restaurants and shops. Our only criticism is that it could use a bit of a facelift (new carpet, paint, etc.) but great value for the money, location and amenities. We would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Dear Lee, Thank you for your commentaries, I greatly appreciate them. Totally agree with the need for painting and carpeting. If you realize, the painting job is only halfway through and I can’t change the carpet until is finish. I was caught in New York last April when that volcano nightmare, which delayed the starting day. The next clients were arriving and I had to get the painting team out of there. Rescheduled for November, be sure next time everything will be like it should. Client’s satisfaction is our pride. Painting work was completed in November 2010
