I am originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, my husband is from Calgary, Alberta where we currently live. We both absolutely LOVE the location of this cottage property. We actually have our own private cottage on the same road. We take every opportunity to visit this piece of paradise. We hope our renters will feel the same way and will return year after year.
Why the Owner Chose Peggy's Cove
When the opportunity arose this past spring to purchase a second property on the same road, we jumped at it. The view and location are second to none. We decided to renovate the place and make it available for rental so others could enjoy it as well.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Set amongst quaint fishing villages and sailing clubs, the daily activity on the ocean never ceases. Fishing boats are often seen in the distance in the early morning hours, while sailboats leisurely sail by throughout the afternoon and evenings. Seabirds and porpoises frequent the area daily, just off the property's shore. This area is the best of both worlds - it is truly a place to get away from it all, for total peace and quiet. However, just a 30 minute drive away is the capital city of Halifax, with a lively downtown waterfront and bustling night life.

We stayed at this property for 4 nights in July 2011 and wished it could have been longer. The house is beautifully situated, right on the waterfront with lovely decking and outdoor furniture to sit and watch the sunset whilst sipping a Nova Scotian white accompanied by fresh lobster! The interior of the house is even better than the photos suggest and Carol has very thoughtfully provided everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay right down to folding chairs and a picnic hamper for venturing out for the day. The property was immaculately clean and the local couple who met us at the cottage to check us in were extremely helpful and friendly. One morning when we woke to find the power was cut off (due to a line fault up the road) and we had no hot water they even opened up the owners actual property nearby so that we could shower which we really appreciated. Correspondence with Carol was always quick and efficient and coming from Australia we really appreciated being able to pay the deposit via paypal. I would recommend this property to anyone wishing to visit this beautiful part of Nova Scotia. Being keen photographers, we spent many hours at nearby spots such as Peggys Cove (early in the am and late pm to avoid the bus loads of day visitors), Indian Harbour where we met a lovely local storyteller, the Swissair 111 memorial site and indeed this whole coastline. Another day we visited Lunenburg and Mahone Bay and another day went further afield to the Gaspereau wine region and eventually Digby. All in all, a beautiful place to visit with very fond memories and we hope to come back one day! Thank you Carol.
