We had a wonderful stay in Simone and Martina's apartment. It was clean , well equipped and exactly as described. The location was perfect. We were with walking distance to all the sites. There were restaurants close by, and a couple of grocery stores just around the corner. If you're bringing a computer, the WiFi was reliable , fast and had a strong signal. Simone and Martina were helpful and professional .They answered any emails we sent before the trip quickly and were there on time when we arrived and even helped us book a taxi back to the train station when we had to leave. Next time we are in Florence we will definitely stay here again and we will recommend it to anyone going to Florence. Thanks for a wonderful stay

Everyone in our traveling party thought this was the best space we stayed in, hands down! It was clean and modern. We all loved the rooftop deck. Martina left us some wine from her own Chianti vineyard and allowed us to buy more later! The flat is close to everything, even the train station, and is very simple to find on a map.

My wife and daughter and I had a wonderful 7 night visit to Florence in late March 2012. We stayed here and had a great time. The apartment was as pictured on VRBO, it was clean, comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen. The views from the terrace were great and the step up to the apartment were not a factor at all. We met both Martina and Simone, who were very nice, on time, helpful with recommendations and accessible. I would highly recommend this apartment.

The apartment was clean, spacious, lovely decorated and had the modern touches of home. Great prime location. Shops and cafes everywhere. Martina and Simone were wonderful hosts. And did I mention the view? Our adult family of 5 loved the apartment and Florence. Thank you for making our vacation great. Yes, there are steps to climb but it wouldn't keep me from renting again.

My family (ages 12-45) stayed here 5 days over Christmas 2011. Listing was accurate. Views are as shown- and completely amazing-- and which were lovely to have in the cold of winter. Comfortable amenities, nice to have a washer in- house. Two bathrooms was really a plus. Owners were extremely helpful and restaurant recommendations were spot on. You will not find a better location, local sights are all within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to others-- just know that having a beautiful view means you have many steps to climb to get there. It was worth it! Thank you for making our Christmas holiday perfect.

A Florence Find!

We stayed in 3 apartments in Italy during our one-month visit this fall--Rome, Florence and Venice. All were within the price range of this gem in Florence, but Casa DelCo far exceeded the other 2 apartments in every respect. First, the owners Martina and Simone could not have been better! This started from the first email that I sent and lasted throughout the whole stay. While other potential apartment owners were of no help regarding parking a car, they said from the first that they would handle it--and they did! They were both waiting for us on a Sunday afternoon, to help us park our rental car (no easy feat in Florence). While Martina showed our friends how to use features in the apartment, Simone accompanied us to free parking at the Piazzale Michelangelo some distance away, and then walked us back to the apartment until Martina had a chance to pick us up in her car. What better service could we want? They also arranged for a taxi to come pick us up when we were leaving to go back to our car. They were very accessible by phone, email and texting. The apartment is simply lovely and beautifully decorated in a modern style that fits really well with the older feel of its building and Florence generally. Everything was great. We especially liked the roof terrace where we could look across red-tiled roofs to the Duomo, which is kept lit all night long. The kitchen was modern and perfectly stocked with the right utensils, etc. You won't find a better location in Florence! This is especially nice if you want to sightsee, and then come back mid-day to rest or have a bite to eat before heading out again later in the day. We unhesitatingly recommend this apartment as THE place to stay in Florence, and we found it by luck on VRBO!

We loved everything about our time in Florence. The apartment was excellent, the location was perfect and the view from the roof top terrace was a real bonus! Our family of three teenagers loved the layout and decor of the apartment. The loft is definitely not child friendly without any railing.

We arrived in July 2011. There were 4 adults (2 married couples). Once we got over the fact of how many steps we had to climb to get to the apt - it was lovely !!!!.The bedrooms were clean and had enough room to walk around in. Both bathrooms were modern and very clean. There is a full size coffee maker YES !!!!! as most places we stay at have the one cupper size.The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and the owners left us a bottle of their wine. The apt was delightful and the owners were informative and very helpful. The location was great - it is situated on a quaint street leading right to a piazza full of restaurants and entertainment. It is 15 -20 walk to many toruist areas and a huge flea market. All kinds of quaint chocolate shops,grocery store and the best gelato ever !!!! Could not have asked for a better apartment with such a fabulous location. We were only there for 4 days in July on our treck through Italy and Spain, But we agreed we would have loved to stay longer. Everything about the apartment was just as described...There are a few stairs to climb...just made us thirsty after a day of touring. Great restaurants and sites...all within walking distance. Fabulous Gelato at RIVA RENO just down the street. and IL LATINA for the best Bistecca Fiorentina in Florence. Would certainly stay again at Casadelco... Thank Simone 4 from Ontario,Canada

