This is the second time I've stayed at this cabin and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The view from the porch is the best of any house I've stayed in - period. The house is very clean and comfortable in a super quiet and somewhat secluded development a couple of miles off the BRP. The road into the house was always an adventure looking for the different wildlife to be seen along the way. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a mountain getaway. The owners were great to deal with and very responsive. Can't wait to book again.

We had a great time at the cabin. Everything was awesome. It was as it is pictured in the ad. I have a 14 and a 17 year old. Both loved it. We plan to go back next year if at all possible. Thanks for allowing to use your home. God bless.

Cabin NOT '"Guest Raedy"
Cabin NOT '"Guest Raedy"
The cabin was where it was said to be. The photos do not reflect the appearance: linens old and need to be replaced, couch cushions thread barren, bed quilt torn, too much clutter. The property was not clean: had to sweep up black ants and cob webs from drapes, red mold on bottom of shower curtain and it smelled like urine, gas grill grates were absolutely filthy and had to be scoured before using them, the cleaning supply closet was in absolute disarray, bedroom dressing table bench is broken to the point it fell apart when pulled out, futon in loft broken and cannot be used. This cabin is quite pretty but needs lots of attention. It's too bad it is not better taken care of. We are not novices to cabin rentals (have stayed in cabins in NC, SC, TN, OH, and Crocket, VA; and GA, Before our stay the owner was helpful with questions. As for concerns, I have not had the chance to e-mail them with my disappointment concerning their rental property. As for activities, we enjoyed the antique shops, the beautiful wineries, the local towns, and the Mabry Mill Restaurant and the Lakeview Restaurant.

We enjoyed our time in your cabin, the view is amazing. I love the mountians , the cabin was very clean. The sofa isn't in the best of shape. Other than that it was a great few days. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great place to stay.Description was accurate and the owner provide excellent service. We ate at Barney Res. in Mabery food was very good. Toured the musemens, enjoy the antique shops . We mostly stayed at the cabin and took nice walks, watching the deer and wild turkeys was fun. Thank You Argie Locklear

Our stay at this BEAUTIFUL Cabin was Great! The cabin was very clean, had everything you could possibly need. The Pond was great to fish in, we caught a lot of fish. The view is so much better in person!!!!!! My children enjoyed the games they had for you to play. It was very quiet & peaceful, we also saw a lot of deer. I would recommend this cabin to everyone. Mr. Atkins was very nice, and answered all the questions we had about the area. We hope to stay again.

The home was truly superb in every way for the four of us who stayed there. Even the four mile drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway to the house was terrific. Each of us couples trailered our motorcycles there to discover new roads and sights within the SW VA area and we certainly were not disappointed in the least. But this was the first trip (two per summer) during the past several years when we actually shortened each day's ride in order to get back to the house and enjoy the spectacular scenic views offered when relaxing on the oversized rear deck. Plus the fact that the home offered unusually great comfort, unlike that which is generally found when staying a week at most mountain locations. All in all, what a spectacular place in a spectacular location. Every day was greatly enjoyed and appreciated.

Our stay at the cabin was wonderful. The view from the cabin is fantastic and the cabin was clean and contained everything we needed, including kitchen and bathroom items. David and Susan were great to deal with and answered all our questions about the area. Fishing in the local pond was fun. Use worms to fish, they really bit well on those. We went to opening day fishing at Crooked Creek, which was a huge mistake. There were tons of fisherman there and very difficult to fish without someone right next to you or wading in the creek. Suggest skip opening day and fish after that. FYI, Mabry Mill restaurant was closed until May 1st. Went to Mayberry (Mount Airy) and had a wonderful time - most of the shops were open and was a great shopping experience. I would recommend this cabin to everyone.

Beautiful View, but needs some TLC from the owners

We wanted a place to spend thanksgiving with family and quality time before a military deployment. I have severe allergies and asked several times regarding the pet policy. I was assured no pets. When we arrived there was a pet bowl by the door and opened bags of dog food in the pantry. The back porch chair cushions were laying by the back door and had holes chewed into them. There were hairs all over the upstairs broken futon. The rocking chair was broken, dvd's were left out. The cuckoo clock was broken. The water was not hot, the downstairs bathroom tub drain was clogged and filled with water while showering. The towel rack was not secured to the wall and fell on a guests foot. The place was in need of a really good cleaning. The cabinets and closets were a mess. Also, the refrig moves away from the wall each time it is opened. I was very disappointed and we actually thought about leaving and going somewhere else. But, I promised my family dinner. The place was big enough for that and I did pretty much find everything I needed, although doing dishes was quite a chore, due to the water issues and water pressure, I had to do them in increments. There is no dishwasher or garbage disposal. I did express my concerns to the owner and he just said "thanks for your concerns". That was kind of a surprise because it was like a different person than when I was inquiring about the place. I offered him pictures that I had taken, and he didn't even ask to see them. The place could be so amazing with just a few basic things and cleaning. The view was to die for! I would love to go back again, but with the cleanliness issues and other things and lack of caring, I guess we will have to look elsewhere, which is a shame. Also, the upstairs bath shower is dinky, dinky. I am 96lbs, 5'1 and I could hardly raise my arms to rinse my hair. One other strange thing, in the downstairs bedroom there is a bowl and pitcher on the dresser. The pitcher was stuffed with long sticky cellephane wrappers of some sort, like someone just shoved them in there. Also, want to mention the pictures are not up to date on this site. There are dark curtains hanging on rods that fall when you move the curtains and they are all stained across the bottom, this is in the main area. None of the cushions were on the back porch furniture as pictured. They cushions were all on the floor of the porch, along with a curled up wet mat. We had no greeting or welcome at all inside upon our arrival.

This cabin was a great choice for our family of four adults and a 2 year old. The views of Pilot Mountain and Mt. Airy are spectacular. The kitchen has everything needed to cook your meals in and there are many extras - games for the kids, movies, grill, and plenty of seating both inside and out. Note - this property is in a community so if you're looking for total privacy "in the woods", this is not for you. There is another cabin very close by but that was not a problem for us. More importantly, you get the views and it's easily accessible..no heart in throat, 4 wheel drive climb to the property. Loved it!

As described in most other reviews, the house was wonderful and the view spectacular. The house is located at the end of a narrow, twisty road on a ridge with a long view over what we determined to be Mount Airy, VA. We were looking for pretty countryside and back roads on which to ride motorcycles and were not disappointed. Again, as described in other reviews, the water smells like sulfa.
