    We stayed with Manani and Wilson for just over a week, myself my wife and our 3Yo had great stay. The house was so close to Concha de Perla (amazing snorkelling, sea lions, 2m wide rays, turtles, marine iguanas get trapped there when the tide goes out- its sheltered and very special) that we could go there very early in the mornings or late in the evening, meaning that we had the whole place to just ourselves and the animals. Manany and Wilson were really welcoming and warm, and we became friends over a BBQ at the house, with roasted wild boar from the highlands which Manany helped me to source when she heard I was a dedicated carnivore. Champagne, music, stories, -amazing- meat with good company. I'd recommend this place to anyone, Chez Manany was a gem, cheaper and doubtless more ecologically minded and personal than the mid to high price range hotels in Isabella town.

    Dear Manany ! thank you very much fro creating this wonderful ecolodge together with your husband! We were very lucky to find you on the internet. The place is even much more beautiful than we expected. We had nice and relaxing days here after our trips in ecuador and the cruise in the Galapagos Islands. Isabela is a fine island, with lots to see; bike trips, along the coast to the wall of tears, with a lot to see on the way, like the juvenile tortoises drinking water from the rainpool in the middle of the road.The tintoreras excursion and the hike to the sierra negra and volcan chico. We liked the town with its restaurants and we were lucky to be here during carnaval. We had a good dance at the beach under a satrlight sky! This is very special for people from Holland, where there is snow and ice at the moment. Thanks to this wonderful house we felt very much at home here.     It was such a pleasure to be here. We hope to return with our daughter, She will absolutely love it here. We found the casa to be clean, cheerful and well located, with the concha de Perla and pier so close by. The pleasant walk can´t be beat. Chez Manany earns our highest recommendation and appreciation for the many thoughtful details beginning with the excelent advise and advanced information, arrangements transfers and boat tickets. It is hard for us to leave this paradise, but I know we will be back. It was the most perfect 20th aniversary trip, everything we dream of. Warmest wishes Mark + Leigh

We have done a wonderful bike ride to el muro de las lagrimas and visited many beautiful playas. Nosotros nos sentimos bien venidos en su casa. Nosotros aprendimos a saludar en estilo ecuatoriano con un beso en la mejilla. Nosotros les invitamos a nuestro pais Holanda para andar con velero cuando Uds vais a visitar Europa.     Dearest Manany and Wil, Thank you for everything! You have been so gracious and kind. Your place is absolutely gorgeous and we loved the short walk to concha de perla. Thanks for all your help with tours, taxis, groceries, bikes, etc , etc. And the yogurt was the best i have ever tasted!     Cajo y yo Anje fuimos una semana en tu casa Chez Manany y hemos estado a gusto todos. Fuimos no como extranjeros sino como amigo al comienzo! C(Q)uando me sentia mal por la travesia en el barco regalaste el mejor chocolate del ecuador y me siento bien enseguida. El (piso) departamento es maravilloso, muy limpio y tuvimos todo lo (que) necesario. Pudimos dormir perfectamente sin ruido solo por la mañana pudimos oir los lobos en la concha de perla, "la piscina" hermosa y privada, muy cerca de nuestro (piso) departamento con lobos, tortugas y pinguinos-como en un acuario. Muchas gracias por tu hospitalidad! Tu has organizado nuestras excursiones, la comida y la travesia a Puerto Ayora perfectamente!! Hemos hablado español aunque nuestro español es una catástrofe pero tu eres una buena profesora y tenemos que aprender. Un abrazo cordial Antje y Cajo

    What a beautiful place. The accomodation is as great as the pictures if you want to have a nice quiet place to rest and to visit Isabella, this is it. Manany and her husband are tremendous hosts. They were quite helpful and some of the nicest people we have met in the Galapagos.

    Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

    Hemos pasado unos días maravillosos en Isabela. El alojarnos en Chez Manany fue sin duda un gran acierto. Estuve con mi pareja y con sus padres. Nos alojamos una pareja en cada planta, nosotros en la suite y mis suegros en el apartamento. La casa es preciosa, con todas las comodidades y detalles que uno espera. La localización también nos pareció fantástica, justo a pocos metros de Concha de Perla, una piscina natural con salida al mar donde pudimos nadar y hacer snorkeling, siempre rodeados de peces de colores, bebes de leones marinos, tortugas... También está al lado del puerto desde donde salen los paseos en barco. Recomiendo el tour de bahía. Isla Isabela y todo Galapagos son un paraíso. Hemos viajado por muchos lugares donde la naturaleza es la protagonista y la experiencia de Galapagos ha sobrepasado nuestras expectativas.. También agradecer a Mariana por su total disponibilidad a la hora de ayudarnos en la preparación de nuestro viaje y durante nuestra estancia en Manany. Gracias por su generosidad y por su amabilidad. Tenemos unos recuerdos maravillosos de las isles Galapagos y de toda su gente. Ojalá pueda volver pronto.

    We´ve had a wonderful visit to isabela! There is much to do in this lovely town. With only 3 days we made hikes to the "wall of tears" a stone wall constructed by prisioners in 1946 (!) and hiked to the top to see the amazing views. Along the way (about 5 km) there are many trails you can take to explore ponds, mangroves and pinturesques beach landscapes. Be sure you take 4 or 5 of these side excursions. They are well worth it. Also, you will sea land turtles along the route! Such sweet and gentle creatures.... On day 2 we hiked up sierra negra + back. Round trip the walk is 8 miles. We went on a tour bus from a hotel....... On day 3 we went scuba diving at isla Tortuga a collapsed caldera not far from Isabela. We went with isabela dive center after asking around town. .................... The beach is absolutely beautiful specially at sunset. The restaurants at the square are great. We ate in a lot to save time waitng for la (Q)Cuenta! Be suer to see the flamingos in the salt ponds on the way to the tortoises breeding center (road at iguana crossing lodge). Have a wonderful trip! there are several thing we did´nt have time to for.. ask Mariana she can help you with everything + is an amazing, friendly sweet hostess. Thank you. XOX

    My wife, my three-year-old daughter and I were lucky enough to stay at Manany for about a week. We were not surprised to find paradise-like beaches, exotic animals and lots of sun in Isla Isabela. Not for nothing they called the Galapagos the "enchanted islands". However, we were surprised to find a place like Manany, which combines comfort and exquisite taste without disturbing the local landscape. Mariana helped us plan our trip and it was very easy for us to communicate with her via Internet. Our experience with Mariana and our experience at Manany were absolutely positive. We would definitely love to go back. This must be a great place for a honey moon or someone looking for some peace. Mi esposa, mi hija de tres años y yo tuvimos la suerte de alojarnos en Manany como por una semana. No nos sorprendimos al encontrar playas paradisíacas, animales exóticos y mucho sol en la Isla Isabela. No por nada a las Galápagos las llaman las "islas encantadas". En cambio sí nos llamó la atención encontrar un lugar como Manani, que combina mucha comodidad con gusto exquisito, sin incomodar al paisaje del lugar. Mariana nos ayudó a planear nuestro viaje y nos resultó muy fácil comunicarnos con ella vía internet. Nuestra experiencia con Mariana y en Manany fue absolutamente positiva. Sin lugar a dudas que nos encantaría volver. Seguramente este es un buen lugar como para una luna de miel o para alguien en busca de paz.

