Our dream home, can now be your dream vacation home! Enjoy your honeymoon, romantic getaway, or use it as a great family compound with an additional jungle villa as a fourth bedroom if needed. Lovely two bedroom main house and separate guest suite. Secluded in nature for privacy, but close enough to beaches, surfing, waterfalls, horseback riding, zip-lining, nature reserves, fabulous restaurants and spas, snorkeling and scuba, etc...'With stunning views of the incredible South Pacific shoreline and majestic mountains, this invitingly warm home, comfortably nestled into the mountainside, offers a variety of tranquil and cozy living spaces that are beautifully integrated into its natural jungle setting. The perfectly maintained grounds and mixture of lovely antiques, textured fabrics and other comfortable furnishings, lend a soft, simple elegance to the main house and casita. This home, meant to be shared with close family and special friends, is wonderfully private and relaxing.'
Private Setting: Everyone agrees, we have found the perfect spot, and now we would like to share it with you. We are the last house at the end of a country lane, in a small but prestigious community on the Escaleras mountain ridge, called Las Terrazas. We are 8 minutes off the main highway, (and we do recommend you rent a 4x4 vehicle for this area in general) up to the perfect elevation for cool breezes, but not high enough to be socked in by clouds. Our 5 acres are mostly jungle, so the houses butt up and into the forest. Monkeys, toucans and sloths are our constant companions in the trees by the pool. We look down the dramatic southern Pacific coast line, over crescent beaches and white water splashing on the rocks, as well as the majestic mountain backdrop.
Living Spaces: As a three bedroom, you will enjoy the main house with it's two bedroom and two baths, both with king size beds, as well as the villa, appropriately named Casa Vista. If you feel the need for more room, Casa Selva may be rented as a 4th bedroom. All are the perfect blend of homey comfort and tropical living, with high vaulted ceilings and fans, it will surely feel like your home away from home in no time. As with most homes everyone seems to gather in the kitchen, and in this case we are well suited for the task. The stools set around the tiled island and the country kitchen table are an inviting place to gather. As the conversation rolls along about the day's surf, or other big adventures, or just the solving of all the world's problems - the cook won't miss a thing. When dinner is ready you may prefer to move outside to the open air living/dining area. Here you can enjoy the pool and the view, and maybe a fire in the outdoor fireplace for a touch more ambiance.
Living Spaces: The large, open loft style master bedroom upstairs has a balcony that overlooks the whole southern coast. The downstairs bedroom is also a master bedroom in the sense that it has a private access to the downstairs bath. Both have nicely appointed full bathrooms, and sliding glass doors that open to the jungle and ocean view. Casa Vista is a beautiful, self contained studio with a queen size bed and daybed. It has a small full kitchen and a lovely bath, but the private front porch with it's spectacular view is the place you'll spend most of your time.

The house is located 1000' above sea level which accounts for the breathtaking views. The road up is steep but it is a very good road and feels and is safe. A 4x4 is a good idea but it is not a scary road. The house is very large and comforable with great views from all the rooms. The master bedroom is actually an enormous open loft with a wall of floor to ceiling glass. At night you can lay in bed and look out at the stars as there are no lights to wash out the night sky. During the day you look out at the lush jungle. The best part of the house is the patio. It's really an outdoor family room with plush furniture, romantic lighting, a ceiling fan. There's a glass table for four beside an outdoor fireplace. There's an ipod with a docking station with lots of great music which added greatly to the ambiance. We went kayaking in the mangroves with Pineapple tours $60pp, loved it. We also went snorkelling with Dolphin tours out of Uvita $60pp, it was also a great way to see the coastline from the sea. The house sits at the end of the road with 2 sets of gates. There is the main house and 3 other smaller houses none of which can been seen from each other. It's very private and the owner is always there in a house behind the main house. There was a safe which we used to keep our passports and valuables in. We never locked the house since there was no need, no strangers ever go in there and that gave us great peace of mind. The best part of staying in Domincal was sitting on the patio with that amazing view. Twice we saw toucans not 20' away in the trees. We stayed in Casa Vista for a week and had a wonderful time. The grounds are beautiful, the facilities were clean, and Natalie, the owner was gracious and fun to get to know. My wife and I thought this was perfect for the two of us. We enjoyed fishing for tilapia, swimming in 3 area waterfalls with great pools, and exploring the area by car. The porch is a great place to read, watch the birdlife from above....we saw toucans and other varieties of birds as well. The cicadas were quite loud during the day when we were there. This was an amazing vacation!!! The veiw was spectaluar. The owner, Natalie went above all our expectations!! I will be back and would recomend this property to any and every one!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.
