Poppy Bay is a three level split level beautiful rustic house on 100 feet of beach frontage. This home offers 3 bedrooms and 4 baths in a modern but nature reserve style environment. The house also has a wood burning fireplace... a rarity in Nassau and an out door one that can be used for bar-b-ques. This property is for nature enthusiasts, families or friends who would just like to get away from it all and enjoy some quiet time on the beach.
Poppy Bay is in Adelaide Village which is one of the oldest freed slave settlements in Nassau and is still very much to this day carries an old village environment. It is only a 15 mins drive from Nassau's International airport and when you get to Adelaide you will be greeted by happy friendly folks that live in and near the ocean. A simple carefree life.
This property is well equipped with a full kitchen and all of the conveniences of a vacation home but is equally a gracious and beautiful with it's wrap around verandahs....allowing it's guests to enjoy the scenery, local sun rises and sun sets from many different vistas in the house.
It is a self catering location with everything that you would need to make you feel right at home. Adelaide is in a very quiet part of town...almost like a nature reserve so while it is removed from many places in Nassau and the city of Nassau( which is a 30-40 mins drive away) the island is only 7x21 miles so nothing is really far in Nassau. Rental vehicles are also available at Nassau's International airport.
To tell you a little bit about Adelaide. There are many mangroves in Adelaide and a creek system that helps with water absorption for the Island during a hurricane.. so quite an important area. It is also not far from Albany, one of the newest upscale developments on the south western side of Nassau.
Many of the houses are still there from the 1800's and an old Anglican church and school make up the community. It is a fishing village and a great place to catch one's dinner and cook it. What a nice story to tell when you go back home.
