CASA DEL SURFISTA is a unique and elegant home designed and built by local artist and architect Gustavo Jasso. Gustavo's use of organic materials and tropical style has turned our property into a relaxing, comfortable getaway. The house, completed in the fall of 2009, is sited on 1.5 acres with 330 feet of oceanfront. The walled property affords incredible privacy.
The main palapa is open air and includes two living rooms, two baths and a dining room and kitchen. The pool wraps around the lower living area. There is a two bedroom loft above with its own bath. We have a bedroom off of the living room with it's own bath. We have a separate cabana that sleeps six and has air conditioning. Our home has one and a half acres of land and has 330 feet of beachfront in La Saladitas. It is extremely quiet and private with a wall around the entire property. Most days you will be the only one on the beach. We have created a private beach around the pool area as well.
SURFING at La Saladitas is a great place. We are one mile to the well known break La Saladitas (aka the wave machine) claiming the longest lefts in Mexico. La Saladitas is a great longboarder wave and great for kids. We also have a beach break right in front of the house if you are a shortboarder. Twenty minutes away is The Ranch. We have onsite caretakers Beto and Paty that live on property, and can be hired to prepare meals. Beto is a former pro surfer and local surf instructor and can give lessons and take advanced groups to nearby breaks. He can also arrange for board rentals, and repairs.
YOGA RETREATS can be arranged for an additional fee. We have an instructor from the US who will come down and personalize your yoga vacation. She is available at anytime with advanced notice. We have our own private beachfront platform overlooking the ocean. She also specializes in Thai massage.

LA SALADITAS IS A UNIQUE AREA. IT IS WELL KNOW BY SURFERS BUT HAS SO MUCH MORE TO OFFER. IT IS A VERY QUIET AREA NOT OVERBUILT AND EXTREMELEY BEAUTIFUL. THE WEATHER IS VERY CONSISTENT EVEN IN THE WINTER. THE TEMPERATURE IS ALWAYS BETWEEN 80-90 DEGREES. THE WATER IS ALWAYS IN THE 80'S. THE LOCAL PEOPLE ARE VERY NICE AND IF YOU SPEAK SPANISH THEY WILL TALK WITH YOU ALL DAY. THERE ARE ALSO MANY BREAKS TO CHOOSE FROM. TAKE A PANGA TO THE RANCH AND PALO ALTO, SURF SALADITAS OR SURF OUR WAVE INFRONT OF THE HOUSE. THERE ARE WAVES IN TRONCONES AND IXTAPA AS WELL IF YOU WANT TO EXPLORE THE COAST.

WE JUST RECENTLY FINISHED OUR HOUSE IN LA SALADITAS. WE PICKED THIS AREA BECAUSE THE WAVES, THE PEOPLE AND THE BEAUTY OF THE LANDSCAPE ARE ALL WONDERFUL. OUR HOUSE TOOK 2 YEARS TO BUILD. ALOT OF THOUGHT AND TIME WENT INTO ALL THE DETAILS OF OUT HOUSE. WE WANTED A VERY ORGANIC STYLE HOUSE WITH A FEELING OF RELAX AS SOON AS YOU WALK IN THE DOOR. THE DOWNSTAIRS IS VERY BRIGHT AND HAPPY. OUR UPSTAIRS LOFT HAS WOODEN FLOORS AND WITH THE PALAPA ROOF IT HAS A JAPANESE ZEN FEELING. THE CABINA IS ALL WHITE AND WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING FEELS MORE LIKE A FOUR SEASONS. WE HAVE ALL STYLES.

I am the owner of sol sessions, surf and yoga retreats for women. Our newest destination is Casa del Surfista. There are so many reasons to return to this organic getaway- the view, the indoor/outdoor living space, the attention to detail, the food, the caretakers, the location, the pool, the comfortable beds, the endless coconuts, the cool bathrooms, the salsa verde, the beach out front, the soft towels, the beautiful plates, the fresh juices, the papaya’s, the huge palapa BUT most of all the good times that were had in this amazing natural environment. We maxed out the house with 14 people and we all had some place to call our own. The caretaker’s Patty and Beto will take good care of you and by the time you leave you will feel like part of the family. Patty’s food is an incredible combination of healthy authentic Mexican cuisine. Her variety of fresh food and incredible salsa’s make every meal a culinary masterpiece. Beto, is our hero. He speaks beautiful English and is a kind, genuine person who will do anything he can to help you. He is a surf guide and will set you up with what you need from boards, to boats, to lessons and have you standing up and going down the line in no time. The location of the house is also a huge perk. It is private enough that you can surf out front by yourself all day, catch a boat to local breaks or take a 2 minute ride down the beach for the main peak. It is also a short distance to Trancones which is a fun beach town with great restaurants and shopping. This house and the caretakers are the reason Sol Sessions is in Mexico and we look forward to many great sessions to come.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with young children.

This place was a great vacation. Really away from it all. I went with my extended family. We all thought there was the perfect combination of "stuff to do" (swimming, surfing, walks on the beach) and hang time. The food was wondeful and the property managers are delightful. We had the opportunity to try out surf lessons with the entire family. You can boogie board and surf directly from the house; the break point a mile away is also amazing. Sign up for the cooking and meals... it's totally worth it. We can't wait to go back.

We just returned from a fabulous Thanksgiving vacation at Casa del Surfista. We loved it and slept wonderfully; the beds and pillows are just right! Temp: 90º day, 75º night, water 82º. Main house has a very nice sleeping loft with separate bathroom. The main level includes the kitchen and living areas which are spacious and comfortable with beautiful views of the ocean. A cozy nook with curtains is just off the living room for either siestas or sleeping at night with a full bath steps away. Cell phones work in some areas of the house. We were happy to see that there were no TVs! The pool was a nice place to retreat in the afternoon. The cabina has equally nice views. The beach directly in front of the house is a little rocky (just round stones), but if you walk a few hundred feet you can walk as long as you like (miles) on beautiful, deserted, soft, flat sand beach where we found lots of sand dollars! We surfed with the kids just a few feet away from the house where there is a nice sand bar for learning to surf or to swim. Saladitas is a mile walk to the south. The surfers of the group would drive down for the morning session at Saladitas and some of us would walk down to meet them. Beto and Patty, the caretakers, were very attentive and cannot recommend more that you use them for shopping as well as cooking. Patty selects the most wonderful ingredients. As a foreigner I wouldn't have known where to get the best food – why grocery shop when she can do it better than you anyway? Her cooking is amazing! We had hot cakes and eggs mexicana, toast, fresh fruit and smoothies every morning! We made our own lunches - the panini maker was a treat with the delicious mexican manchego cheese and ham! Yum! The dinners: wonderful! She has many menus and loved every meal. She also made delicious juices, depending on what's in season. We had guava juice, cucumber/lime juice and flor de jamaica juice as well. She also makes fab red and green salsas as well as yummy guacamole. They also do the dishes, make the beds and clean everyday: a true vacation. One more thing, Patty thoroughly washes all the fruits and vegetables so you will not have any digestive problems; and her salads are great! If you want a relaxing, private vacation, this is the place for you. I recommend converting your money in Ixtapa before you come to the house, because you just don't want to leave the beauty and tranquility of Casa de
