Year Purchased: 2006
Chattanooga was voted the #2 medium sized City in the Country as an arts destination and that caught our attention! Before arriving in Chattanooga, we were one of the original founders of an artists enclave in Bradenton FL called The Village of the Arts, where we owned and operated Kaos Gallery. Tom's art lies in restoration, and his exceptional talents were featured on HGTV in a show called, "What's With That House?" We will also be included in an upcoming PBS Special.
Why the Owner Chose Chattanooga
After visiting Chattanooga, we fell instantly in love with the City and its friendliness. We applied for and were granted an Artists Incentive through an Artist Relocation Program . We were looking for a new challenge, and found it here. What a wonderful City! We like to call ourselves urban pioneers now, having come here by way of rural Vermont to oceanfront Florida. We have had vacation rentals both in Vermont and Florida, so we are experienced as hosts to couples, business travelers and families. After nearly two years of restoration, our 100 year old brick Victorian has been transformed. A separate showroom/gallery greets you upon entry, followed by your own private entrance into the colorful Artists Gallery Residence. Our loft/studios are upstairs. Located on the Southside in a burgeoning arts district with wonderful shops, and right around the corner from the Chattanooga Choo Choo. Chattanooga is a combination of mountains surrounding the downtown, with the Tennessee River as the centerpiece. We are within a few hours of Nashville, Memphis and Dollywood.
