Framed by natural forest and fields, the three Koi ponds feature two waterfalls and a connecting stream between the two main ponds. The grounds are meticulously maintained and feature a large collection of Japanese Maples, rhododendrons, irises, evergreens, ferns, and water lilies.
A garden path leads you over a small bridge and into a secret sitting area under a grove of old growth cedars, while another leads you to a large boulder at the edge of the pond, where hungry Koi wait to be fed. Other paths lead you past a shade pond, then spiral up to another hidden sitting area and the woods beyond.
The large windows and floor plan provide beautiful views from every room, creating a sense of living within nature while still maintaining total privacy from the outside world.

Susanne and I came to Whidbey to complete a dream and a pilgrimage. We were awed and amazed by the sense of profound peace that came from the rocks, trees, ponds, and earth. Her candle burned brightly - but briefly - and she died after a long illness. Her memory would be honored to share some part of that peace.

Beautiful, peaceful retreat

This is a *beautiful* lodge-style home tucked into the forest in Whidbey Island. The property was extremely clean and well-maintained, and the landscaping is truly breathtaking. Moreover, the home has every creature comfort one could imagine - hot tub, gourmet kitchen (they even had a pastry cutter!), granite, concrete floors, gorgeous shower, brand new washer and dryer, BBQ, large TV, internet, cable, comfortable bedding, and the list goes on and on.... It is very near to Langley, where we enjoyed wine-tasting, the yarn shop, the book shop, and perusing other local stores. Clinton is also fairly close, where we visited Fern Ridge Alpacas - a wonderful alpaca farm! We very much appreciated that the owner of this property allowed us to bring our dogs, who had the time of their lives playing in a field not too far from the home, and going out on nearby hikes. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone who enjoys the outdoors or needs a quiet, restful, *beautiful* place to get away!
