With the grand wood-burning fire-place in the Great Room, a complete chef’s kitchen, an outdoor fire-pit, and a separate outdoor dining and barbequing area, the Sanctuary Cabin is equipped as the ultimate retreat for those who know the importance of quality down time with friends and family to relax from life’s everyday pressures.
We are located approximately 27 miles east of Payson, AZ and 6 miles east of Christopher Creek, AZ. Like most of our guests, you will be enjoying the great views of the Mogollon Rim, fishing, or going for walks in the woodsy National Forests, Christopher Creek and surrounding areas. You may want to go for more serious hiking, or mountain biking, which is also available in the immediate vicinity. Hunting and horseback riding is nearby. There are too many ATV trails to mention and rentals are also available locally.
If you're considering booking in the winter, it would be wise to have 4-wheel drive. We have no central heat in the cabin. You must maintain the fire in the fireplace throughout your visit. It has a blower that will heat the cabin comfortably. Firewood is furnished. There are space heaters available for the bedrooms. No guests have complained about being too cold!
You may want to go into Payson to a movie, dinner, or antique shopping. Any time is a good time and decompress at the Sanctuary Cabin in Colcord Estates, Arizona.

Year Purchased: 2007
I live in Phoenix AZ and purchased this property as a home for my father he would be closer to me for his retirement. He was diagnosed with cancer 3 months after I purchased this and now lives with me in Phoenix full time. He cannot stay at the cabin as he has chemo treatments and those types of facilities are not nearby. I am renting it so that I do not have to sell it in these terrible real estate market times. It is a gorgeous piece of property that can easily house a full family comfortably.
Why the Owner Chose Payson
This is a fantastic piece of property with a seasonal stream across it and unbelievable views of the Mogollon Rim. We are on an Elk path they use to go down to get water. It is on just under 5 acres of land and backs right up to the National Forest Preserve with the Mogollon Rim to the front.