Perfect Apartment

My family of 4 stayed in Casa Delco for 5 days in June of 2011. This was the best place we stayed during our 2 week trip of Italy. This is possibly the best apartment I have rented using VRBO over the past 6 years!! Everything was clean and having the washing machine, the clothes line and clothes pins, the hair dryer, the well equipped kitchen and the basic cooking supplies all helped to make traveling in a foreign country so much easier. This location is fabulous. Florence really is a city made for walking; you can get to the Duomo in minutes, there are several small grocery stores or fruit markets, etc within a 3 to 5 minute walk. One thing to note, not everyone speaks English. I think sometimes we assume most people in "tourist" areas all speak English, but in many of the small stores or the grocery stores, they did not. With that said, we did fine with the little French we did know and most people were patient with us. Also to add, Simone was wonderful during the planning of our trip. He was helpful, curteous, very accomodating upon our departure; I couldn't have asked for more. One of our favorite gelato places was down by Pont Vecchio. It was on the right hand side across the street from the bridge just a little before you get to the bridge. I am sorry I don't remember the name, but you just walk up to the counter/window to order your gelato and it was fabulous. Grom is the very famous Gelateria, and very close to the apartment, but we didn't think it was worth the wait in line. The most fun we had was simply wandering around Florence and "getting lost" down all the different side streets and the best part is all you have to do is look up to find the Duomo and then you can find your way home. Also we felt very safe in the area around the apartment. It was a great trip and great place to stay.

The apartment is as pictured and described. We had two couples and it worked perfectly for us. We walked everywhere we needed to go. The neighborhood was wonderful with shops, markets and restaurants. STAIRS, stairs, stairs. This place is not for someone with bad knees or is out of shape. The stairs do get less tiresome each trip, however. Wonderful views of Duomo from the living room, bedroom and rooftop terrace. We enjoyed the bells from the Duomo tower and the organ music wafting from the church organ concert every evening. The apartment is unbelievably quiet with the windows closed. What a delight, would recommend it and would return.

My life was changed forever after staying in this lovely apartment in true florentine fashion. Just open the large windows to see il Doumo less than 100 feet away. The bells welcoming in the fresh air and the sounds of people making their way down the cobblestone streets. The stairs are definetly a challenge for young and old alike, but even at my age I say this it is worth the climb be there twenty or one hundred stairs to climb. As you enter the modernized and carefully decorated living quarters you see that there is more to this perfect view of Il Doumo. The very best in hosts Martina and Simone are helpful and friendly.They helped us with several phone calls to set up reservations and get in museums in the area. The complementary wine and tote bag are lovely and the kitchen a dream to cook in. The neighborhood is made to order, with lovely shops and an upscale grocery store. But that is NOT ALL. Climb the spiral stairs to the roof and you can open your bottle of wine and salute all of Florence at the terrace view. It is difficult to say that one could ever forget this beauty and I want to return as soon as possible to this remarkable place. Thank you so much Simone and Martina, it is a brillant make -over to this special place and I wish everyone could experience Firenze like this. M

We stayed here for the month of February while taking language and art classes. We were delighted with the apartment and couldn't have been happier. It was everything it claimed to be - clean, comfortable, well-equipped, with great looking furnishings and touches. The location is extraordinary - just steps to all the main sights, galleries, shopping, restaurants etc. The owners, Simone and Martina, couldn't have been kinder. My husband and I as well as another couple enjoyed our stay in this beautiful apartment. The apartment is even more beautiful than the photos. The owners are was very responsive and hospitable. We were not sure the exact time of our arrival and they were happy to work around our schedule. The location is fabulous as you are within walking distance to all the sites. I wish we could've stayed longer and hope we can come visit again soon.

Wondeful apartment in Florence

We stayed at this apartment in mid January 2011 and had a wonderful time. Florence itself is amazing an a highlight of any holiday in Europe / Italy. The apartment itself is modern and split level, with all the living and sleeping on the same floor with a mezzanine and out door deck on the roof. The deck, even in the middle of winter, was great for looking at the Florence skyline and the Domo etc. We where met at the apartment by the owners and they where available on short notice to deal with our questions etc. Would stay here again. We stayed in a number of apartments in Europe and this was about the best one we used. Be aware this is on the top floor, of the building, about 60 odd steps up with no elevator.

