You can eat dinner at Roseanna's Cafe in town or Schooners just down the road (and a new one right in Oceanside) and Michkos in Netarts for an great burger or you can cook gourmet meals in a kitchen that has everything you need, including spices. Warm and Cozy Beach House with Fabulous View
Year Purchased: 1993
Why the Owner Chose Oceanside
We bought our home in Oceanside because it isn't a typical tourist town. There are two restaurants (and good ones), and one coffee shop in our town, but a fabulous long beach. Within 2 miles, there are two other good places to eat and two small stores for supplies. Within 9 miles is a good sized town (Tillamook) and an amazing cheese factory. But we will never be even close to having the feel of a Seaside or a Cannon Beach. If you're looking for more goings on, you won't be too happy here. But if you're looking for some time to reconnect with your family or your partner, I think you'll be pleased with our home.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Lovely peace and quiet, great beach walking, amazing views from the deck, a completely equipped kitchen, and comfy beds. The tide pools at low tide are so interesting, and if you like crabbing and clamming, it's just two miles away.
Great little restaurant right on the beach. They don't take reservations, have to kind of line up. Clam chowder is so good, and so are the fish dishes
Owner's Map of Oceanside
I'm a nurse practitioner and my husband is a retired fire chief. We're hoping that the people who want to stay here are looking for a home that belongs to a family and feels like a home, not a rental property or motel. So far, we've had incredibly good luck with people staying here; everyone has been respectful and treated this like their own home, we are so grateful. We hope if you chose to stay here, you'll feel pleased with your selection and renewed when you leave.

We spent the most enjoyable week at this Oceanside home. The view, the kitchen (the view from the kitchen!), the deck, the decor -- all just so inviting and perfect. Thank you, Teri and Hal, for making your home available -- and especially for allowing us to bring our dog. Jackson was completely tuckered out from all the fantastic beach walks and we so appreciated being able to have him with us. We love spending time in Oceanside and are thrilled to have found our go-to accommodation for future trips!
Owner response:Thank you, Judy, for writing such a nice review of of the house. We hope you'll come back soon and be sure to bring Jackson ;-) Terri and Hal

My sisters and I had a wonderful stay. The house was great, furnishing comfortable, well-stocked kitchen, outrageous view and comfortable beds - couldn't have had a better place. When you walk in, you feel the warmth of a home. In addition to that you get a work-out climbing the stairs into the house. Oceanside is a quaint community - relaxed, quiet, welcoming. I will look forward to another stay in this home at Oceanside. Thank you Terri & Hal.
Owner response:Thank you so much for your kind words. It really IS a home - ours and now others who can enjoy it too. We're glad you felt that way, and that you plan to come back again, Carolee. And thanks for taking your time to review the house on VRBO.

Terri: Bob and I just returned to Montana. I wanted to let you know just how much we enjoyed your beach house in Oceanside. It was absolutely perfect! The house was wonderful and we has such a great time. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home. It will be a wonderful memory for us for the rest of our lives. We have been telling our family about Oceanside and how great the beach is there. We hope, in the next year or two to return with our family. Thank you Terri. Please give a big thank you to Hal from Bob. He had to see the US Open.

Lovely beach house and perfect for a family get together. Very nice deck with great view and the beach is only a 3 minute walk away. Well taken care of home, clean and kitchen had everything one would need except an oyster knife :) nice linens and even comfy robes are there for the guests. We loved the little beach that was a 5 minute drive north of the house and the fresh seafood from Bay City. We would highly recommend this property except for elderly folk who would have trouble with the steep stairs.
Owner response:I'm so glad you found most of what you needed at the house. That elusive oyster knife! It has a white handle and probably faded into the background of the white drawer liner in the drawer between the sliverware drawer and the kitchen towel drawer. We eat oysters there all the time, especially those little kumomotos. Yum! I put the oyster knife in with the other knives now, so the next time you visit, it will be in the proper place! Terri

Amazing Beach Home! 2 families with children, plenty of space and all amenities supplied. Great views and access to the beach. Treasure hunts, sunsets, and beach hikes - Oceanside has it all. This was our 16th trip to the coast and this home is at the top.
Owner response:I'm so glad you had fun and that the house met your expectations. We hope you come and stay again! Terri and Hal

Our first day was rainy and cold, and we enjoyed the cozy warmth of the home. The view from the deck and the kitchen windows is spectacular. We cooked every night and had all the equipment we needed, as well as plenty of basic supplies. The house was very clean, and the bedding is exactly as described by previous reviewers. We slept soundly every night! We have rented several homes in the Oceanside area, and this was the best so far.
Owner response:Dear Beth, Thanks so much for the kind words. You, too, came from a long distance to stay in Oceanside, and I'm so glad that the house met your expectations. And thank you for leaving it in such great condition, much appreciated. Come see us again soon! Terri

I would highly recommend this wonderful beach house. All of the rooms were warm, cozy and decorated very nicely. We loved the heated sheets and they were so comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything that you need. The view is stunning! We really enjoyed eating and hanging out on the deck while watching the waves. We also really enjoyed going to the Tillamook cheese factory in town. Tillamook is a great little town with everything you need. We loved that the town of Oceanside is very small and private. We had such a wonderful vacation and made many precious memories with our three children. We will never forget the time we spent together in Oceanside. The owner is very nice and a joy to work with.
Owner response:This is very kind. You know, when someone comes all the way to Oregon from Oklahoma to stay at a home they found on the internet, sight unseen, you just have to hope that they like your house as much as you like it, and I guess they did, and that makes us very happy. Sumer and family, come back anytime, you are most welcome.

Comfortable, Well-Equipped Home with a Great View

We spent a weekend here (two families, three little kids), and it was lovely. The beds were very comfortable. The house was clean and well-equipped. The view is unbeatable. We appreciate that they welcome dogs. We had everything we needed to cook nice meals. This house is an excellent value!
Owner response:I'm so glad you had a good time at the beach house and that you thought it was a good value. We want it to be a good value, because we want people to come and stay and enjoy this house as we do. For years, we didn't rent it and it stayed empty for weeks at a time as we led busy lives in Portland. And now, when we do rent it, it feels right that our house is filled with other people's enjoyment. And because everyone has taken such great care of it, we have never yet felt like renting it was a bad decision. And you left it in terrific condition, thanks so much! Terri and Hal

Hi, My husband, two other couples, and family dog spent a May weekend at this fabulous Oceanside home. It more than comfortably accommodated all of us. There are four very comfortable queen bedrooms, so comfortable that all of us had to take a peak at the sheet brand-name! The kitchen is fully equipped. Nice everything, really. You can tell the owners have taken the time to really care for this house which feels more like a first home versus second home. The deck is great and overlooks an unblocked view of the ocean. Super close to the beach, cafe, and restaurant. We had a wonderful time and definitely plan to be back. Eileen Andersen
Owner response:You make me laugh! The sheets are 600 thread count from Costco! They wrinkle a little but are very comfy, for sure. We surely do hope you will return, Eileen, any time! And we agree, this is so much like our first home that we can't decide if this or Portland is really home. We hope that retirement gives us more time there to have two first homes - can't wait! Terri and Hal