    My Husband and I had a wonderful week at Chez Manany at the end of August. Mariana was so helpful from our first communication with her regarding our stay. She answered our many questions and booked our flights from Baltra to Isabela for us. The photos and descriptions of the property are more than accurate and we found we were just able to relax, especially after a long flight from New Zealand and enjoy the wonderful peaceful surroundings. By the time we left New Zealand we felt Manany was a friend and this proved to be more than the case by the time we left Ecuador. Chez Manany is about a 10 minute walk to the main part of the town where there are some local restaurants and beautiful beaches there and beyond. We hired the bicycles to cycle to the Wall of Tears, a wonderful ride stopping off at the many bays along the way, not to mention avoiding the tortoises and iguanas sunning themselves on the roadside as we cycled past. Isabela is a quiet island, very safe and is just the place for peace and relaxation. The property was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and is just a short walk from the very picturesque boat harbour. We would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet getaway to enjoy nature at its best, with no worries about sea conditions!

It is located very close to the dock where we arrived and a lagoon for snorkeling. It is walking distance to the beach and town. The hostess was so helpful and gave us a personal tour of the town. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare breakfast we enjoyed on the deck. It was extremely clean and comfy. I would stay there again

    My husband and I had done the boat trip all around the Galapagos islands years ago. However, we decided that this time we wanted to stay on one island and explore. We picked Isabela for its various sights and geography as well as its location in the Galapagos. I first found Mariana and Will's place on the web. The photos were beautiful and Mariana's first email response was extremely warm and friendly. Mariana arranged all the details of our flight to and from Isabela and, after having to delay our trip, she was very helpful in making all the arrangements needed to change our dates - and was very gracious about the change in plans. Chez Manany had everything we were hoping for: privacy, yet accessability to town; plenty of room to feel like we were at home; and a nice place to return to after full days out on the island or at sea. Mariana could not have been more helpful and both she and her husband felt like old friends by the time we left for home. One of the best things about their location for my husband was that he could walk to a nearby swimming pond every morning to start his day with a cooling swim. The marina was just around the corner for our day boat trips and the town was only about a ten minute walk to go to meet up with our guides for the other day trips we took. It was safe enough to walk to town at night for an evening meal and to enjoy the night breezes. All in all, if you are planning to spend a few days on Isabela, you simply could not do better than Chez Manany! We hope to get back soon. Tom and Sandra Edwards

    Dragons + Sea lions, Oh my ! =) We had a fantastico time here! During siesta, - If your gringos like us, hanging out @ the beach @ the habor was great. Snorkling the cave + swimming with penguins + sea lions rock! We´ve had better diving visibility in Caymans,- Watch out for the currents! Over all great trip + great to be out of Michigan´s subzero temp´s. Good luck Mariana + Family with your beautiful home love,

    Hi to everyone! Me and my Husband stayed for one week at Chez Manany and hada wonderful time. The suite is beautiful everything wood and really ecological, they have solar energy and really good water threatmentsystems. The owners are really helpful and nice, wonderful persons. The lovely suite is located near the town and the beach, actually a perfect location in 5 min you can reach a natural pool ich wich you can do snorkling. The suite is full equiped and everything is new. Our stay was just wonderful i can´t wait to go back

    Mañana regreso a Quito aun no comienzo a irme y ya deseo regresar a Isabela. Es que mi permanencia de tres semanas en esta isla ha sido una experiencia innolvidable, como arquitecto me ha impresionado esta casa porque es una de las mas hermosas de la población y porque tanto su diseño como sus materiales son amables con el medio natural, no lo confrontan sino que lo respetan. El detalle con el que se lo ha equipado a este departamento es de óptima calidad y funcionalismo. No es otra cosa que la consecuencia del espíritu de hospitalidad de sus propietarios. Todo esto en una isla con un medio natural extraño y asombroso donde los contrastes dramáticos entre vegetación, playas y mar se alternan con las frecuentes e insolitas sorpresas que la fauna provoca. Gracias y felicitaciones se merece de verdad un gran éxito.

    En Chez Mananz hemos podido disfrutar de las cosas mas lindas de la vida. Además de que la casa es hermosa, se encuentra en un lugar privilegiado (nos encantó estar tan cerca de un sitio tan especial como concha de perla!). Estamos enormemente agradecidos por la hospitalidad y el carinño con los que fuimos recibidos. Les deseamos de corazón la mejor de las suertes.
