Location: Sunny and Serene, Vineyard View is located on a quiet, private road with vineyard and forested mountains just beyond the backyard. This home is one level mile and easy walking distance to downtown Guerneville's nightlife, restaurants, shopping, and Johnson's Beach.
House: Vineyard View (~2200 sf) is a casually elegant, light-filled, contemporary home with cathedral ceilings, light wood paneling, amazing hardwood floors, top-quality furnishings, and a fabulous view of vineyards. This home sleeps eight on three levels. Through a gorgeous tiled gate and down a lush garden path, a set of steps leads to a large deck and the main living floor of this home.
The living room has a cathedral ceiling, a wood-burning fireplace with slate surround, a 37" satellite LCD HDTV with DirecTV DVR, a Bose iPod dock, and a ceiling fan. Off the living room, there's a formal dining room with seating for eight and stereo with CD player. Just beyond, the sunny kitchen has a tile floor, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, and a gas stove.
Off a short hallway, there are two bedrooms with queen beds, ceiling fans and garden views, and a bathroom with marble floor and shower surround (shower only). Upstairs, is the large master suite (incl. a desk set). The bedroom has a queen bed with luxury linens and a ceiling fan. The master bath has a granite vanity and combination shower/jetted tub.
Downstairs from the main level, the family room has a Trundle Bed (2 twins combined to king sleeper), a couch and a 42" LCD HDTV. Just outside the sliding glass doors, the hot tub is sheltered by the deck above. This home has wireless high-speed Internet access.
Grounds: Vineyard View is situated on a half acre of landscaped gardens with charming seating areas, enjoying sun both morning and afternoon. The rear yard features a large lawn surrounded by gardens, small redwood trees, and many fruit trees including peach, nectarine, kiwi, plum, apple, and cherry, plus raspberry and blackberry bushes.
In the garden, there's a dining set for four. The sunny deck has a gas barbecue, dining set for eight, four Adirondack chairs, and a stunning view of vineyards. A set of stairs leads to the backyard, which is fenced for dogs but is not secure against escape artists. Under the deck, there's a large hot tub and bistro dining set. There's off-street parking for three cars.

First time Russian River. We had a bachelorette weekend there, Fri-Sun. We arrived to a gorgeously landscaped front garden (I'm a landscape architect and so was one of the other guests--we were very impressed with plant selection, placement, and overall maintenance). There was plenty of parking for all of us, and the house was on a very safe, quiet street. As we walked in to the back garden, we were blown away by the view. I don't remember the ad saying there was a frickin mountain in the back. Unbelievable.
The house was clean, up-to-date, and had beautiful trendy decor. The kitchen was stocked (dish-wise), and we were delighted to see someone before us had left some top shelf tequila. The living room and dining area both had music/ipod players, which was a must for our dance party. The bedrooms all had plush linens and lots of storage.
The secret downstairs playroom was a bonus, and allowed for our karaoke contest. The spa was large enough for all of us (7), and we even used the croquet set on the huge lawn.
We took a short ride on the bikes in the garage to the beach, and picked blackberries on the hill across the driveway and made fresh cobbler.
It was like a weekend out of Sunset magazine. When you don't have to worry about the place you are staying in, or what could be better about it, you can focus on the friends and food and fun. The house could not have been better, which is why it was the best weekend ever.

"We stayed here for the winter wonderland wine festival. We had eight stay at the house and loved it. The spa was a hit along with the DIRECTV DVR, however I wish the Eagles would have won. Would definitely come to stay here again + will recommend to friends. Thank you so much."

"We continued our tradition of two-family + friends gourmet holiday getaway with a wonderful weekend at your beautiful and perfectly appointed house. The cooks amongst us were delighted by the kitchen and the top-notch pots, knives, and accessories. The separate TV/game room downstairs was perfect for the little kids (4+6) and the big kids too. It made for an enjoyable, music-filled (thanks for the Bose) stay for the parents upstairs. We enjoyed the Jacuzzi very much as well as the perfect, quiet setting of the house + gardens. Croquet was also a big hit."

We started visiting the Russian River area a few years ago with friends over Memorial Day and feel in love with the unique combination of wine country, river flair, easy access to the ocean and the Redwood parks.
The serene, majestic beauty of this Grove is a living reminder of the magnificent primeval redwood forest that covered much of this area before logging operations.
We love this place. One of the best Taco Trucks ever! They are open daily until 9 PM and are located in the Safeway Parking lot.