Great way to see Italy

The view was amazing from the rooftop veranda as we were in the city center, as the Duomo felt like it was within arm's reach. This really was nearby to everything (unlike some other hotels and advertisements). We were within a 5 minute walk of all the museums, piazzas, and bridges. The great view of the city across the river was barely a 20 minute walk. Train station-- only a 10 minute walk This was much more comfortable than a hotel; clean and well maintained- we found ourselves cooking at home. Our hosts were gracious and had excellent suggestions for local dining and tourist info. The apartment intererior was cute and quaint with a brick interior, wood beams, and rustic facade. There was a touch of modernization with the glass, air conditioning and LED's. The 5 story walk up may be tough for some, but it was all part of the decor I'd recommend as a jump off point for anyone travelling to florence, especially if you were plannning on seeing all of Italy due to its central location.

Did Not Want to Leave!

Upon arriving in Florence my daughter and I were greeted warmly and made to feel at home immediately. The apartment is welcoming and contains the perfect combination of modern amenities and that wonderful charm of Florence that makes one wish that this was more than just a holiday. The view was incredible! It didn't matter which window you looked out of you would be greeted by a masterpiece of historical importance. After a day of sightseeing many nights I would simply enjoy the view from the terrace, also taking in the sounds of the city and the delicious aromas of families cooking their evening meals. Centrally situated in the heart of all that is Florence I was amazed at the close proximity to all the sights. A quick walk to the Duomo, another to the Piazza della Signoria, the Ponte Vecchio, the Piazza della Reppublica, and so on. Grocery stores if you are inclined to do cooking are readily available, if not the food to choose from is limitless. And, of course, Florence is a shoppers paradise whether you are searching for leather, gold, or a souvenir to bring home. To summarize: I will return to Florence and I would not hesitate to rent this apartment again. I would think of no other place. I greatly enjoyed my stay here. Thank you for being excellent hosts and answering my questions and if you are in my area some day please stop in!

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of March 2010. The photos and video on Youtube did not do it justice. The actual apartment was even better in person. There was plenty of room for a family of 4. We planned on cooking but there was just too many good places to eat nearby. The roof-top terrence was my favorite place. I can't say enough good things about our stay but "it was perfect".

We've rented many wonderful properties on VRBO over the years, and this one ranks among the very best. The pics, as nice as they are, really don't do it justice. Every day my wife said: "Did I tell you how much I LOVE this place?" She's very particular, but, yes, it's simply that nice. The location, smack-dab in the middle of the city, is ideal, and the roof-top view is incredible. Martina and Simone did an amazing job renovating this property. And you can tell they put a lot of thought into providing absolutely everything a renter might need during a stay. When we arrived, they answered all of our questions and showed us how to use everything in the unit. When we arrived and left, they even helped us carry our luggage up and down the steps (which are steep but well worth the climb) . As you can tell, we were thoroughly impressed.

This is a beautiful apartment with an unbeatable location. Our family of 4 (two teenage children) had plenty of room and we loved it. We were able to do some home cooking with the well equipped kitchen. Simone and his family were so kind and welcoming to us it is difficult to imagine better hosts. We have come to the end of our 5 day stay in this beautiful apartment and are eager to praise it's many positive points. First the location,it's perfect - minutes from everything including shopping, marketing, museums and transport. Second the comfort, this apartment is very clean, well appointed and comfortable. We're a family of 4 and we have been very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and a pleasure to cook in. Third and most importantly, Simone and Martina are the perfect hosts. They made sure all our needs were met and their love and passion for their city is obvious. The stairs to the apartment are hard work, but we got used to them. We highly reccomend this apartment and hope to return one day.

We had the most enchanted Christmas at Casa DelCo!. Simone and Martina were wonderful during our planning stage and then took time on Christmas Day from their family to greet us and make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. They even had a beautiful Christmas tree for us under which we could put the few presents we had brought with us. The location is ideal. The apartment is even nicer than it looks in the pictures and spotlessly clean. The rooftop terrace is the best kind of bonus! The kitchen is so well-equipped that our Florentine friends brought the ingredients and cooked our Christmas dinner right there! The steps are tough, but well worth it! We can't wait to go back and stay longer.
